It was a warm, sunny day in the Hogwarts grounds and Lily McCoire was so happy to be back at the place she had called home. She had arrived back from Ilvermorny a couple weeks ago and being in America for a year had taken a toll on her. All her old friends were back here and she hadn't made many back there. She had made one: Alphonse Toussaint and the funny thing was his mother was the Herbology teacher here at Hogwarts! It made her wonder why he was in America when his mom was here. But then again other people might wander why she was in America when all her family was in Britain and Scotland. But that didn't matter.
Right now Lily was walking around the lake enjoying the cooler air when she noticed one of her old friends, Landon Matthews. The two weren't close, close they were mere acquaintances since she had met him a little before she left for Ilvermorny. She smiled a little and walked over to him. "Landon! It's been awhile. How have you been?" Lily asked, staying polite and friendly as she tried to seem like her old self. It was hard, but she'd try to manage it as best she could.

Landon was sitting near the lake, his nose in a history book as per usual. He enjoyed the nicer weather and tried to be outside as much as possible when the weather was this good. He had already been out on his broom for a little while today too, but he wanted to relax now. He smiled and flipped a page in his book. It was about the Gargoyle Strike of 1911, something the students had learned about back in their first year at Hogwarts. Landon hadn't done as much research on the topic back then, still adjusting to life at Hogwarts, so now he was just enjoying the book.
Landon was flipping another page when he heard someone call his name and he looked up. He smiled, always friendly, before he realized who it was and smiled a little wider. He hadn't known Lily very well, but he did remember her. She had been gone for a while in America, if he remembered correctly, so they hadn't talked much in a while, but he wanted to be friendly to her nonetheless. "Lily, right?" he questioned, just wanting to be sure. He hadn't been very close to her, and he wanted to be sure he was calling her the right name. "You went to America, right?" he asked curiously. "I've been good, just reading my history books and playing Quidditch, as per usual," he said with a smile. "I'm pretty predictable. You?" he asked.
