Never was a fan of GoGuardian or the chromebooks >c and the fact that they mandated google chrome (would not let anyone install edge or any other browsers. They locked all downloads to be password protected, and if you're under investigation for whatever reason, they shut off your access to google (search) and you have to access google classrooms via url. Everything else is restricted and is password protected unless unlocked by IT or by someone with the password, but given that they're not going to give the password away, IT will unlock it through their computers.

That's a personal gripe because I've had it happen to me several times. I remember getting them first in 2017, the chromebooks, we were able to do so many things. Then in 2018, they started cracking down, goguardian was used and all. In 2019-2020, so many sites were blocked. 2021-2022, I couldn't access any of my stuff for criminal justice because it was "inappropriate" (had to do with murder.. and research... plus everything on Gacy was blocked and I had to do a presentation on it). 2022-2023, more sites were locked. 2023 I graduated, but according to my brother, more sites were blocked, yahoo, outlook, mail platforms were blocked outside of gmail. You couldn't even switch accounts while logged in on the chromebook.

Same! I had a huge history project that I went to a state competition with, and whenever I was researching information, all the sites I needed were blocked and I had to do all my research at home on my home computer instead of getting it done at school which just added to my crazy workload last year!

Same! That’s terrible! Don’t get me wrong, I love my teachers but not the school district

I agree with this! There was one time last year that something happened with GoGuardian. One of the staff members at my school forced our IT guy to block Pinterest and a bunch of other sites because her daughter and only her daughter was looking at it in a bad way. It’s still frustrating because the entire school is punished for one person. This has also happened with pretty much any site not used for schoolwork which is frustrating too because I’m part of the group that gets homework done fast then I have nothing to do. H.io hasn’t been blocked yet, but for some reason whenever I was on my school’s WiFi last year, H.io wouldn’t even load.
