It was the day before Hogwarts' summer camp, this year known as Magic Without Borders, Fair and Farm Expo. This time it was being held at the London Quidditch Stadium. Tone had come a little early because it wasn't as if his parents wanted him around at the time. They hadn't even wanted him to come back home, so he'd stayed at Mahoutokoro until it was time to leave for summer camp. Tone had gone to Diagon Alley because a friend of his had needed his help in picking up an enchanted fish carrying case and some fish treats for him. Tone was meeting up with them at summer camp, so he wouldn't have to carry the items around with him for long. Upon reaching the Magical Menagerie, Tone entered and gave the sweet old couple who ran the place a bright and friendly smile on his face.

"Hello! I do hope you're having a great morning today!"

He called out to them. Meandering around the shop as he checked out all the animals inside, since Tone had always been curious and liked to be kept up to date on everything out there, the sound of rustling feathers, hisses, squeaks and meows could be heard everywhere. He took a brief look at all the toads, rats, lizards, spiders and snakes and then made his way over to another section. The bunnies were cute and he spent some time petting them. The pygmy puffs were absolutely adorable and squeaked when he touched and played with them. Ferrets were pretty cool too along with the owls. Owls were beneficial for a variety of reasons. They could carry packages and fly to deliver them to others. The newest addition to the shop were half-crups and they were cute. But dogs usually were.

However, the section that caught his eye the most was the one that housed the cats. Tone had always been a cat person and he loved them to death. It was a sad day when a cat didn't like him and he treated them much the same as humans. If they didn't like him, he would go above and beyond to convince them to change their minds! Yes, he'd had more success with humans versus cats so far but that didn't stop him from looking at the positive side of things. Tone lingered by the cat section, stretching his hand out to pet them. But eventually knew he couldn't spend more time there or he'd end up spending the money he'd been saving up on his own to purchase a new broom for himself before the summer games. So with a sad face he turned away from the cats and headed off for the fish.

What Tone didn't realize was that a certain lone feline had seen him before and had decided she wanted to go home with him. She'd been down on the ground so Tone hadn't seen her but it had been intentional. She was a very curious, intelligent and active cat and was stubborn about who she would go home with, which was why every time someone came to the cat section, she would jump out and hide herself. But the way Tone treated the animals and didn't try and do anything he thought they might not like and the aura she felt from him, this was the one for her! As he walked away from the cat section towards the fish section, she followed him, padding silently behind him, eyes locked on the one she'd decided would be her owner. There would be no one who was like him for her in the future.

It was only when he'd picked out the fish items and turned around that she planted herself in the middle of Tone's path and meowed at him. She turned her head from side to side trying to look cute and adorable. About to lift her paw into the air to do a cute wave at him, she blinked. Her paw was stuck to the floor for some reason! A mew of distress escaped her lips. Stupid gum! It was a white piece of sticky gum, probably from a student earlier on that morning. This was why the feline hated youngsters! They were all a disrespectful lot, throwing gum on the floor and not cleaning it up after themselves. She pouted a little and looked up at Tone with a cute adorable look in her eyes, trying to get him to help her out. She didn't want to lick the gum off and didn't even know if that would work....

Tone blinked upon coming face to face with a Bengal cat before him. She was sitting in the middle of the floor staring up at him. But OMG SHE WAS SO CUTE! He couldn't help the smile that spread across his face as the blond stared down at her. She was even acting adorable as if she wanted him to take her home but the cutest part was when she tried to lift her paw. It looked like it was stuck to the floor by something and the look in her eyes was so cute when she looked at him asking for his help to remove the stickiness. Tone knelt down before her and gently picked up her paw to see a sticky white gum attached to the bottom of it. For some reason, Tone couldn't help but think about mochi, the sticky rice cake that was popular amongst the Japanese and he chuckled as he removed all of the gum.

He cleaned her paw off until none of the gum remained and then reached out to pet the cat's head a little. "There you go. It's all clean now." Tone told her and a faint smile came to his lips again. "You know, if you belonged to me, I'd call you Mochi." He told the Bengal and the feline's eyes brightened as she looked up at him and meowed as if she liked the name. Rubbing up against his leg, she hopped onto Tone's thigh as he was still kneeling before her, and stretched herself upward to rub against his cheek, purring. "Oh you like it, do you?" Tone asked with an arched brow and reached out to pet her again. She was tempting him. It was around this time that the old woman happened to come over to him. She had been restocking the shelves nearby and happened to see him.

"Ahh, I see the stray has been warming up to you. She's a curious, energetic one. She always hides whenever someone comes to the cat section. I wonder if she does this on purpose so she'll never get bought by someone." She paused for a moment, letting her eyes flicker over Tone for a few seconds. "Tell you what, if you want her, I'll let you have her for just 3 galleons. We didn't purchase her in the first place and she just entered the shop one day and decided to stay. You seem like a nice kid and she seems to like you. If you don't purchase her, I don't know when she'll be able to get a home." The old woman told him. Tone's eyes widened at this. He looked back over at Mochi and Mochi looked back at him again.

With a sweet look in her eyes. Okay, that clinched it, Tone nodded. "Mmm. I'll take her and these too." He told the old woman, raising the two fish items up in his hand a little. Ah, right, Mochi needed some food and a bed but those were expensive and it wasn't as if he could just use his parents money because they didn't give him any. Luckily the school was nice enough to give their students a daily allowance. He calculated for a time and then nodded to himself. "Mochi, let's get you a bed and some food." He told her and headed back to the cat aisle with Mochi following along beside him. Picking up a pet bed and a can of cat food, he made his way to the counter. Once he'd paid for everything, a sigh escaped his lips. He'd spent more than he'd thought he would but it was all worth it.

Mochi was adorable.
