Spring. The snow has melted, flowers have bloomed, and the creatures have woken up from their hibernation. A change in scenery from all-white to colourful, made the Ravenclaw boy hummed on his way from the Racing Tracks after watching the flying practice from Ravenclaw Broom Racing Team. The euphoria from winning the Winter Games was still in him. His mind was still full of any possible tactics that he could use in the next Spring Game.

He passed the Quidditch Training Pitch and couldn't help but notice someone, a person who was very familiar to him. The boy tilted his head, looking at him for some seconds. His mind told him that he should, at least, greet this person. Looking at the sun in the sky, he made a rough calculation. "I still have some time," he smiled. He directed his feet to the training pitch, seeing the person flying.

He sat on a free bench. There were only a few students there. He observed the boy, noting how he flew in his mind. Envy. Zach wished he could fly as free as him. If only he didn't have the fear, he might fly with the rest of the Ravenclaw Broom Racing team. But he really couldn't do anything for now, only hoping that he might overcome the fear one day.

Once the boy finished his flight, Zach approached him. "Hi," smiled.

─────Landon took a deep breath of the fresh air, smiling as the air filled his lungs. He glad that winter was done and over with, though you never knew, the weather could change unexpectedly and there could be another snowfall. But right now, the flowers and trees were colorful and Landon was happy. He hadn't been able to really fly for fun all winter, and now he was going to take advantage of the spring weather while he could.

Grabbing his trusty Silver Arrow and tugging on a denim jacket, Landon smiled excitedly. Was he dressed the best for flying? Not really, but he wasn't trying to do anything but have a little fun. It wasn't nice enough out for him to go without a jacket yet, especially when he was hoping to zoom around the Quidditch Training Pitch on his broom. The jacket would keep him warm from the breeze. He quickly made his way out of his dorm and out to the Quidditch Training Pitch, breaking out into a run as he neared it. He was so excited to fly again, this time without the cold from winter like he had felt during the last Quidditch match.

Landon quickly mounted his broom and kicked off the ground when he made it to the Quidditch Training Pitch, letting out a whoop of excitement as he flew into the air. Landon normally was pretty quiet, but when alone and excited, he wasn't afraid to let out an excited sound. He flew circles around the pitch, smiling widely as he flew. He was so happy with his feet off the ground and up in the air. He flew around for a while, circling the goal posts on either side of the pitch as he flew.

Eventually, Landon pointed his broom toward the ground and landed on the ground. He had a wide smile on his face as he landed. It was so freeing to be outside and flying again. Landon turned when he heard a voice, his smile falling slightly as he realized he wasn't alone, before it widened again when he recognized who it was. "Oh, hi Zach!" he said, walking toward him while holding his broom. "What are you doing here?" he asked curiously.

Zach took a quick glance at his appearance, a denim jacket and a broom. He seemed different. It was Landon's style, but Zach couldn't help but notice something that he, himself, didn't know. He fixed his silver glasses and cleared his throat. "Nothing. I just saw you flying and decided to stay."

The cool breeze of the past winter could be still felt, making Zach hold his beige jacket tightly. "It's nice weather to practice flying," he scratched his head before continuing, "So... You are practising for the next Spring Game?" Zach asked. It was just a wild guess. Using the Quidditch Training Pitch could mean that Landon is one of the Quidditch players. But Zach wasn't sure since he hadn't watched any Quidditch games lately. The last was when he was a first year. Other than that, he took more focus on the broom racing.

His eyes looked at the broom again. "Is it Silver Arrow?" Zach asked. The broom was really popular in broom racing. Many of them used it since it was very handy when it was used to evade the obstacles. Zach of course never tried it. Even on the school broom, he still had his fear. Most of his classmates must know how bad he was in the flying class. Zach couldn't help it but he still felt bad whenever he caused a ruckus in the class.

Landon let out a sigh of relief as he heard Zach say that he only saw when Landon was in the sky. He was grateful, because he would have been very embarrassed if Zach saw him let out a whoop of excitement. "Oh good," he said with a smile. He looked at Zach while running a hand through his own hair to try and straighten it up a little after the wind had blown it all out of sorts. The breeze pushed his hair back into its messy array and Landon gave up on trying to make it look nice and neat. The fresh air was too nice to really be upset about it.

Landon smiled and looked at Zach. "You should definitely come to a game some time. Even if it's not a Hufflepuff match, it is a lot of fun to watch... though it has to be good weather for the day, or it's not as much fun to watch or to play. I should go to more broom races, but they make me anxious. It looks so dangerous!" he said, his blue eyes wide. He knew that Zach was involved with broom racing to some capacity, but he didn't know much about it. He flushed slightly, his cheeks a pretty shade of pink, when Zach said that his flying skill was really good. "Thank you," he said, smiling happily. He always got a little flustered with compliments. "I've practiced a lot, because I wasn't always all that great at flying."

Landon grinned. "I really want a Firebolt," he admitted. "But my Silver Arrow is great and I really do love it," he admitted. Some people named their brooms, but he wasn't really the type to do so. Still, he was happy to have his Silver Arrow. Landon looked at Zach. "What kind of broom do you have?" he asked curiously. He didn't mean to be nosy, but he was curious.

Landon frowned. "I mean... not being able to fly in front of a lot of people is different than not being able to fly when you are alone or almost alone," he observed. "Is it a fear of heights? Of falling? Or is it stage fright?" he questioned. He shook his head. "Sorry, I don't mean to be pushy. I'm just genuinely curious." He smiled softly. "Do you want to be able to fly or would you rather not?" he asked. He didn't to pressure Zach, but he wanted Zach's honest answer.

"If you want to learn to fly, I can try to help?" he offered. "We'd start really slow," he added. He didn't want Zach to be worried that they would go fast. "We can stay really low to the ground until you feel comfortable."

Zach tilted his head. "Uh... I don't know. When you are already in the sky, maybe," Zach answered. The real thing was, Zach wanted to get closer to his peers in the same year. He realized that he actually doesn't really have many friends. And seeing people flying was always exciting for him despite his inability to fly.

The fact that he just knew Landon is a Quidditch player validates the statement above. He didn't know his peers really well. He was too busy. Perhaps he should detach his extraculillars little by little. "That's cool!" Zach smiled with excitement. "I haven't gone to any Quidditch matches lately. Last time was when I was a first year." Zach scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "But I can say that your flying skill is really good." He grinned. His eyes became narrower, making him look like a fox. "I wish I could fly like you someday," Zach added. This time, his tone was a bit lower. His smile became softer.

"Firebolt?!" He squeaked. That broom was the dream of many students. It was so fast, neat, and easy to control. It definitely gave the rider advantages when they flew with it. "Indeed. Please don't compare it to a school broom," he swished his hands, chuckling lightly. If he wasn't the co-captain of Ravenclaw broom racing, he wouldn't know anything about brooms and flying. He felt grateful that he had taken the application and passed the test, even though he had never flown before when they practised.

It was a fun talk until Landon asked the forbidden thing. "Huh?" Zach couldn't believe himself. "Do you know how bad I am at flying?" It was a fact that Zach was really bad at flying at some point, he gave up. He was too scared to fly. His body couldn't accept it. "You have seen me in flying class, right?"

The boy nodded. He really should make some time to watch the sports. He had trapped himself in an exhausting extracurricular schedule, which made him easily tired and he didn't have enough time to just enjoy the day. Though he had released them one by one. Burnt out was one of the reason behind his stepping down. However, it was still a good start for him to have time for himself, to know his friends better. "I will try to watch the next Quidditch game," Zach grinned. His white and neat teeth reflected the light of the sun a little bit. "Well, I do hope the next Quiddith game is held in nice weather." The boy added it to his mental to-do list, along with 'studying Quidditch rules'.

A giggle accidentally came out of his mouth. "Yeah. Sometimes we have dangerous things like trees or creatures. The racers must pass them while attacking or defending. A chaotic sport, it is. But it is the same as Quidditch and even Duelling. All the wizarding sports are crazy. Wrong calculation, and you would be dead." He was exaggerating, of course. The nurse in the school was more than capable of treating most of the injury in the school.

When Zach heard the humble statement from Landon, Zach shook his head and smiled. "No. You look really good at flying." He tried to deliver his compliment to Landon.

The talk about the broom still continued. Landon asked what broom Zach had. "My mom got me a Silver Arrow. She's actually really clueless about the broom since she's a Muggle. So she just asked the suggestions from other Wizards' parents when we are shopping. I have told her not to buy me a broom, tho. But she insisted." Zach shrugged. The boy was really actually spoiled but he wasn't a spoiled boy, thanks to his grandfather. His harsh comments shaped the way Zach now.

The boy also listened to Landon carefully when he tried to dissect Zach's fear. What he said makes sense. "You're right. But I already have it since I was a kid." Zach said. "It's the fear of heights. I just... have an uncomfortable feeling when I was up above. My mom said that I had passed out in an amusement park." He remembered something. "You know amusement park, right?" Some students didn't live in a Muggle neighbourhood, which sometimes made them look confused about what Zach said.

Zach stopped for some moments, thinking whether he really wanted to be able to fly. "I..." He took another time. His hands were tangled and he couldn't stop when he was panicked. He took a deep breath, which was the way his grandfather told him if he got panicked. "I do. I do want to be able to fly like the others." Zach looked down shyly.

The Ravenclaw was once again surprised by the offer. Would he be really okay? Zach thought longer before he nodded. Zach needed to learn how to fight his fear after all. "Then, I will be in your care." Zach smiled nervously. "What should I do?"

Landon smiled and nodded as Zach spoke about hoping the next Quidditch game was in nicer weather. "Yes, I hope so too. It was rough last time, even though I was on the bench. It was miserable for everyone involved," he observed. He didn't feel any happiness thinking of the last game; Hufflepuff had lost and they all had been miserable with the pouring rain. Landon didn't mind the rain normally, but sitting in it with nothing to keep him dry was rough.

Landon grinned as he heard Zach giggle a little. "You are right; all of the sports are a bit scary when you let yourself think too much about it," he admitted. "I am really grateful we have a good nurse, even if I do my very best to avoid visiting the nurse. I don't like to be in pain and I don't like to be a burden, so I do my best to avoid it." Landon didn't like to think about the dangerous nature of the sports, though he admitted that he felt a little exhilarated when it came to knowing the danger of bludgers during Quidditch.

Landon flushed a little as Zach said he looked really good at flying. He rubbed the back of his neck, giving Zach a shy smile. "Thank you," he said, grateful for the compliment. He was happy to hear that people thought he was doing a good job. Landon tried really hard to be good at Quidditch and flying.

Another smile graced Landon's features as Zach told him about his broom and his mom. "I'm sure your mother is great," he said. "She sounds like a good mom, and she supports you even when she doesn't understand things, which is wonderful," he added softly. "And she has to be a good mom because you are a good person, as far as I can tell."

Landon listened to Zach eagerly as Zach spoke. He wanted to understand his friend's fear of flying, and maybe help him with it, though he would back off if Zach didn't want to work on the fear too. "Fear of heights is really common," he said with a smile. "Honestly, I understand. It's hard doing stuff with your feet not on the ground. It feels uncomfortable and scary," he added. He raised an eyebrow as Zach mentioned an amusement park. "I... I think I've heard of them, but I've never been to one. Those are the places with the rolly coasties, right?" he asked curiously. He was sure he said the name wrong, but he didn't know much about them to make sure he said the name correctly.

Landon frowned a little as he sensed the panic that Zach was feeling. "We don't have to do anything, if you don't want to! I don't want you to feel pressured." Landon heard Zach say he wanted to be able to fly and he grinned. "We can take it really slowly. You will have to lean into the fear a little to fight it, but we will keep you close to the ground until you feel comfortable. Sometimes it takes having a friend to help you overcome a fear."

Landon hummed softly and looked at Zach. "First things first, you know how to mount a broom, right?" he asked. "I mean, the basics?" Landon didn't want to make Zach feel stupid, but he wanted to be sure that they were starting on the same foot. "I would suggest mounting the broom and just... hovering slightly off the ground, with your toes still touching the grass," he suggested. He wasn't sure if he was being helpful or annoying.

"Thank you," Zach replied. He was grateful that there was someone who wanted to tutor him to fly, even though Zach's bad flying was pretty obvious in their flying class. Perhaps this private learning could help. Zach never asked anyone to help him. Besides having a heavy schedule, he was also afraid that he would just be a burden to his friends. They would not only have to deal with Zach's poor flying skills, but also his fear of heights that still haunts him to this day. Even Zach himself was pretty tired of it, he almost gave up on even trying to fly.

But he saw a hope in front of him.

Zach listened to Landon. "Uh-huh... I know the basics. But even the basics, I always fail at it." His face showed helplessness. Though in fact it wasn't always like that, almost all of his attempts to ride a broom were failures. Nothing he could be proud of in his flying class or flying skill besides captaining the broom racing team. And he believed it shouldn't be considered as flying skills. "So... uh... just mounting on the broom with my toes still on the ground." Zach nodded. He kept looking at Landon, listening to every word that came out of the boy's lips. "What if the broom suddenly flies high or flips me over?" He winced, imagining all the bad things in his head. "I'm... still afraid. Those must be painful. I can imagine it in my mind..."

Landon wished everyone understood the joy and freedom of flying, but he also knew that it could be pretty scary for some people. Some people were just better suited to being on the ground, and Landon wouldn't make fun of Zach if he couldn't get comfortable with the thought of being in the air. He smiled encouragingly at Zach as Zach thanked him. "Please don't feel pressured though. If you are too scared or anxious, or you just feel like you don't want to do this right now, we stop and I won't pressure you into anything," he said. He was nervous about making Zach uncomfortable. He didn't want to scare his friend.

Landon placed a hand on Zach's back comfortingly when Zach talked about always failing. "Part of it is that you go into it automatically thinking you will fail," he said wisely. "If you think you are going to fail, then you are more likely to fail," he added. He didn't want Zach to give up already, but he understood being scared. His twin was terrified of the water, always scared of drowning. Landon himself was scared of blood and spiders and... well, the fear of blood was embarrassing because he passed out when he saw it. Though he could handle his own blood a bit better than the blood of his friends.

Landon looked at Zach with genuine concern, his eyes gentle. "I will take care of you," he said softly. "I'll stay close by, I promise," he added. He really didn't want to make Zach nervous and he wanted to be helpful. "And like I said, if you change your mind and don't want to try this right now, you don't have to. I never want you to feel forced to do this."

Landon stayed close to Zach, trying to be a comforting presence. "We will only do what you want to do, okay?"
