Time: Second Week of the School Year
Claire was hurrying to get to her classes on time. She barely remembered where things were in this big, beautiful castle-like school. But, she shouldn't complain even in her thoughts, because she was very lucky to be learning here. Even though she was a Pure-Blood she felt equal to everyone else.
She had been excided for years, and hoping they wouldn't remove her name at the last minute. So, now that Claire was finally at Beauxbatons, she had been seeing and experiencing everything with new eyes. And, everything was just as amazing as she had imagined it would be!
I should really pay attention to where I am going! Claire thought-scolded herself. She could get lost here! It was only her second week here after all! Then Claire vaguely saw someone hurrying down the opposite corridor.
"Hello," Claire greeted even though she didn't really have time to. She couldn't help it. Claire loved meeting new people even though any minute she was going to be late for class. "It is easy to almost get lost and be in a big hurry here. Isn't it?" she said, trying to strike up a conversation, even though she was 1) going to be late, and 2) couldn't quite see who it was.

School had finally started and Beauxbatons School had opened. It felt so good to be back in this beautiful castle. She had struggled with her classes the previous two years and she was still struggling now.

As she quickly walked around the school, the books in her hand and the bag on her back were something Claire still couldn't get used to. She had her blonde hair up in a bun. In the early years, hair was a challenge for Clair while she was running, so she wore her hair up in a bun to classes.

She was brought back to reality when she heard a voice. When she looked over, she was stunned by what he saw. The girl who had called out to Claire did look a lot like him. There were only two differences. Claire had freckles and looked a little older than the girl. She approached the girl with a slight shyness.

"Y-yes, it is indeed very possible to get lost in the huge castle."

Unable to hide his surprise, she spoke. It was as if he was actually seeing his twin, who was almost physically similar to her. She knew she would be late for class, but her curiosity got the better of her and she continued her speech.

"My name is Claire. What's your name?"

"But, I'm Claire too!" she said in shock. She normally wouldn't have said such a borderline rude statement, but she was very surprised. This second Claire looked so much like her, minus a dusting of freckles on the face. The other girl even looked like she had Claire's thick wavy hair and lovely blue eyes.
Claire briefly wondered if they were secretly twins. But this thought left her quickly, because the other Claire looked a tad older than her. And, secondly she trusted her parents not to keep her in the dark on something as major as a twin. Thirdly, the girl looked a bit older, or mabie just a little taller than Claire.
But, still they might could be related somehow. Claire would have asked some question along the lines of 'What is your full name, and what is your family blood status' but she was way too polite to do that. She realized that her mouth was open a centimeter or two and shut it quickly, delicately blushing.
To distract the second Claire, Claire said, "I am so grateful to be here, that I will barely care if I were to get lost." She said that instead of getting in some tough conversation about why they looked alike and who they really were, and to keep talking about their original topic.

Claire was struck by a second shock. As if that wasn't enough, they had the same name. If she hadn't been a little older than her, she would have thought she was her lost twin. An idea came to her mind to get out of this awkward situation.

"You can call me Alnilam if you want. That way we can both avoid this awkward situation. Alnilam is my first name... before I changed it."

She didn't want to talk about it too much, so she hoped the other Claire wouldn't bring it up too much. While she was thinking about how to diffuse this strange event, she was relieved by the other Claire's speech.

"Don't worry, I'm also confused about going to classes. I mean, the castle is very big and you can get lost very easily."

She said this with her own knowledge. It was always easy to get lost in huge castles. She asked curiously. "What's your lesson? Maybe it's not that far away and we can get you there before it's too late." She asked, completely ignoring her own lesson. She felt a kinship with the other Claire. She felt like a big sister.

"What do you like?"

When, the second Claire mentioned calling her 'Alnilam' Claire was very curious why. She almost asked questions about why she had changed her name. But, it wouldn't be very polite to ask personal questions of someone that you had just met. She had also sensed that Alnilam didn't really want to talk about it. Claire probably wouldn't, either if she had to change her name for some reason. But, she was still curious, anyway.
Instead, she listened to Alnilam respond to their previous conversation. "My next one is Defense of the Dark Arts," she shuddered. It was far too scary for her delicate tastes. "I believe it is that way," Claire turned around and pointed to the corridor behind her, the corridor that she was on before she investigated who was walking next to her.
To the second Claire's final words Claire was a bit puzzled. It was an open question. She hesitated, figuring what to say, before responding with, "Earrings!" she smiled, tilting her head to show off today's studs- green-glass flowers. This was a pair that she really liked. They weren't that expensive, but Claire didn't value things by money. "I have way too many! What do you like?" Claire said concluding and giving Alnilam a chance to answer.
