A Quiet Moment
Lark thanked him once again, he was happy to see her so excited about it. He could see her eyes were filled with anticipation and excitement, He didn't really feel all that tired anymore, usually, the library made him very tired, but maybe it was because he had just woken up, or maybe it was because he had some company for once... either way it was refreshing feeling.@Lark Flaer
"I'll uh... " It hit Dale that he really had no clue where he had last put that small little black box, it was either in his bag that he brought with him... or stowed away in his dorm. He leaned down and grabbed his back, searching through the smallest pouch until his hand felt something... plastic-like. He pulled out his good ole' trusty DS, "Well isn't that a nice coincidence" Dale wondered what else he had put into his bag that he had forgotten about...
He put the little black box on the table and slid it over, he searched through his bag again until he found his game cartridge holder, it was a small see-through thing that held a grand total of 6 games, he also slid that over to Lark. "If you wanna switch out the games all you gotta do is pop out the one that's in there and pop in a new one." Dale said as he pointed to the back of the DS.
Dale felt good about himself, being able to help anyone always made him feel that way, but whenever he helped Lark it felt... even better. A blush crept over Dales's cheeks... man they must've really turned up the heating in the library... wait, did Hogwarts even have an AC system... Before Dale could spend too much time thinking about his dumb question Lark had brought out a leather-bound book, She said she wanted to give something to him. She pulled out a piece of paper and presented it to him, she insisted on opening it up... Dale's eyebrows went up in curiosity as he looked at her, she looked very eager to see what his reaction to it, he unfolded the paper and his eyes shot up, it was a sketch of a dragon... "L-Lark, this is amazing!" He said examining the drawing, there were cleary hours poured into this drawing, "A-Are you sure you want me to.. Have this." Dale looked up at Lark, locking eyes for a second but them quickly moving them back to the drawing.

A Quiet Moment

Taking a minute to look over the small device Dale had given her, she gave a nod at seeing the spot to switch out the other smaller pieces that came with it. It sounded to her as if those were the games. They looked so small! How could they hold something that seemed such a long, involved story inside of it? She would definitely take advantage of break and spend time playing each one. Hopefully it would give her and Dale more to talk about as well. She ran her fingers over the case. This must be precious to her friend. It felt like a great deal of responsibility to borrow such a thing.. the feeling made a warmth spread through her. She felt honored.
Realizing Dale was now opening her drawing, she snapped her attention back to her friend. Lark held her breath and leaned forward intently watching the messy haired boy. Anticipation buzzed in her ears. Ever since she had started the drawing an excited, nervous sort of feeling had sat in the back of her mind. Worried it wasnt good enough but excited to give the drawing away. She never was one to really share her drawings or journal doodles. They were a private part of her she kept close. Yet, there was something different with Dale.. it felt comfortable to let him into this part of her world. Open up to the boy more than she did with her parents or family. It was scary sure... even exhilarating to not be to closed off after a certain point with people. She was open with her friends and social of course but even that was to a point. There were very few people she actually let get that close to her and experience the more tender parts of herself.
"L-Lark, this is amazing!"
Lark's chest lowered as she let loose the breath she had been holding in. Her eyes sparkled as a wide smile crossed her face, a soft laugh parting her lips. He liked it. He actually liked it. A swell of pride puffed out the Ravenclaw's chest slightly.
"A-Are you sure you want me to.. Have this."
Golden eyes met the boy's, time seeming to slow for a moment before he looked down. Giving a handful of quick nods the silver haired girl sat back in her seat and stretched her legs out under the table, resting the heel of her boots on the bar under Dale's chair. "Course not!" Something about his stutter made heat rise in her cheeks and a rush of butterflies flutter against her stomach up to her throat. Her smile still plastered across her face, Lark folded her hands in her lap. "I'm glad you like it! I was worried I didn't draw it well enough." She sat forward and nodded towards the section of books on creatures. "I must've sat o'er there for hours with every book on dragons at my table." Recalling the memory of a sixth year angrily glaring at her stack of books taking up the entire table, Lark laughed. "Don't think some other students were happy 'bout it." Too bad for them, she thought. It was worth it. Well worth it to see the look on Dale's face.

A Quiet Moment
@Lark Flaer
Dale looked over the drawing again, it was a beautiful drawing and he felt honored that Lark had drawn it for him. Lark said that she didn't mind him keeping it, he folded it back up and slipped it into his jeans pockets, making sure not to bend it too much. Lark said that she was worried that she did not draw well enough,"I think you did an amazing job" But Dale did feel a little bad, Lark said she had spent hours working on this piece, he would have to pay her back.. somehow.
Dale looked up into Lark's eyes once more, he didn't know why, they were just as he remembered them, golden and warm, welcoming but also a bit freighting. He could easily get lost in them, but he always looked away face red, and this time he did look away he caught a glimpse of the window, it was already getting dark. If it got too dark and patrols started he would have no way to sneak out tonight, and tonight was a vital time, he had to boil and brew a few things for his.. experiments, and there was no way he could do that during the day or in the building, he would have to do it outside. But a part of him wanted to stay right here, with Lark. But his brain stopped him from doing that, "Im s-sorry but I gotta get going" Dale said as he got up and slung his bad over his shoulder. "Id love to talk more, but I have to do something, we should hang out again sometime!" Dale turned around and made his way to the door.Dale leaves the thread
