This RP takes place the day students leave Hogwarts for Christmas Break.
Adlai had walked to the meeting spot she had scheduled with her friend, @Virgil Lee. She wore a long copper colored skirt, a black button up shirt with a brown wool sweater on top of it. And of course she had on a lovely coal colored hijab.

By her side was her trunk and in her hands was a brown paper bag with a blue ribbon tied around it. Inside the paper bag was a gift Adlai had made for Virgil, she had made a gift for everyone of her friends she had made so far this school year. She wanted to give them their gifts in person, to have them be more genuine.

She hoped Virgil would like her gift. After all she had spent the last few weeks making them, though it was a good excuse to put off homework, even if it did pile up in the end and she had to rush to get them all done in time. Nonetheless she enjoyed surprising her friends. Although she wasn’t sure if she was the best gift giver.

She recalled the one time she had made a gift for her aunt, Viktoria-Margaret. She sneered and took it but Adlai had never seen it after that encounter. Adlai never knew why her aunt was so cold to her, she wanted to know why, what she could have done wrong. But Adlai brushed it aside and continued to wait for her dear friend.

[quote]Dragging his trunk, Virgil makes his way towards the direction the other students that would be leaving Hogwarts for winter break are going, in search of the Express. He walks rather slowly, scared he might fall due to the grounds being covered in snow. It's chilly now; the sky is a pale shade of blue, there's no warm sun up there, and the entire school had fallen in that white look, towers covered in snow.

It's finally cold to the point the boy hides beneath a heavy and warm coat, face almost entirely covered by the green and silver scarf representing his house. So cold, in fact, that the often insanely cold dungeons feel warm, just like a summer dream. He likes the cold. A lot, really. But what he hates the most is getting sick, so the boy doesn't even dare to play around.

He's a bit late to meet his friend Adlai Rod, which is rare. Virgil found himself worried that he had all of his belongings back on his trunk, not wanting to leave them rolling around the dungeons, which made him take a lot of time running across his dorm, looking for everything, while his dormmates gave him weird glances. The boy tells himself she wouldn't mind that, shutting his anxiety up.

Walking across the grounds, eyes moving from face to face, he finally spots Adlai in a long skirt and a coal-colored headscarf. Smiling a bit, the boy hops towards her, almost slipping once he gets close enough.

"Addie, hi!" says Virgil, in a soft tone, "Sorry, I'm late."

“Oh no it’s perfectly fine!” She exclaims excited to see her friend had come. “It’s been so cold recently that everyone has become so sluggish. I don’t blame them though the cold makes me sleepy.” She says as she watches the other students drag their trunks behind them.

“I have something for you!” Adlai holds the paper bag out to Virgil for him to serve. It was crinkled but still intact which was good. The ribbon was a little messed up with side being longer than the other.
Adlai had a proud smile on her face, this was the first time she had wrapped something on her own.
“My family doesn’t celebrate Christmas but I still wanted to give you something.” She added.

“I hope you have fun with your family. Make sure to write to me and tell how your break is. I’m sure I’ll write to you. Maybe I can send you some photos though they won’t move like the ones here do.” She rambled on. She knew she’d bring some muggle things back to Hogwarts once the break was through, like her tennis rackets, magazines and tape recorder; well if her tape recorder would even work here.

[quote]He takes the paper bag with both of his hands and bows shortly, that politeness his father instilled in him very present. Virgil looks at it, already excited to open it, but he doesn't move, almost hearing his mother's strict tone telling him that he should never do that, so he just smiles back at the girl, very thankful, and a bit embarrassed for not having anything at the moment.

"Oh, muito obrigado!" The boy chirps in Portuguese, excitedly, now giving a look at the students starting to get inside the Express, then he corrects himself, "I mean, thanks!"

A blow of wind punches his scarf away from his face, revealing his burning cheeks and chapped lips. Virgil has a terrible reaction to cold; his hands get pale to the point that his veins, purple and blue are visible, all the color from his face is drained and he'd look almost dead if not for the burning cheeks.

The boy shivers due to the cold and hides his face again, shoving his hands in his pockets. Virgil adds, voice breaking as he shakes from his head to toes, "I-I will write to you, too and send your gift, of course! Hopefully, I'll do something interesting this break!"

“No problem!” Adlai exclaims happy to see her friend is thankful for the gift, though she wished he’d open it. She wants to see his reaction to it. Some boys would take the gift as a bit girly or for babies but Adlai thought it was a perfect.

“Well...I guess I’ll see you soon. I hope you have fun.” She said picking up her trunk and hugged Virgil goodbye before she took her first step towards the direction of the station. Footprints lined the grounds along with the faint outlines of long winter robes and snow angles. Adlai felt bad for the children who didn’t get to go home for the holidays. She didn’t know what she’d do if she didn’t.

Celebrating a holiday without family would be very hard on her, but she’d have to experience that thus year with some Islamic holidays taking place while she was at school. Hopefully she’d be able to find some friends to celebrate with her, so that she wouldn’t be so lonely. But she didn’t know any other Muslims at Hogwarts, or at least she thought she didn’t.
But that wizarding world of changing and she thought perhaps later on she’d meet someone of her same faith.
