Siobhan nervously fumbled with her hair as she sat in the carriage car which was traveling towards the brand new year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It had been a very eventful summer with a fun culmination at the School Fair that the older students had put on for the entire school. It had been so wonderful to wander around and she had even had a good time with the people she had met. A new boy, Alphonse Toussaint, had offered in exchange for her help adjusting to Hogwarts life, to help her out with her homework and making her way around the school as she adjusted to the new challenges that her vision was presenting.

Her eyes had tried to hinder her over the summer. There had been plenty of challenge throughout the summer with practicing her braille and learning to navigate through the country and forest without her eyes. Her brothers and her older sister had been as helpful as they could be but it had been a busy summer with the preparation and subsequent wedding between her oldest brother Eoghan and her Sister-in-law, Abigail. Abigail had let her feel the fabric of her wedding dress so that she could understand what it would look like in her eyes. It had been such a wonderful wedding.

And Matthew had come to visit her! They had gone looking for Kelpies in the Lough Leanne. While they hadn't found any it had fun to finally hang out with him without the fear of the two of them making the other cry for once. And it had been so peaceful.

But now, it was time for a relaxing ride into school, where the academic year was set to take place. Siobhan wondered if this year would be any easier than the last? Would she perhaps make a new friend this year? Would the world change more for her than it had the last time she had set foot in the castle for the start of a semester? She had no idea.

But she sat with her faithful cat Toaster, looking out the window as the train rocked back and forth gently on the tracks as she thought about the new adventures that awaited her. She had hoped that for her sake, and mental sanity, that this year would not get off to a bad start. Toaster then meowed loudly as he wanted something to nibble on throughout the ride. Gently placing him on the cushioned empty seat next to her, she stood up shakily and reached for her rucksack that was above her in the compartment.

"One moment Toaster. I did pack snacks for you... We're gonna have to lay off the snacks for you. You're getting chunky again." Siobhan muttered as she tried not to fall over from the shaking of the train.

Toaster meowed louder and pawed at the billowy fabric of her pants demanding his midday snack. Try as she might, she did try to get him to eat less throughout the summer but the darn cat had gone and found ways to get into his food. He was far too smart for his own good.

Siobhan sighed as she sat back down and opened the dry food for Toaster, as she held a handful in her hand for him to eat. The piggy that he was, Toaster easily crunched away as Siobhan looked out the window again, musing to herself about the possibilites that were occuring as she traveled forward in time.

Ever so insistent on learning, Kaitlyn had spent a lot of her free time reading or studying over the summer. With the new third-year classes coming up, she wanted to be prepared. While Herbology had always been her favorite class, you’d be hard pressed to find this snake not trying to learn everything she could about these new classes. Of course, a lot of it was spent FaceTiming her best friend, Devon, or spending time with her twin sister, Abigail, in London. The fair over the summer was pretty good, too, having spent it with friends (and Devon, of course)!

Yet, like all good things had to end, so did the summer. Kaitlyn and Abigail hugged in the corridor of the train.

“See you later, Kaitlyn. Why don’t we see each other before the feast?” Suggested Abby.

Kaitlyn nodded. “See you later, Abby."

As she watched her twin sister walk away, Kaitlyn sighed quietly. Shaking her head, the young Slytherin prefect glanced around the corridor. Thankfully, there were no rabble-rousers in sight! Even so, she knew herself. Would she have it in her to already reprimand at the start of the school year? Fudge. It wasn’t even really the start of the school year. Technically, this was before the start of the school year … that weird time between leaving home for school and when school actually began.

As she had just arrived on the train, Kaitlyn had decided to dress in a more summery mood for now. The young prefect wore a white sunflower dress with her favorite black gladiator sandals. Her brunette hair was tied in pigtail braids, and her wand was tucked behind her ear. As was normal for the young witch, she wore almost no makeup, bearing the light slathering of pink lip gloss on her lips. In a pocket of her dress, Demeter lay inside eating a carrot.

‘The train ride is always pretty long … I’ll just change when we get closer to Hogwarts. Ah, I first need to find a compartment. I wonder … are there any free, still?’

There would be no such luck, unfortunately. Gracefully, the young teenage girl skipped around to check on a few compartments near the back, typically where one could find empty compartments when the train was still in the station. But, now? Nope! They all appeared to have other students. She stopped dead in her tracks, spotting one compartment with a lone girl and her kitten.

‘Ah, this could be a good opportunity to try to be more friendly … and hopefully less awkward? Well, first, I hope she lets me join her …’ Letting out a long breath to steel herself, Kaitlyn knocked on the door of the compartment and entered it, staying near the door for now.

“Hi! I’m sorry for bothering you. May I join your compartment? The other ones nearby appear to be pretty full,” Kaitlyn chuckled nervously. With her left hand, she gently petted Demeter in her pocket.

The holidays are were always a nice break, Aston doesn't know if he liked the way summer camp ended right before the start of the new year. On one hand it was definitely nice to just spend a straight month with his dad in July, they read some new books together, spent a long weekend near some mountains in Scotland. Dad even got him a new broom! A nice new sliver arrow, he can't wait to fly around the quidditch pitch with it. The downside is that he doesn't get to tell dad all about camp, at least not in front of him. Suppose Aston will have to just send a really long owl telling him about all the fun things that happened. Camp was fun, and spending some more time with Luka was always appreciated. It feels like the other wizarding schools don't come visit nearly often enough, or maybe he was just greedy.

Like every year before, it's a bit of a struggle finding an empty carriage. Next year Aston has to spend less time saying goodbye to his family at the train station and actually get on the train early enough to get a good seat. Dragging his things around the train felt...kind of awkward to be honest, at least the familiar weight of Rosales on his shoulder is a comforting one. Third year, wow, it feels weird knowing that he has been in the country for around four - or was it five? - years now, doesn't nearly feel as long. This year is one Aston is looking forward to, the new classes seem so exciting! Being a half-blood muggle studies didn't exactly pique his interest, and ancient runes - what even is that? Care of magical creatures felt like it would be fun, animals are always nice to be around. Out of all of them, divination was what really intrigued him, could people really see the future? The idea sounds so fantastical, seers do exist, Aston's dad taught him that much, but the idea that even someone like him could maybe get a glimpse of future. Aston never felt really magically talented, spells never came intuitively, perhaps divination could be something he can learn to understand, something he can get.

Giving his ferret another pat, Aston continued his search for a carriage. He doesn't even need an empty one, just one empty enough to fit him that has some friendly looking people. Heck, if this continues any longer he might just give up on that last part. A few more steps later, he finally found one. It was mostly empty, just with two girls in it, one of them had a cat too! Maybe if he asked nicely he can pet it? "'S'cuse me, do you mind having another person? I hate to bother but I, uh, spent a bit too much time talking on the platform and now damn near all the carriages here are full." Aston had a bit of a nervous smile as he talked, just a bit quicker then usual out of the nervousness. He really, didn't want to have to carry that bloody trunk around any longer, he may be strong, but he ain't that strong.

[reducio]TRIGGER WARNING: Mentions of Occular Trauma[/reducio]
Siobhan saw the flash of light and heard the rapping of knuckles on the door which alerted her that someone was opening it and wanting to come into her compartment. She had been incredibly lucky to find her own compartment where she could have her last couple hours of complete solitude to think about how she wanted the year to go and perhaps practice a spell or two from the year before to ensure she hadn't lost the ability to practice. A crucial and intergral part of magic was the ability to envision whatever it was that one was trying to conjure, transform or transfigure things.

Seh had just been about to look for her wand when the movement and shadows in the corner of her eyes had alerted her to the presence of another. She covered her eyes slightly as the girl who opened the door had spoken.

"Oh- I... If you want to, sure." Siobhan spoke with a soft tone as she tried to keep her eyes away from the girl who she had offered her compartment too. It wasn't something she wanted to show off to others, but it was something she was going to need to accept would be seen more often as the years went on.

However almost as soon as the girl joined her compartment, another voice broke through asking if he could also join them. Good lord, at this rate she might as well invite the entire school! So she allowed him into the compartment and the three of them sat around for a moment in the quiet as Siobhan tried to think about what it is she could start the conversation with aside from simple pleasantries.

But she should at least get those out of the way.

"My name is Siobhan. I'm a third year and this is Toaster." Siobhan spoke as she turned towards the two individuals in her vicinity. "I apologize, I can only tell things about you through your voice and general movements. I'm going blind, so please excuse me if I make mistakes while speaking to you."

Toaster meowed and tried to jump up onto her lap but his fat, bumbling body was unable to leave the ground. He loudly mewoed at her demanding that she reach down and place him back on her lap.

"Toaster don't be rude. We have guests and you need to be on your best behavior."

She placed a polite smile on her face as she tried to keep her confidence from wavering and her eyes from becoming a reluctance to others. She didn't want pity, just companionship in terms of friends. There was no reason that she needed to start the year off on the wrong foot. That wasn't her plan.

And so she allowed the vulnerable side of her to be seen. The webbing that marred her eyes was less pronounced now due to the salves and healing potions she had been given/subjected too over the summer. Not to mention the couple trips to St. Mungo's she had been on to do some more healing of her actual eyes.

The outside was looking more appealing to others, but some of the scarring persisted. It wasn't so bad anymore but she didn't want to scare off whoever it was that was sitting with her.

Noticing the girl’s reaction, Kaitlyn immediately closed the door after physically carrying her trunk into the compartment. She offered a grateful smile to her. “Sorry for bothering you, thank you for allowing me to come in,” she replied. Turning on her toes, she quickly placed her trunk on the floor for now.

Before Kaitlyn could do much of anything else, another voice approached them. This time, the new person was a boy who asked to join them both. Once the girl allowed him in … considering this compartment was the girl’s to begin with, it only made sense to Kaitlyn to let the girl decide. Kaitlyn smiled at the boy. “Hi, welcome,” she smiled at him.

While Kaitlyn was a prefect, she tried her best to be more friendly. Certainly, she would still be socially awkward. With a glance at the others in the compartment, she shyly played with her pigtails. It was one of her nervous habits. She had many of them, unfortunately. At least she wasn’t as bad as she was in her first year, with a bad stutter.

Glancing at Siobhan, Kaitlyn stayed silent as the girl talked, gently taking Demeter out of her pocket and petting her. Before coming to Hogwarts, she attended St. Ann’s all-girls’ Catholic Boarding school for her muggle education. While the school taught many subjects and held various extra-curricular activities, her etiquette class seemed to be one of the most applicable topics. Well, that and the school-sponsored etiquette parties … which were basically social engagements the school wanted all the girls dressed up and behaving like proper, polite young ladies.

One of the biggest lessons was on active listening. Even with everything new around her, Kaitlyn was quick to notice that active listening tended to help. It helped to show that she was actually listening, which was always great to show. Plus, it helped her concoct something to respond with. It brought her out of responding immediately, which meant she could take her time and give a much more thoughtful response. It also allowed her to strategize … if the interaction called for it.

For now, however, it gave her the time to listen carefully to Siobhan. Kaitlyn was curious about why Siobhan used an introduction to describe her blindness. Far too polite to question it, Kaitlyn simply nodded. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Siobhan. My name is Kaitlyn, and I’m a third year, too.” A giggle escaped her lips. “Toaster’s very cute. This …” Quickly realizing that Siobhan likely wouldn’t see her bunny, Kaitlyn corrected course. “… is my bunny, Demeter. She’s a Mist Hopper and can be quite mischievous at times,” she explained, booping her bunny on the nose. “You don’t have to apologize. Anyone worth talking to will understand and not make you feel bad,” she replied to Siobhan.

Kaitlyn gave a friendly smile to Siobhan, but didn’t stare. The other girl’s eyes were indeed scarred. But it wasn’t right to treat the other girl differently because of how her eyes looked.

Aston smiled and said a quiet "Thank you." before putting his trunk down and getting into a seat. As he sat down Rosales got off his shoulder and jumped into his lap, eager to look at the strangers in the carriage. "I'm a third year as well! Are you guys excited about the new classes as well? I'm Aston, I'm a Ravenclaw." Both of the girls that kindly let him into their carriage felt quite nice. The first girl was tall, though the most notable part of her was the scars on her eyes, Aston was curious about how that happened but he had the manners that stopped him from asking about it.

The scars looked odd, not something he was ever familiar with. It was to be expected really, the boy was so sheltered for most of his life. It seemed even wizards and witches have their limits, good to know. It's hard for Aston not to feel like all is possible, how did his father spend over ten years never using any magic? It's such a massive part of his life now, in the holidays Aston always sees Aaron using spells for household chores, things he used to just do by hand, Aston wonders what it will feel like, willingly giving this up.

But being lost in thought mid conversation is hardly a polite thing to do. With a smile Aston spoke once again, "No worries at all Siobhan, feels like it'd be pretty foolish to get mad over something like that, it's not like you can control it."

The second girl in the carriage, Kaitlyn, felt...very polite, not that there's anything wrong with that, but it almost made Aston self-conscious. Was he talking too loudly? His accent was always something that made him stand out, did he sound weird? Hopefully none of the girls would judge him too badly.

What caught Aston's attention more than anything else in the carriage was their pets, "Oh toaster looks so adorable! And the name is very cute as well, does he like strangers much?" Aston wanted to pet toaster, not if the animal wouldn't like it though. "Demeter? Like the Greek goddess? That's a cool name, it suits her." So that's now two people he knows who have pets named after Greek gods or goddesses, interesting, Maybe Kaitlyn likes Greek myths? Aston lifted up Roasles, happy to introduce his little companion, "This is my dear ferret Rosales, I think she is very cute as well." He said so with a big grin, giving Rosales a pat on her head.

It's been very nice having the ferret at school with him, Aston can't believe it's already been a whole year since he first got her. He always gets his best gifts in the holidays, first Rosales, and now that new broom of his. I gotta test this out on the quidditch pitch soon, it's gonna feel so quick! Aston thought, sadly for him, he wouldn't get that chance for quite a few days.

Siobhan was happy to make both Aston and Kaitlyn's acquaintence. In fact when Kaitlyn had introduced herself, it had made her giggle.

"That's my sister's name, Kaitlyn. She's younger than I am but she traveled with me and my parents to drop me off this morning at the Train Station." Siobhan said as she picked up a wailing and pawing Toaster. With some effort she was able to get the cat into her lap so that he could take his second nap of the day. He was infuriatingly cute and it was really the only reason that she was putting up with him and letting him out of his carrier.

Both of her compartment friends had pets across their shoulders or in their arms as well and it was funny to see the three furry companions of various shapes and sizes accompany their owners. Kaitlyn had a small rabbit named Demeter, and Aston had introduced his ferret Rosales. Siobhan turned in the vague direction that Kaitlyn's voice had resonated from and shared her similar interest in the name that Aston had voiced.

"Demeter, the Greecian goddess of the Harvest. My family has a small altar to Sif, the Norse Harvest goddess. My family practices paganism as part of our farm's heritage and Sif is our patron Goddess." She said softly as she gently pet Toaster's back. His black fur was shedding and she grimaced lightly as she felt a small batch of shed fur fall into her hand.

"Toaster doesn't care much for other people. He doesn't dislike them so much but he's quite indifferent." Siobhan spoke with practiced ease. Her irish accent stood firm against the other two's perfect English ones, but she felt more confident in the words she used. Speaking English primarily throughout the year and towards her peers had helped her to grasp the nuances of practical and basic conversation.

"You are both third years- is there an extra class you are excited about? I really want to take Care of Magical Creatures. But Ancient Runes sounds interesting as well." Siobhan said as she thought about all the magical animals she had read about in her textbook over the summer. Unicorns, Dragons, Nifflers, Blast-Ended Skrewts, Hippogriffs, Bowtruckles, Kelpies. They all sounded so beautiful and truly something that couldn't really exist until she saw them. She hoped that they would get an opportunity for her to feel the animals so that she could build an understanding of how they worked, though she supposed for certain ones touching would be disadvised.

Similar to a muggle-aquarium where the touch pools had urchin's and eels but you didn't touch them.

With Runes, she was already somewhat versed in them since her family had them inscribed all over the house. Above their entry doors, the rune Algiz was inscribed to help ward off negativity and bad intentions, so to keep the house a calm and peaceful place. In their storage area for their crops and barn for the animal, the Fehu rune was carved above the stalls of their dairy cows and in the metal lock on their silo. It would be interesting to take Runes just to flex on her knowledge and build it up a bit more. Perhaps she could write better runes for her family.

"Do either of you play sports? Or do anything around school? I'm on the Gryffindor Dueling Team." Siobhan smiled. She hadn't been kicked off the team yet but over the summer she had practiced and gotten much better at using her other senses to build on what she lacked in eyesight. Her hearing and gut feelings had gotten stronger as she focused on what she could not see. She had enlisted her brother's help in throwing rocks at her which, after much convincing, they had agreed. It had been an interesting summer as she dodged rocks and she sounds of moving feet and shifting shadows of their bodies.

Looking between Aston and Siobhan, Kaitlyn smiled. She was glad to have met new people on the train ride back to Hogwarts for their third year. With Demeter sitting in her lap, she was thankful to have something to do with her hands … namely, petting her bunny. Even though she was entering her third year, she still felt awfully shy talking to other students … even as she tried her best to converse well enough.

Chucking at Siobhan’s comments, Kaitlyn nodded. “That is interesting! I’m glad your sister got to see you off. Growing up at my muggle boarding school near London, I was the only Kaitlyn there,” she recalled. Then again, she mostly hung out with her friend group at the all-girls’ boarding school, so she likely wasn’t the best source of information with regard to who else was there.

Glancing at Aston’s pet ferret, Roasles, Kaitlyn giggled. “Aw, yes, I agree! Roasles is so cute!” She agreed. Both Aston and Siobhan mentioned the Greek origins of the name Demeter, from Greek Mythology. “Yes, like the Greek Goddess,” she nodded in confirmation. “That is cool! I don’t practice paganism, but I find Greek Mythology and Norse Mythology to be very interesting to learn about,” she replied. While she grew up with religion, she wasn’t about to ramble on about it. For that matter, she had no idea if Siobhan or Aston would have any idea of what she was talking about, if she had gone off on that tangent. It was often best not to open that can of worms, in her opinion.

A smile formed on Kaitlyn’s lips at the mention of Toaster not liking strangers. Duly noted. She enjoyed petting the pets of other students, but wouldn’t dare without asking first. Demeter enjoyed pets, however, and she had no issue letting her Mist Hopper be cuddled. Thankfully, as they were on the train, Demeter couldn’t possibly hop out of the compartment, so that helped, as well. Perhaps Rosales wouldn’t mind being petted?

“Aw, that’s perfectly fine. Toaster is still a joy to see,” Kaitlyn smiled. “Does Rosales like to be pet?” She asked Aston, curiosity in her voice. To be fair, there was no right way for a pet to behave, anyway. All that mattered was that the pet’s owner enjoyed spending time with their pet.

Knowing that they were all third years was a breath of fresh air. To be fair, Kaitlyn knew next to nothing about the additional classes they were allowed to take. Her best friend, Devon, was really excited about taking Divination. While she didn’t know if she shared her friend’s excitement, she found the idea to be interesting. Over the summer, she spent a considerable amount of time flipping through the new textbooks and looking at the remaining ones in the bookstore. She had to admit, they were interesting.

“I’ve been looking forward to it,” Kaitlyn beamed. “Ancient Runes does sound interesting, as does Divination. Care of Magical Creatures is also pretty useful. I’d have a hard time pinpointing one class to take,” she giggled. “I wonder if they’d let us take as many as we want to?” She proposed, not expecting an answer. It would be nice, however, as long as she could keep up with the work. While some of the classes were difficult in her first two years so far, she didn’t have an issue keeping up with her work yet, thankfully.

Tilting her head to the side, Kaitlyn adjusted Demeter in her lap so her right hand could play with her right-hand pigtail. A shy smile crossed her lips at the mention of what they did at Hogwarts. She wasn’t the type to boast, and certainly didn’t have the confidence to do so. It was a recurring fault that she had. Her confidence was certainly better than when she was a first-year student, but that hardly meant that she was brimming with confidence. On the contrary, she wasn’t.

“I’m going to be on the Slytherin Broomracing Team,” Kaitlyn replied. A light blush formed on her cheeks. “And, I’ll continue to be a Slytherin Prefect,” she squeaked. Sometimes at night, she questioned why she was given such a responsibility. And yet, who was she to judge? Someone clearly believed in her, even if she didn’t quite believe in herself yet. She looked at her sandals, slightly embarrassed.

Aston chucked at the coincidence, must be weird meeting someone with the same name as your sibling, though he wouldn't know if that were true, being an only child and all. "You went to a muggle boarding school? How different was that compared to Hogwarts?" Aston perked up and asked, Hogwarts was his first experience with school at all, but surely the muggle's version wouldn't be too different.

"Oh that's really interesting, I don't know much about paganism, my family doesn't practice any religion." Patron goddess, an unfamiliar term to Aston that he just brushed off, maybe he could find some books on paganism at the library in London. They had books on Greek myths, surely paganism as well? Speaking of Greek myths, "Me too Kaitlyn! My father works at a library so I spent a lot of time there in the holidays, read books on a lotta different topics."

Aston patted Rosales as Siobhan talked about Toaster's personality, he sounded quite different from Rosales, as Aston never saw a person that the ferret didn't like. Since the day they met she's been friendly and excitable, though Aston likes to think that he is still her favorite person. "Toaster sounds like the opposite of Rosales, she's always trying to get other people's attention, jumping on their laps and trying to get pets. My dad didn't like her much when I first got her but he eventually warmed up after months of her relentless attempts." It was then that Aston stopped petting Rosales and leaded back, a move that prompted the ferret to go towards Demeter, probably trying to get to know the rabbit.

The talk about the new subjects was an exciting one to Aston, he did spend a lot of the holidays asking his father about them. Despite being from Ilvermorny he was able to help a lot with that. Aston barely even knew what ancient runes was, the one subject he didn't want to take was muggle studies, he did grow up like a muggle, one with a weird life style, but still muggle. "I think it's gonna be so cool to take new classes! I'm really looking forward to care of magical creatures and divination, maybe it's just the muggle in me but the idea of being able to see the future sounds super intersting. And I've seen drawings of Hippogriffs in books, it would be so cool to ride on one or something, I wonder how close we can get to the magical creatures." From the glances Aston took at ancient runes in books he would not know anything, it look so complicated, not to mention something he doesn't really care about.

Sports! Definitely one of Aston's favorite topics and thing to do around school. "I'm a second string beater for Ravenclaw! Got the position around late last year and only played one match so far, it's still so fun though." Dueling is a fun sport, but something Aston could never quite do good enough join the team, he couldn't say the words quite quick enough, couldn't wave his wand accurately and dodge at the same time. "And with our seventh years leaving I'm also taking on captains roles. It's a pity our old captain left, she was really good. So yeah I'm gonna be the quiddich co-captain for Ravenclaw in addition to dueling and broom racing which I got last year, it's gonna be a lot but I feel like I can do it." It may be a lot of responsibility, but it's the kind Aston enjoyed, the kind he would happily spend his time on and strive to excel for.

Hearing about the other two compartment members prowess both in sports and academically had Siobhan relaxing a little bit more as she realized she truly was among peers she had hoped to find. With the friend group that she had, and how dearly she cared for them, she couldn't help but always feel a little out of the loop in terms of racing and quidditch. Matt dueled but they had only just reconciled from last semester.

So she wasn't fully sure where she stood with him.

"I'm afraid I don't know much about brooms or their respective sports. I would like to go see more matches though. A friend I made at the Summer Camp is a quidditch player! And I want to support him. I just don't know the game very well." Siobhan spoke, keeping her drama with boys away from her new compatriates.

To be quite honest, to her mind, the thought of riding anything into the sky that wasn't surrounded by four walls and a floor scared the ever loving powers of the hippy agenda out of her. It was unbelievable to her that the Wizarding World utilized such methods of transportation that did not involve feet on the ground.

"You both astound me. I'm quite fearful of heights, even moreso now that I'm losing my sight. Will either of you be taking muggle-studies? I know we're all somewhat familiar with muggle culture but wouldn't it be neat to see how Wizards see us? Sounds like an easy 'O' if you ask me. But Aston, you should let us see your drawings, if you're comfortable of course. If they're colored I might be able to make out some of the art." She quipped as she picked Toaster off her lap, freeing her legs from the hefty cat. Toaster limply hung in the air as she playfully wiggled his body before giving her cat a kiss on the forehead and let him down so that he could stretch his own legs.

Siobhan looked towards the window for just a moment, stretching her neck and her arms just slightly. She'd hit another growth spurt and it had her standing close to five feet and six inches. Her limbs were long enough that it made sitting for quite some time, painful. Toaster's fat butt had caused her knees to fall asleep and she wasn't about to stand up and fall over.

Both Kaitlyn and Aston seemed to be very intrested in Divination. While Siobhan was as well, she wasn't sure how the art form would work without physical sight. Her mother divined at home with water and with dice, while her grandmother had learned to divine with cards and palms. Siobhan had been moving more towards her grandmother's variation of divination practice.

"Have either of you heard of wandless magic? I was doing some reading this summer, and came across the ability in my books. Apparently, its a great power to have! Especially in duelling or quidditch! You don't need pesky wands, or the fear that you might lose it. I think I'd like to learn how to cast without my wand eventually." Siobhan mused as the train continued to rattle on down the tracks. "Especially without my eyes. It's hard if you lose your wand! But I feel less of a connection to my wand I think because I focus on the magic of the Earth instead." she finished with a soft lilt.

She pulled out the pathic looking stick from her pocket. 21.5cm, Ash Wood and Troll Tail hair. The Ash wood made sense for her, but the core still disgusted her to no end.

"This wand always suprises me. It's quite an odd one. When I duel- its a faithful companion. But when I need it for practicality, I feel no draw to it and I suspect it feels no draw from me. Did either of you feel this way when you first visited the Wand Shop?" Siobhan asked as she twirled the wand around in her fingers. Thankfully, it didn't feel too enthusiastic with her movements and their was no power as she moved it around.

If anything most often, it was a hair holder when she twisted her hair into a bun. Similar to how she had used pencils and forks at home.
