When the boy mentioned he wanted to see it once she managed to transform into him, Novalie nodded eagerly, already picturing the look on his face when she pulled it off. Now she really, really wanted to succeed - if only to impress him.
“I’ll track you down the moment I'll manage to do it! I promise you'll frind it super cool - oh, wait - I have an idea! We could, like, totally trick people into thinking we’re twins or something! That'd be so fun!”

When he claimed he could be quite scary - and that, what? Her hair would turn green?! - the Ravenclaw clapped her hands with pure excitement, “Oh my god, yes!!”
She gasped, eyes wide, clearly loving the idea. Novalie had never managed to make her hair green before, and now she just had to see how it looked - especially since it was certainly the complete opposite of her usual red.
“Okay, I’m totally counting on you! So try your best, okay?”, she grinned.

The girl leaned her head to the side when her new friend mentioned it probably being annoying that her appearance might give away emotions she wanted to hide, like sadness or anger. However, she blinked, not quite getting it.
“Secretly? Why would I feel something secretly?”
To her it made no sense. If she felt something, she simply felt it. Why would she feel the need to hide it? Social cues like not crying in public or masking anger to be polite were yet completely foreign concepts to her., so for Novalie, honesty - especially with emotions - was just the way things were and should be. Though... now that she thought about it, her older brother once told her never to let people know her next move. Did the blonde mean that?
“Uh...”
Trying to come up with something unpredictable on the spot, she scooped up a handful of lake water, shoved it to her mouth, and took a huge sip. Of course this led her to shiver due to the - surprisingly weird tasting - water still being cold. But she didn’t stop smiling, instead, Novalie made a delighted 'Ah!' sound, like one would make after drinking something extremely tasty on a hot summer day, and shot him a thumbs up.

During their rap talk, Novalie shared with passion,
“Yeah so, like, Toyota is a car brand, and Yaris is one of its models. But Urus -”
She widened her eyes and threw her arms up theatrically like she was presenting something incredible,
“- that’s a Lambo! Like, you know, a Lamborghini? Only rich people have those. They’re the best!”
Letting her hands sink back into the water, the Ravenclaw smiled as she watched the ripples dance around at her skin,
“But Liam told me that in Japan, they tune their Toyotas and make them even faster than Lambos. So I think I’d wanna drive a Toyota someday if I can afford it.”

And about instruments for their epic rap sessions?
“Oh! I almost forgot - but yes, you’re totally right!”, she nodded, “We’ll find someone to play for us. Or, even better, maybe someone who can beatbox! That’d be so sick! Just imagine!”
As the other student examined the phone, Novalie started squeezing water from her hair and listened to him agreeing to visit London together someday.
But - did he say he lived there? Then how did he not know basic tech stuff?
“Do you live in, like, a cave in some back alley of London or something?”, she asked, completely unbothered by how that might have sounded, instantly picturing him with animal fur as clothes and a long stick to hunt for food.
Oh damn. He had to be really poor.
Shooting him a pitiful glance, she decided to not press further right now.
Looking at the phone again, Novalie shrugged, “I doubt it’ll work anymore, though. Water and electronics also don’t mix - kinda like the magic air you told me about.”
The girl tapped her chin thoughtfully, “But a friend of mine once told me you can put it in rice and it might fix it somehow? Never tried it myself honestly, but they wore glasses, so they had to be right.”
Because, obviously, people who wore glasses were always smart.
“You should totally wear glasses, too.”

Then, switching the topic once again without missing a beat, she added brightly,
“Let’s go on a weekend, though. Christmas break’s forever away, right? How about the upcoming Saturday?”

Speech
The more he had lingered on the thought, the more confident he had become in his opinion on seeing somebody mirror his appearance. It would in fact be cool. Though, there was certainly a risk of somebody doing nefarious deeds whilst disguised as him, but Edwin felt confident that wouldn't be the case. Her planning of acting as twins was interesting enough, and he nodded his head eagerly. "Sounds like a plan then!" He said, certain that she would be able to do it soon enough! Afterall, how hard could it really be?

The eager nodding of his head continued as she expressed interest in his scare plan, though he himself remained silent, his mind already racing between ideas, trying to grasp onto some kind of concrete plan for how to scare somebody who was aware of a plot to scare them. It was quite the predicament for Edwin, but he, rather uncharacteristically, persisted in trying to come up with something as she continued to speak. "I will," He mumbled, the words barley distringuishable due to how quietly he had mumbled.

He was drawn from his thoughts, not yet able to hatch his nefarious plan, when she asked about why someone may with to hide their feelings. His expression shifted quickly between confusion then rather dramatically a look of despair, rather ironically displaying his own lack of ability to hide his feelings. "You know, like.. Someone asks a really dumb questi- Oh that's a bad example." He scowled, momentarily worried she may infer that as her question being the dumb one. "Somebody.. Does something that you don't like, but you don't want to draw any attention to something, you might want to hide that you're annoyed or sad in the situation, as if they notice it may only make matters worse." He concluded just as she, seemingly no reason, scooped a handful of water into her mouth. His jaw, quite literally, dropped at the sight, a look of pure horror passing over his expression, incredibly aware of how many nasty germs likely existed within the lake, which drew another conclusion that he would likely get ill after having spent so much time wet and cold, sat in the lake. His eyes were briefly drew to her thumbs up, raising his own thumb after a brief moment of hesitation, the look of confusion and horror not yet having left his expression.

"Car brands.." He echoed with a slight nod of his head, recalling the different shapes of automobiles that he had seen in passing, though never having spent studying them to have noticed the different logos. "So.." He once more hesitated as she continued to explain the differences. "A lamborgheknee," He began, not quite managing with the pronunication. "is a firebolt, whilst a Toyota is a... I don't know what is faster than a firebolt. But if it's faster, why is that not the rich person vehicle? If I get my parents to buy a broom, they'll be buying me the fastest one possible."

"I do wonder about those automobiles though. Whilst not able to fly, which would make them rather inconvinent, it does seem useful to be able to fit so many people into them. How fast can those Toyotas go then?" He asked, having only seen the stop and start nature, or cars crawling through London traffic, not yet having seen a car properly reach any kind of signifiant speed.

"Beat.. Box?" He questioned, glancing over towards her blankly. After a brief moment, he gasped dramatically, one hand clutching over his heart at the insinuation that he lived in a back alley, though the slightest upward curl at the edges of his lips betrayed that he wasn't bothered by the comment. "No, I live in a busy area but I just don't actually go out into the city often." He shrugged. "Dunno what's fun to there, so I'd rather spend time at our otherhome whens convinent, because I can fly with my brothers there, or have my mum do something magic for me.. Can't exactly do any of that in London."

"Why do water and electro.." He then shivered. "Me and water are not mixing well it seems." He muttered, slowly beginning to edge back towards the land, not that it was particularly far away. "It'd be a shame if it didn't work though.. Maybe one of us should try find the kitchen, and ask for some rice then.." He then frowned. "Rice fixes electronics..? This whole electronics stuff makes no sense." He muttered beneath his breath.

"And no glasses for me! I have exceptional vision. Perfect one may even say!" He did not.

"Weekend wouldn't work for me," He shook his head as he stepped out of the water, continuing to shiver. "Too far to travel, and I don't even know when or if we're allowed away at weekends.. We'll sort something over a holiday! But for now, I believe I am going to freeze to death." He said, his expression entierly serious despite the absurdity of his claim.

Novalie listened quietly as her new friend explained why someone might want to hide their feelings. She didn’t mind at all when he abandoned his first example in favor of another - though, the girl didn’t really understand why the first would have been bad, but she just shrugged it off and focused on what he was saying instead.
“Yeah, that makes sense.”, she nodded after a moment, recalling how sometimes her own honest tongue made people unpredictably furious. Like that time she had suggested to another Ravenclaw that they could pick a new hobby to replace their reading (since, obviously, it was the most boring thing in the world), but instead of just declining and moving on - which Novalie would have accepted easily - she never actually judged anyone’s weird hobbies - they’d snapped at her to mind her own business. Though, .. she hadn’t minded that they got angry. If anything, it told her reading must be extremely important to them. For whatever abnormal reason.
“I’ll have to think about this hiding-your-feelings thing a bit more to get to the bottom of it, I guess.”, the Metamorph concluded, although with her hair and eyes constantly shifting with the the spinning of her inner world, she wasn’t sure she’d ever be able to do this in the first place.

When her new friend asked why rich people didn’t just buy Toyotas even if they could be faster and compared them to brooms, Novalie paused, looking up at the sky.
“Uhm...”, she frowned in concentration.
Yeah - why didn’t rich people just buy Toyotas?
After a few seconds, her gaze turned back to him with a confident nod,
“Probably because they’re lazy or something. Like, Toyotas don’t start out super fast or anything, so you have to, you know, tune them up to beat a Lambo. But a Lambo is, like, super fast right away. Rich people can’t be bothered making a Toyota fast themselves.”
That sounded logical enough, though it made her wonder - could you tune a broom the same way? Add runes or enchantments to make it even quicker? She’d have to ask him about that later, he really did know so much about the magical world!
Novalie turned her attention back to the question of how fast a Toyota could actually go. Honestly, she wasn’t sure. She’d never driven one, and she was nowhere close to having a license. But she’d heard Malic, her older brother, talking about it a few times while driving on the highway, even if he didn’t own a Toyota but another brand.
So... how fast were they really? 200? 250? Was that speed or PS? Wait, if it was a racing car, it had to be more, right?
“If it’s tuned, then .. at least, a thousand kilometers an hour!” , she claimed, wildly exaggerating and believing it completely herself in the moment, “That’s, like, really fast!”

The Metamorph nodded in understanding when the Gryffindor said he couldn’t really do magic in London, as she’d never seen anyone using it there. It still baffled her however how he knew so little about Muggle stuff if he’d grown up around it.
“There’s lots of fun there!”, she said brightly with a wide grin when he mentioned he didn’t know what was so great about visiting the city of London, “Don’t worry, I’ll show you everything once we go!”
When the boy started wading back toward the shore, Novalie followed, happy enough that they’d at least found the phone. Sadly, there had been no sign of the giant squid. Maybe fate had decided that today simply wasn’t the day for this particular adventure. Her legs pushed through the shallows until she was back on solid, dry ground. She wrung some water out of her hair again, shivering when the evening breeze hit her damp skin.
“I agree.”, the girl chimed in when he said electronics didn’t make sense.
Honestly, most electronic things didn’t make sense to her either - especially how they worked, “Maybe rice has magic in its own way and can help wet phones even with all this magical air. I’ll ask a professor about it.”

When the boy claimed that his view was exceptional, Novalie believed him without a shred of doubt, however, her face fell slightly when he explained he couldn’t go to London that weekend - apparently, it was too far off, and they didn't know if they were even allowed to go. Hogwarts sure had a ton of unnecessary rules.
“Fine, holiday it is, then.”, Novalie declared, stretching her arms over her head.
Wait .. hadn't she planned something for winter break already? She couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but ah, whatever - they’d figure something out.
Her head snapped back to him when he claimed he was freezing to death, her eyes going huge.
“Wait - really, you’re dying?!”, she gasped, “Let's rush back then, quick!”
Without another word, she took off running across the grass, waving for the boy, she didn't even know the name of, to hurry.
“Come on! And don't pass out, okay?”
