Kerry blinked, looking from their hands up to her. “I… I dunno.” He smiled softly and said, “But I like it and I hope I get to feel it again…” he then cleared his throat at how embarrassed he felt and shifted in his seat. “I can understand why people might judge you for your past, but you don’t really have to worry about that with me. And now you officially have a friend in me, okay? No matter what house… I’ll make sure that you’re safe.”

He looked in her eyes, feeling the intensity between the two of them that he’d never felt before. “Are you close with your sister? Haley and I are like joined to the hip… She was so sad when I left for Hogwarts, she wanted to get on the train with me. But Dad told her she was too young.”

Hearing her talk about the book, he smiled and said, “Well, I’m sure there’s gotta be something. I mean… those other traits are pretty good. Let’s go back even further and study Helga Hufflepuff. Then we can do the same with your house’s leader. There had to be some good in him.”

He flipped the pages and read, “Helga took students that had loyalty, patience, tolerance, and those who were hard working. She had a gift for charms that had to do with food and her recipes are still used for most of the Hogwarts feasts. That’s pretty cool!” he said, looking up at her. “She also apparently arranged for the house elves to work in the kitchens and gave them somewhere safe where they wouldn’t be mistreated or abused. Okay… that part’s pretty awesome. House elves are incredible.”

Aurelia couldn't help the burning she felt in her cheeks when he admitted that he liked it, she couldn't lie though, so did she. But the fact still remained that neither one of them knew what the feeling or sensation was and why it was occuring. She shrugged her shoulders and nodded, "I hope we can feel it again to." She stated, feeling less embarrassed about the feeling than before because he felt the same as she did. "I really appreciate that.."

She looked back into his eyes, with the same intensity that he was watching her and it made her smile softly, "Yeah, we're really close, we're real close with our aunt to." She explained, "That's so sweet my sister wasn't able to come with me to King's Cross, in fact, I came alone." She said, she noticed his blue eyes and got lost in them for a few minutes, before coming back to her senses when he mentioned the book, she blinked a couple times and nodded as she listened, "Sounds like a plan!"

She leaned slightly closer to Kerry, her arm brushing against his as she looked into the book whilst he was reading, following the words with her eyes. A bit of her long hair fell over her shoulder thanks to the fact that she was looking down, creating a slight curtain of hair hiding her face from Kerry's, which was honestly fine cause she was blushing again. "Helga sounds like she was wonderful." She said.

Kerry grinned seeing the blushing. He liked that he had the power to do that sort of thing to someone. He hadn’t really been able to do anything like that before, at least not in a good way. He looked back in her eyes and smiled. “I’m glad you have a close family, in spite of of everything that happened with your parents. Mine are… divorced. Mum couldn’t handle the secret wizarding world so she stayed in Cork, Ireland while we all went to Hogsmeade in August to get our school supplies and stuff. Dad works for the wizengamot so we just kinda… found a house there.”

He then felt her leaning against his arm and smiled, liking the feeling. “She does, huh?” He continued reading and said, “A relic of the Hufflepuff’s was a small golden cup that had been passed down to her distant descendant. He said the cup had some magical powers that hadn’t been been really tested. The cup was stolen by Tom Riddle who made the Cup into a Horcrux. But Hermione Granger destroyed it with a basillisk fang during the Battle of Hogwarts.”

Kerry sighed as he leaned back. "I mean... I guess she's not all that bad. I can live with that kinda legacy, right? Wanna look at Salazar Slytherin?"

Aurelia listened intently as he spoke and gave his hand a squeeze, "It must have been awful, having your parents separated like that? Whilst my family isn't the best role model, my parents did love me and my sister, even if they weren't open about it. After all, if they didn't they wouldn't have had us nor would they have continued to save money for me and my sister so we'd never go without." She continued to listen and smiled softly, "Living in Hogsmeade? Wow that must be wonderful, I think when I'm older I might get a house there." She admitted in the midst of a thought.

Despite the fact that her heart was racing at the slightest touch of arms she continued to stay there as she was quite interested in Helga Hufflepuff. She sounded like a very interesting woman, "Wow, I completely forgot about that. I've never really been that interesting in the life of the boy who lived." She said quietly.

Aurelia shook her head and smiled, "While I would like to know the great adventures of Salazar Slytherin I've heard only bad things, such as the Chamber of Secrets and even the fact that he wasn't very supportive of muggleborns and half bloods, I don't really wanna read up on someone so negative, its bad enough that I am associated with such negativity thanks to my parents."

Kerry smiled as she squeezed his hand. “Thanks… It was horrible, them splitting up like that. But Dad is taking great care of us and everything’s working out okay…” Though he still missed his mom sometimes, of course. “I do see her the odd holiday, so it’s not like she’s not still a part of my life. But it is different, for sure.” Kerry nodded as she talked about her parents. “Sometimes, parents show love in different ways. It’s good to hear they still provided for you.”

He grinned then as he thought about his father’s house. “Yeah! My father works at the Wizengamot so it just makes sense. It’s a great place… and we get to talk about magic all we want which is the best thing. We don’t have to hide it anymore.”

Kerry nodded as she said that she didn’t want to read about Salazar. “Okay… if you don’t wanna read about him, what do you want to do?” He was at a loss for what to talk about now, and his shyness was coming back as he too felt that weird feeling being around her. What on earth was going on? He would have to owl his father about this later.

Aurelia watched him as he spoke, getting lost in the ocean of his blue eyes once again. She gave a soft smiled and nodded, "I'm glad they still care even if its only a little." She sighed and looked down, "Its a shame I'll never see them again though, they're in Azkaban."

Shrugging her shoulders she changed the subject, "Anyway, how are your classes going? Have you been enjoying yourself since you started or no? Have you made many friends?" She was genuinely interested, finally looking away from his eyes and leaning back in her cosy seat again she waited for his response to her question.

She shrugged her shoulders and thought for a second, "We could study some for classes? Or we could go for a walk somewhere, or we could even learn more about each other, I'd love to get to know you some more." She admitted, blushing a little as she did. Upon hearing his decision she nodded in agreement, "We'll do that then!" She adjusted her position in her seat, so as to prepare herself for what they intended to do as she waited for him to also be ready. She stretched out her back and grinned, listening to what he had to say.

Kerry listened to her as she talked about her parents. He frowned a bit and said, “I’m sorry to hear that you’ll never get to see them again... I guess they don’t let even family members visit huh?”

He shrugged a bit as she asked about his classes. “I dunno... it’s a lot harder than I thought it would be. But maybe you can help me with stuff? My biggest challenge right now is finding my way around the castle.”

Kerry sighed as he leaned back, looking her over. She was clearly looking at him funny, and he wasn’t sure he was ready for such things. Sure, he had had crushes as a kid, but he didn’t think someone would actually like him back. “What do you want to know about me? I mean... I’m pretty much an open book...” he said, looking around at the books that surrounded them.

He reached for one of the textbooks and opened it up, looking for something in it. The book was about muggle history and he wanted to find something in it to show Aureila. He flipped through the pages, trying to find something about Irish history that would either interest or impress her. “Let me see... what’s in here that I could tell you about my family history.... I’ve really been getting into genealogy and history lately.
