@Koko Riddle @Atlas Anderson @Sage WillowsClark stood there staring out at the Great Lake, already donning his neon green speedos that he decided he'd wear. He stared at the ground below his feet and tried to take some calm breaths. The young goblin did not like water, never did. He nearly drowned more than once.
He had obtained the Gillyweeds that he left for the other three in the Room of Requirements along the shores. He also made sure he got their cloaks, but he could not find Atla's twin-suit. Well. Wasn't his business.
He put it in his mouth and felt his body trembling as he stepped into the water. What if this didn't work? What if he drowned? Oh god, he didn't want to go out this way. Someone needed to drain this lake of its water. It would be safer. For Clark.
The goblin hesitated but quickly threw his head under the water, like forcing yourself to submerge yourself in a shower.
He felt like he was able to breathe, at least, well enough for now. But could he talk? No, he did not want to try it. He figured he might as well swim around for the time being. Maybe the others will come soon. Hopefully they were not going to abandon him.
First encounter next round
For notes.

· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·As Koko crept throughout the great outdoors, she shivered in every slight breeze and felt every bit like a stupid child even though she was now an adult in both the magical and Muggle worlds. She had a black-and-white swimsuit underneath a green dressing gown, and a pair of soft, cheap slippers hung on her otherwise bare feet. She was horribly underdressed and playing at children's games, or otherwise playing supervisor to children's games, all of which were decidedly abnormal for her.
Even if she were overjoyed to be slinking around in the dead of night in what was practically her pyjamas, the idea of going into the lake in any capacity made her stomach twist as she stalked the grounds. She kept a steady grip on her wand, and in a small, waterproof bag, she carried some invisibility potion for if the worst happened — that being, they were caught. Her prefect status would save herself; perhaps Sage could say the same, but Koko decided she would be more than willing to let Clark and Atlas take the fall if it came for it.
In fact, she didn't even think she would help Clark if he managed to drown himself in the lake. Given his recent stint at drink spiking, and especially considering that it was her drink that had been spiked, the thought of never seeing the insolent youth again brought an angry spark to Koko's eyes and a cruel half-smile to her lips. She quickened her pace.
It did not take her very long to find the lake. She slipped off her shoes and chewed on the inside of her cheek, gazing uncertainly at the murky, dark green water. The sound of splashing filled her ears, and she told herself this was just a bout of stupid childish fun — hardly anything dangerous, just going for a swim at night. She glanced at the white cloak on the ground and wrapped her arms tighter around her flimsy green dressing gown. It wasn't as if she could wear either of the outer garments in the lake — the cloak would likely weigh her down, and the dressing gown would get tangled.
She shrugged off the dressing gown and shivered once again as a breeze hit her now-bare shoulders. She carefully folded the gown and set it next to the cloak, and then she slipped the Gillyweed between her fingers as she stood back up. The night's ambient light glinted off of her red-lacquered nails. Once more, Koko glanced out at the water, wondering if anyone was already there, and she called out in a low voice: 'Does this even work?'
A stupid question, perhaps, but she wasn't about to ask if anyone was there. She was the adult in this situation, anyway, so she required neither company nor supervision. Nonetheless, she found herself at least hoping that the others were alright. If something had happened to them... well, she wouldn't take the blame, but she would very well be somewhat disappointed.
Even if there were no answer to her halfhearted question, she would slip the Gillyweed between her tongue and her cheek, wrinkling her nose at the odd texture, and then she would cross her arms over her chest and stand in wait. She refused to go into the lake, which would likely be cold, until it was absolutely necessary.· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·

Sage was 99% sure she was crazy. Or at least in the process of becoming crazy. What else could have sent her to join a coven?
Something in her mind had been completely taken over by the idea of this coven, of diving into the freezing lake. The entire ordeal had soothed over the recent phenomenon that was her life. Would this coven freeze out the anxious moments of her world, or would it rather question her values as a leader?
There was limited use for a bathing suit at Hogwarts, but still she'd selected a blue one-piece for this swimming adventure. The air, despite it being May, chilled her skin. She added her usual school cloak over the suit. Sage made the transfer from her usual prosthetic to her new waterproof prosthetic before arriving at the lake, which proved no easy feat with the way the ankle joints worked.
Nevertheless, Sage made it out to the Great Lake. She found Koko standing by the edge, arms crossed. Once Sage stood next to the seventh year, she dipped a toe in and offered a greeting. "Hi, Koko. Water's cold." She paused to retrieve her Gillyweed from her cloak, tossing the cloak down by her feet once it was safe in her hand. "Did the boys already go in?"
Sage could swim, naturally, but she was no Olympian. The idea of swimming down to God knows where painted an uncertain expression on her face. After a few minutes of standing by the side of the Great Lake, Sage would take a heavy breath and place the Gillyweed in her mouth. "I'll see you down there," she muttered to anyone who was listening. With a thundering beating in her heart, Sage jumped into the lake.

@Koko Riddle @Atlas Anderson @Sage WillowsThere was still one missing person. One that has yet to show up, the one he was supposed to match with. It was making Clark nervous, was he stuck in some form of foot traffic? Sigh.
He looked at the other two girls in front of him. "Koko. Hi." He said, a little unsure if he could truly say anything to not earn him a dirty look. This prize was definitely real. Right? He didn't spend months planning for nothing! And he was being kind enough to totally split it. He turned his attention towards Sage. His gaze slowly slid down towards her leg. He couldn't stare, it was rude, but he so badly wanted to ask about it. Clark abruptly directed his attention towards Sage's face and gave her a little smile. "Come on in!" He wasn't going to mention Atlas.
He was surely going to come, right? He could not help but to plead nonstop in his head. He looked at Koko, extended his right arm out and gestured for her to come in. "We have things to do!" The goblin exclaimed, the glare from the sun reflecting coarsely off of the water and into his own eyes. Admittedly, he wanted to get under and away from the surface.
Clark didn't hear it coming, but he felt a sharp slice in his skin, like a shark bit him. He groaned in pain, wanting to cry, but again, boys don't cry. The good thing was, it didn't hurt as much... right now. He turned to look at the attacker, seeing its scaly fish body creep through the water at a rapid speed. Merlin, what the fuck did he get himself into?
He swam up to the shore and yelled for help. "GET YOUR BUTTS IN THE WATER NOW! OR I'LL BE BLOODY SHARK MEAT!"
He resubmerged under the water, fumbling around his body looking for the wand, when he looked at his hand and realized. Mentally, he spoke. 'Thank merlin.' Lowkey, he felt like someone who had their glasses on and went searching through the entire house to find it only to find it an hour later on their very own face!Rolls

The young Slytherin had meant to show up much earlier, but he came later which was typical as always. He jogged cross the damp grass with his boots hitting the ground with heavy thuds as he made a beeline to the lake where he'd find the rest of his coven members. He had already come prepared and his wand was secured to his leg with a waterproof sheath and the clutched pouch of Gillyweed in the other hand.
Although, the speedos could have been better, matching ones with Clark could prove that it was his silly mastermind. For the goblin it was perhaps a 'team spirit' thing but as much as Atlas had mentally protested, it was late and he had no choice but to go there with cold thighs, bad attitude and all. His heart pounded and judging by the yell across the water, he was already behind.
He took note of discarded gowns and the shimmer of white cloaks and two sad looking slippers as if someone lost a duel of their dignity. Grimacing, he shoved the Gillyweed in this mouth—it tasted like slimy moss and bad decisions—yikes, there was no time to dwell on that.
He sprinted in the last few steps and dove right into the like and the cold hitting like a slap.
Underwater, chaos.
The Hufflepuff goblin was tangled with some scaly menace—flailing, floundering, definitely in trouble. The young Slytherin kicked hard and sliced through the water ignoring the chill curling in his gut. No way he was letting that idiot goblin become mincemeat for merpeople. He drew his wand and mumbled a spell with some difficultly, "Flipendo!" A blast of purple light shot from his wand and with much intense velocity, it advanced towards the creature hoping to strike the target.
Atlas swam up beside Clark, eyes sharp. “Bit late to the party,” he mouthed through a stream of bubbles. "But I never miss the climax."

· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·Koko offered a polite smile and a wave to Sage, hoping that the greeting would at least assuage her discomfort. It did very little; she was pleased to at least see a face that ignited less anger within her than that of Clark fucking Baird, but nonetheless, without her usual outfits and makeup, she felt as if her skin had been rubbed raw and salt was now being poured over it. She hoped her smile, even lacking its usual red lipstick, did not seem quite as plastered-on as it felt.
'Cold, hm?' Merlin, even her voice sounded wrong. 'I have not seen Atlas. Clark, though... he's in the lake, all right.' She spat out the part-goblin's name with a sharp bitterness that hadn't crossed her usually-warm tone since she'd last spoken with @Oonagh Brown. So... it was that bad, huh?
At least she was finally back to her senses regarding the hotness or lack thereof of Baird's brother. However, so soon after that experience, everything still felt off, and even standing in her nightclothes and a swimsuit at the edge of the lake made her dig her nails into her upper arms as she crossed her arms over her chest.
Koko's fingers waved loosely when Sage jumped in, but she remained on the shore of the lake, still staring at the glassy water.
She pointedly ignored Clark saying they had things to do. No shit. But she had no desire to be in the water with that piece of shit that dared to call itself a Hogwarts student. She rolled her wand against her arm and waited, eyes narrowed, lips pursed in fake thought.
And—finally, Atlas! Koko nodded in recognition, smiled and waved, the usual, before actually acknowledging that he was wearing a speedo to mirror Clark's. Was she the only one with any class?
The concern was quickly muted as Atlas, too, leapt into the lake. Koko stepped backwards to avoid being splashed and ran a hand through her blonde tresses to ensure they were still dry. Thank Merlin.
The next voice she heard, however, was Clark's, and her irises nearly did a full 360 as she heard him shouting. What the fuck was he on about this time, the weather? Her lips nearly drew into a sneer before she caught herself and simply smiled, her gaze cold. Why should she care if some creature ate Clark? They'd all be better for it. But... the others.
Oh, fuck it. She could at least help Sage and Atlas.
She finally took off her slippers and slunk into the lake, grimacing as the cold water lapped against her skin. She would really need to wash her hair after this. Keeping a firm grip on her wand, she swam towards the trio and grit her teeth. Seriously? Trouble already?
Koko let out a garbled sigh, due to being underwater, and pointed her wand at one of the merpeople. 'Diffindo,' she muttered, aiming at one of the incoming merpeople's tails. With any luck, that would do something.· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·

date- May 12th, 2025 interacting/mentioning- @Clark Baird, @Koko Riddle, @Atlas AndersonThe fact that one wrong move in the Great Lake could kill her hadn't been ignored by Sage. She felt like an idiot, standing two feet from danger. Or maybe that was just Clark Baird's presence. He'd been the one to rope them all into this, after all.
Greeted by Koko, she wasn't quite sure where Atlas was. Clark had beaten them all to the Lake. She had, however, seen how he stared at her leg. She ignored it. He seemed to do the same.
Sage felt as if she were in the presence of a ghost. The chill of the air, the dark depths of Hogwarts' Lake. Maybe it all wasn't so great. After diving into the murky waters, unsure if she'd been followed by the seventh year, the battles she'd been fighting mentally turned into physical danger.
The gillyweed in her mouth seemed to choke her, drowning her only hope of making it out of this lake in one piece. Clark, on the other hand, seemed to be faring something far worse than the gillyweed. Using her wand underwater felt futile. But she knew it might be her only chance of actually helping.
"Jaculor!" Sage called into the water, aiming at whatever had attacked Clark. Maybe she'd get lucky and this would be the only threat of danger.
She forced herself to kick to the surface, to breathe for a moment, following after Atlas and Clark. "What," she started, breathing heavily, "the hell was that?"
Sage would dive back down, wand held at the ready. Please don't let me die here, she thought. I really don't want to drown because of some stupid coven task.

@Koko Riddle @Atlas Anderson @Sage Willows @Clark BairdThe water continued to shine brightly, the sunlight reflecting harmful glares into the eyes of anyone who dared to look into the lake be they creature or human. The movement of a large fish-like creature was also a guaranteed sight, as were the two boys in speedos and the two girls who must think that the boys were top-tier insane. But under the water?
It almost seemed like an ambush for Koko as one of the merpeople grabbed her roughly around the shoulders, near her neck, their left hand covering her mouth and nose. They kept dragging her down further and deeper, and she would need to break free, however she seemed to be so weak, so unsuccessful in her attempt. Of course, that wasn't the only time she was unsuccessful, she also failed to get out of the way as a scratching merperson moved in on her.
They snarled and in the distance was a bubbly but hideous laughter, almost gruesome, as if someone was watching them die trying to fight mermen and mermaids.
A grueling howl and series of clicking would only escape the third merperson that swam behind Clark and bit into his tender flesh, the teeth jagged and rough, guaranteed to leave a mark. There was blood pooling around Clark, like a maroon misty cloud that only resided in the water.
Sage.. she did so well avoiding attacks in the previous few minutes, but it seemed the second she decided to cast a successful shooting spell, in where a pebble flew out with high speed, towards Merperson 4's forehead, it earned her a few slaps across the face. Normally it would be funny to watch someone get slapped with fish, and Sage 100 percent deserved it, but alas as a totally impartial onlooker, the merpeople must have wanted to protect themselves from some weird kids. Little did they know that Clark wanted to rip their scale out.
Oh, but speaking of someone who got lucky and suddenly turned unlucky.. the speedo twin, Atlas, tried so hard to cast his spell towards the one scratching Koko, but he failed, and ultimately missed the drowning girl, as his aim was way off.
We might need to enroll these people into a school of magic for more training. Oh. Wait. They are enrolled in a school of magic. Sigh. Fail these kids.Rolls

· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·If Koko had expected her wand to function underwater, she had been sorely mistaken. Her diffindo had hardly gone as intended, and she let out a small shriek that was thankfully dampened by the water. She focused on the wand in her hand, her amber eyes like sharp daggers, and so focused was she on the non-functioning, worthless stick in her hand, that when an arm wrapped around her, she could do very little but struggle in vain.
Her first instinct was to try and bite her attacker. Perhaps not the best idea—what if it had rabies?—but still an idea nonetheless. She barely stopped herself from doing so, and instead did her best to shove the merperson's arms off of her. She very quickly devolved into a growling mess when that approach did not work despite the effort her muscles screamed with. All her might—all her might (nat 20)—for nothing. By fucking Merlin, if she didn't work on strength training after this...
It was only as she unsuccessfully writhed in the merperson's grasp that she recalled what the goal of this stupid excursion was. Grab a fucking scale.
Well, close quarters would have to make it easy. Koko did her best to twist as much as she could in the merperson's grasp, fingers extended as she would do her best to reach for a scale. Maybe the surprise would make the merperson think twice about just grabbing her like that. Like, the audacity! Her rage fuelled her sudden turn towards physical violence as she attempted to find any scale at all on the merperson and pull.· · ─────── · 𖢨 · ─────── · ·
