Peach saw Rhea stand up and walk towards the lake. This one started throwing pebbles, skipping them actually. She was skilled but Peach felt a little ball form in her stomach. It was probably seven to eight pm and she knew that the nocturn animals would come. She also knew that giant squids enjoyed peace and tranquillity rather than their waters troubled by pebbles. The young girl stood when Krez touched her shoulder. She saw the Blondie get on her feet an approaching the waters. Peach saw what intrigued her; something disturbed the lake's waters and it was too big to be any pebble. Peach grabbed her wand and walked slowly towards the dark waters, behind Krez. This one pulled Rhea a little closer to her and she also had her wand out.
"Krez...If it's the squid, it's not a good idea to throw spells at him. He'd get angrier and more dangerous. My mother used to look after one of those and she would sing it songs so it would calm down. I don't know if it would work but we could try...before using magic. " she said, softly. It could be something else than the squid though, like one of the mermaids who haunted these waters or other smaller creatures, which only made it scarier because no one could know.
Peach scruted the lake, her breath heavy. The moon was hidden by thick clouds and barely any of its rays succeeded to get through. The young girl murmured a Lumos and approached the water slowly. The waters were agitated and something was moving beneath it. The girl gave her friends a worried look.
" I know some calming spells, in case and some healing ones too. But that's as far as it goes for me. "

Rhea furrowed her eyebrows as Kres dragged her away from the water's edge. What was that? What creature was lurking beneath the lake's surface?
Kres kept dragging her away from the water, wand at the ready. Rhea was about to tell the blonde that casting spells at whatever it was wouldn't be a good idea, but Peach beat her to it.
"Krez...If it's the squid, it's not a good idea to throw spells at him," Peach said, and Rhea scrunched her nose. What squid? There was a squid in the lake? Peach continued talking, saying how they could sing a song to calm the creature down. Rhea rolled her eyes. Typical Hufflepuff, never wanting confrontation and always dimming a problem down before it started. But Rhea's blood was filled with adventure, and she craved to find out what sat beneath the lake's surface.
Peach said something about her knowing some spells to calm it down, but Rhea ignored her. She took her arm out of Kreszentia's grasp and ran back to the water. She took off her shoes and socks and rolled up her pants, along with her robes. The water was freezing as she waded into it, but Rhea paid it no mind.
"Come out, come out wherever you are squid," Rhea murmured, smirking. "I wanna see if you really exist."

One could actually see Krez's body visibly tense as she lost her grip on Rhea's sleeve. She took a single step towards her but stopped when Rhea actually waded into the water. There was no way she was going to join her in tempting fate like that, but she certainly seemed bothered about her just going at it alone. After a moment of just holding her hand out, still hoping she'd turn around and come back, Krez brought her hands back to her chest and scooted back inland a few feet.
She gave Peach a look of confusion and some distress, not sure how to proceed now that Rhea was getting deeper and deeper into potential trouble. She quickly went back to watching Rhea walk straight into the unknown, and soon put her hands down to her sides huffily, fists balled up tightly. Her wand was not put away at Peach's suggestion, as she hardly believed singing a song and maybe tickling a beast so formidable would do much good, but she said nothing about it so as not to put Peach's idea down completely.
"Vhat do ve do if it drags her under?" Kreszentia finally asked, looking to Peach again rather grimly. Although nothing had happened just yet, she already appeared to fear the worst for Rhea, despite not following her in to force her to come back.

Peach knew that Rhea wouldn't want to walk away from the situation, but concerning the giant squid, it would have been so much better to do so. But no, misses Gryffindor wanted to waddle into the water and put herself in danger. Peach took her robes off after looking at Kkrez who had asked her what to do if it pulled Rhea down. The dark haired girl didn't respond and she held her wand tight in her small fist, the spell Alarte Ascendare on the tongue. Her mother had insisted that Peach had to learn defensive spells in case any creatures would get violent and dangerous. She was wearing the schools skirt that she rolled up, as well as her sleeves and she walked towards the lake. She was right behind Rhea and she pulled this one towards her.
" Are you crazy? He could kill you and rip your insides! " she spoke quite loudly as waves were starting to form on the surface of the water. She held her wand out towards them. The girls didn't seem to agree with her idea of taking it slow and using calming spells so she would have to use something else.
She was walking slowly out of the water, pulling Rhea with her. She was nearly out of the waves when the water moved more. She could see dark shapes under the water and it made her uneasy. They were nearly out when a tentacle shooted right out of the water towards the sky to fall not far next to the girls.

Rhea turned back to look at her friends. They looked horrified at what she was doing but she, in turn, shrugged. "It can't be that bad," she said, before wading farther into the water. She didn't know exactly what she wanted to accomplish, but she didn't care all too much.
Krez walked back farther, not wanting to wade in her herself. Rhea motioned to Krez that it was safe enough, that there was nothing to worry about, but Krez didn't go in anyway. Rhea sighed and walked in farther, until the water reached the tip of her rolled up jeans. Rhea debated whether or not to go deeper, but ultimately decided that there was no harm. She walked in farther and a slimy thing swiped against her shin. She shrieked and pulled her leg out of the water, trying to calm herself down and eventually succeeded.
Rhea tried to walk in deeper but suddenly she was pulled out of the water. Peach had grabbed her and was pulling her away, yelling that she was crazy. Rhea let her pull her out of the water.
They thought they were safely away from the slimy creature when a tentacle leapt out of the water and landed next to the girls. Rhea screeched and jumped away from the creature. The tentacle wrapped around Rhea's wrist and pulled her forwards, back towards the water.
"Are you kidding me?!" Rhea tried to wriggle out of its disgusting grasp but she stayed wrapped. She huffed but knew that she couldn't get up. She tried to get her wand out of her robes but wasn't successful. And as she was a Bishop, she knew that she couldn't outright ask for help. So she simply settled for hitting the tentacle with her small fists as hard as she could.

The second the massive, slimy appendage suddenly burst forth from the unassuming lake, Krez heard herself involuntarily scream for a split second. She quickly popped her wand back up into her coat sleeve as she dashed back into the water, reaching out to pace a firm grip on Rhea's arm again. She tried to dig her heels into the dirt as she attempted to pull her back and out of the grip of the beast, to no real avail. She wasn't pulled off so easily, but she could feel her feet leaving deep trenches in the mud as the three were dragged steadily towards the deep. Their small bodies together didn't hold enough strength to even match up to something so gargantuan.
Kreszentia remembered they had spells, but she knew she wouldn't be able to get the spells she learned right in a situation like this. It was already too hard to think to communicate with either of the other two in the heat of the moment. Too many thoughts raced through her mind as well. Why was it trying to drag her under? She knew this would happen, why didn't she try to stop it sooner? Was it territorial? Did Rhea provoke it?? How were they going to explain a student death to the professors???
Krez was determined not to let this tentacled terror snatch her adventurous acquaintance away like this and as a desperate attempt to stop its progress she simply dug her heels deeper into the earth, catching a foot on some more solid ground underneath the muck and water. It wasn't guaranteed this would hinder the squid any, but she could hope.

Peach firstly felt anger invade her body. Hadn't she told them to be careful? To not go into the water? Secondly, it was fear. her body was shivering and she was frozen in place, her wand in her hand, observing the scene quietly. Rhea's wrist, pulled towards the water by the squid and Krez jumping to rescue her. The movements made splashes in the water and it's when she received freezing water in her face that she woke up. She held her wand high, targetting the tentacle, she yelled Alarte Ascendare. A red string of light shot out of her wand to hit the tentacle and propulse it in the air, making it lose it's catch on Rhea.
She ran to her friend and helped Rhea to bring her back to earth, knowing that the squid would be angrier and that he would come for them again. She looked at Rhea's wrist, a little red and asked her if she was okay, genuinely worried. Her body was still shivering with fear but she couldn't imagine how Rhea felt. This one must have thought she would have died and be ripped to shreds by the squid. Peach started feeling bad, as if all of this was her fault. They had all willingly come to her but she still felt responsible for their safety.

This was incredibly stupid. I'm so incredibly stupid, Rhea thought as she flailed around miserably in the squid's tentacles.
But then her lord and saviour Krez came and grabbed onto one arm. Rhea exclaimed thankfully, but the blonde wasn't strong enough to keep the squid from moving at all. She dug her heels into the sand, which stopped the squid from moving (for just a little while, everything was fine and Rhea seemed safe).
But no sooner had the tentacle stopped swinging about, it started flopping again. Rhea screeched and held onto the tentacle with one hand, hoping she wouldn't fall out, but with the other held onto Kres's hand, hoping that she would fall out onto the ground.
And this is how I die, Rhea though, pressing her lips together. A squid tentacle squashing me. What a nice way to go.
Rhea kept on hitting the tentacle with her free hand, but soon didn't have to. Peach yelled out some sort of spell that triggered the tentacle to unwrap from around her and Rhea fell to the ground. Immediately after, Rhea stood up and ran far away from the sand, standing back near the other tree. She shivered --both in coldness, and in shock-- but thanked her friends.
"Thank you, thank you so very much," she told each of them in turn. But as she thought about it, the funnier it seemed. A small, redheaded girl, bouncing around in a tentacle, hitting it with all her might while two others tried to get her out? A quite humorous situation. Rhea started to laugh and looked at the others. "If you think about it, it's kind of funny. Not that I'll ever do it again, but still."

Krez's efforts only did so much, and naturally, the squid overpowered her. She didn't know how much longer she would be able to hold on, but luckily Peach stepped in with her superior spellcasting and temporarily distracted the squid. Their only logical option left was to run from the water, which they thankfully did, before taking a short rest by the tree they had been by previously.
She was soaked, out of breath, and sore from suddenly having to burst into action against something she knew she couldn't fend off. Rhea's thanks weren't acknowledged entirely, but Krez definitely heard them. Not only did she hear that, but she heard Rhea's laughter too, which caught more of her attention.
Krez looked up at her, exasperated. What in the world was wrong with her? This??? Funny??? Had she hit her head somehow, being flicked about? Was she delirious from the adrenaline?? There was nothing funny about that situation to her. She could have drowned, they ALL could have been hurt. In fact, they all could have been EATEN had the squid been hungry enough. It was far more frightening than hilarious.
There was a lot she wanted to say to that, but not much she could articulate in the moment. Quite a few things she wanted to say could've been taken as mean or rude...
"You might have died." She stated, slowly so Rhea could understand how serious she was trying to sound. "Zhat. Is not. A joke."

She was out of breath, exhausted and panicked. They could have died, right there and then but the cause of all this trouble found it funny? Peach sighed. What. The. Hell. She looked over at Krez who apparently shared the same opinion as her. Rhea was laughing. Peach could not believe her eyes. The giant squid came to them because SHE decided to go adventure in the water and SHE initiated all of that but it was...funny?
" We could have died. We could have drowned and the squid could have had us for dinner. You could have ended up with an arm in less just because you thought it would be ' brave ' to go in the waters. And now, you think it's funny? Putting our lives at risk like that? Are you crazy? " The word ran out of her mouth as her eyes were shooting bullets at Rhea. She was angry and she had been terrified as she thought Rhea would die. She didn't understand how carefree that young girl was and they had been extremely lucky. Peach's spell would not have held back the squid if he had been hungry. He would have come back and feasted on their three little bodied.
