Town called malice
October 14th, 2019.
Interacting with @Gabriela MarquezThe Great Hall is extra alive and talkative that cold Monday night. All the house tables are equally talkative and energetic, as the students eat the various food made by the school-elves, laughing and gossiping about their days, filling the place with a warm and inclusive feel.
Unfortunately, such a calm and happy atmosphere isn’t for everyone, it seems, as those rumbles are beginning to irritate Roman Kingston who, after the worst day of his existence, is sitting at the Slytherin table with the utmost expression of death on his pale face, stabbing his vol-au-vent with less enthusiasm he normally would, being deeply in love with the dessert.
Even the great dinner wasn't enough to light up his mood. There’s no way he can be even slightly happy after such a terrible day, having had no sleep, losing a house point, bumping into some random girl, all that with that gloomy weather trying to get him sick. Roman couldn’t have asked for a worse day.
The boy raises his eyes to the loud laughter that comes from next to him, finding two boys stuff a bunch of food inside their mouths, laughing like disgusting animals, while pushing each other. Roman rolls his eyes at them, then disgust covers his once bored to death expression, once he sees drool coming out their mouths.
“Merlin, wot a bunch of idiots…” Roman mumbles to himself, unimpressed, but letting out a frustrated sigh, knowing well he’d have to deal with that sort of people. He eats a piece of the vol-au-vent, trying to ignore them, but one of the boys pushes the other way too hard, however, which causes him to fall over Roman.
The boy vol-au-vent hits in the face, missing the mouth, and he huffs, face growing a little red, now. Roman pushes him away harder than he intended, now furious as he tries to find a napkin to clean himself, “Oi, back off! Can't ya start actin’ like people, for Merlin's sake?”

Gabby's shoes hit the floor with a thud every time she stepped, her dark brown hair swinging wildly behind her back, and eyebrows creased furiously downwards.
It was easy to see that Gabby was, well, hopeless in most classes. In the words of most past teachers of hers, she lacked the attention span to stay focused for a long period of time, and could be distracted easily by the things around her, anything from a fly on the classroom window, or the sounds of people chatting loudly from outside the classroom. Plus, Gabby didn't exactly get along with teachers. She hated following rules, sometimes breaking them just for the sake of it, and didn't had a problem with speaking bad to the professors. So, in short, horrible in class.
Today was no excuse, and in Transfiguration class, easily one of Gabby's worst classes, the First Year had managed to break half a dozen glasses, insult the professor with five curses, and splinter a table in two. Storming out of the classroom in anger, Gabby now made her way to the Great Hall, where she hoped to find something to eat. There was nothing Gabby loved to do more than eat.
Entering the Great Hall and slipping into a seat, Gabby turned when she heard an angry voice beside her.
“Oi, back off! Can't ya start actin’ like people, for Merlin's sake?”
Looking back on the night, Gabby knew that the person could of had a perfectly good reason for yelling at those boys. In fact, they were being gross, shoving food into their mouths like that. But Gabby didn't think about that, with her temper already flared. In fact, she didn't think about anything. She just yelled.
"Hey, shut up, would you?" she said shouted angriley, a bit louder than she had meant to. "Some of us are trying to have a peaceful meal here, and you're not exactly helping."

[quote][quote]A girl's angry voice comes from next to him, stating that some people are trying to have a peaceful moment, to which Roman turns in her direction with a sneer ready to be used, ignoring both of the boys now complaining about him (who cares what those two losers have to say, anyway?), and his dirty face. He finds a short first-year, with dark brown hair and black eyes, that makes him raise an eyebrow, unimpressed, analyzing her.
“Oh, it will be peaceful once these two halfwits stop actin’ like complete animals,” He tells her and he means it, but there’s dripping venom coming from his words, while directs her the most annoying smile he can, not liking the way she yelled at him for trying being absolutely right. If anything, that girl should be yelling at the other two Slytherins. And if she really wanted a peaceful dinner, as she’d said, she could’ve easily ignored them, but no, right? Roman adds, fake kindness covering his words, “And maybe if ya shut yar big mouth, too, it’d be even more peaceful,”
The boy isn’t in the mood to be kind to anyone (when is he, actually?), especially after meeting that oddly sensitive Hufflepuff girl earlier. All he wanted now is to spread a bit of his usual negativity, make some hot-headed Slytherin mad, finish his dinner, then go to bed, in hopes of having a proper night of his sleep this time around.
Grabbing the first napkin he can find, Roman starts to clean his face, pretending to not want to exchange any more words to such an angry girl, hoping it will piss off her some more. He’s dealt with people such as herself before, and though he liked to annoy people that tried to pretend they weren’t annoyed by his presence, such as Noelle Carmona, from Ravenclaw, Roman had to admit that he could have his fair amount of fun with explosive people like that short Slytherin girl.
So, with that in mind, he adds, “Nobody likes an explosive brat, ya know,”

Gabby could feel her anger rising, like magma inside a volcano, ready to burst. She tried to control her temper at first, knowing very well that an argument could easily end in Gabby loosing points for the Slytherin house, and it wasn't easy making friends with Slytherins if you had just lost them a chance of winning the house cup.
To distract herself, Gabby tried to focus on her opponent. He was clearly of some Asian descent, with dark brown hair and black eyes. His skin looked pale, especially when placed next to his dark hair, and his face had a cold look about it, as if it were frozen. But the most annoying thing about the boy's appearance was his height. Taller than most First Years, he towered over Gabby's short figure like an elephant over a mouse. And the fact that Gabby's short height was a painful, touchy subject for her only made it worse. Why did he have to be so much taller than her? Her anger built up again, re-awoken.
"An explosive brat?"
Gabby stood up, so that her height wasn't as different to the boy's.
"You're calling me explosive? You can't even sit down at a table for five minutes without yelling at someone. That's just pathetic. Think you're better than everyone else? Think you're superior? Well you're wrong. I've said it once, and I'll say it again. Shuddup. Nobody," she continued, emphasizing every word. "Gives. A damn."
Standing taller than people she normally cowered below made Gabby feel powerful, and she liked the way she could shout at the boy, as if she were superior. And so she continued to rant.
"Bet you're from some sort of pureblood family, right?" she said, knowing full well he could be a muggleborn like herself, for all she knew. But she wanted to hurt him, and Gabby didn't care if she was telling the truth right now. "Think you're better than everyone else, yeah? Well, guess what?" Gabby insulted, her voice dripping with sarcasm, "you're not."

[quote][quote]Some students dart their eyes towards the scene, exchanging worried whispers as the girl stands taller than Roman, telling him, in such an angry voice that he finds funny, he’s not superior to her or anyone, which is hilarious. The boy's eyes are glued to her, face still if not for the small sneer, still very much unimpressed about her little rampage, because he’s heard worse.
Roman knows how to deal with insults, ones coming from his own parents' mouths, so it’s not a short and angry little first year that is going to make him feel bad about himself. No, thank you very much. He might as well give her a silver star that says 'you tried'. However, her words do manage to get him frustrated, with the way she accused him of starting that whole thing, completely ignoring those two idiots next to him.
“Were ya ‘ere five minutes ago?” Roman lets out before he can think of something meaner to tell her, putting the napkin down, a colder glimmer swimming across his dark orbs. He puts his hand over his chest and continues talking, “‘Cause I was mindin’ my own business until these two dunces started to play with their food, so–” He realizes he's letting her get to him, and so he stops and sucks in some air, before shrugging, “whatevah, I don’t need to explain myself to a sort like yarself,”
The girl continues talking, words and more words coming out of her mouth, trying to be mean to him. Those don't affect him in the slightest, he can only chuckle, shaking his head, wondering how the hell the two of them ended up in the same house. That's why I should be in Ravenclaw, the boy tells himself, I'm nothing like this pathetic brat.
Once she stops talking, Roman says, eyes running her up and down, while his voice’s chilling cold and unbothered, trying to get in her nerves, “It seems like ya give a damn, doesn't it?” The boy gets up, now standing so much taller than her. His smile grows bigger on his face. He runs his hand through his hair, tipping his neck, which gives him a more arrogant expression. “And answerin’ yar question, yah, I’m a pureblood. I can only assume ya’re a muggle-born, which explains the reason ya act like such a– what’s the word? Ah, yes, whiny little child.”

Hey, just warning you that I did swear a bit in this one, but it has all been blocked. If you don't want me to swear anymore, just tell me, and I'll stop straight away.
At first, Gabby was shocked. Her mind sort of froze for a second, taken back by the boy's reply. He actually was a pureblood. She hadn't meant that, hadn't expected it, and wasn't sure how to answer back. It was meant as an insult, but the boy seemed to like the fact he was a pureblood. He had stood up to once again tower above her, and ran a hand through his hair, making him seem colder, more haughty and aloof. Her eyebrows creased in confusion, and she took a step back, letting the boy intimidate her as she did so.
But then, as quickly as it had came, the shock disappeared, and she hastily took a step forward again, not wanting the boy to think he had won. She couldn't let him tease her muggle-ness while doing nothing about it.
"Excuse me?" Gabby exclaimed, putting as much spite and hatred in her words as she spoke. "Did you just say what I thought you said? You effing bastard. Who the fuck do you think you are? Can you shut that big-arse mouth of yours for one minute? Or is that too hard for you? Bloody elitist"
As she spoke, Gabby could see a Second Year, out of the corner of her eye, slowly edge away, a scared look on his face as he watched the two heated Slytherin's yell. For a second, she regretted the fact that she had cursed. Was that a step too far? Maybe she had crossed a line? It was hard to tell. Gabby was bad at that sort of thing, knowing when to stop, knowing when she had gone too far. Don't doubt yourself, Gabby urged herself. That's what he's trying to do. Get inside your head. Just ignore it.
"Well, eff you," she cursed, and spat a glob of saliva at his feet, well, as close as she dared to.

OOC: Cursing is fine by me! I was wondering when I could make him curse as well, haha.
[quote][quote]People across the table are starting the argument between the two of them, noticing how angry that short girl looked in comparison to him, that just stands there, that emotionless, normal look on his face. She goes on and on asking if he can shut up for a second, which makes him burst out a burst of weak laughter, shocked that she, the one that started all of this because she couldn’t simply mind her own business, is telling him that.
Then, she goes on to call him an elitist, to which Roman shakes his head, covering his mouth as he laughs out loud at her stupidity. When he’s about to tell her how stupid she is, that little brat tells him to fuck off and spits close to his shoes, which make him glue his eyes to her, frowning. “Look ‘ere, ya lil’ brat, how about ya sit yar ass down, so we can all enjoy our dinner in peace, eh?”
Roman runs his hands across his dark robes, letting her know that all her words meant nothing to him. He couldn’t care less about what a dumb and hot-headed brat had to say about him. Letting out an impatient sigh, he turns back to the table, giving the other Slytherins a cold glare, warning them not to talk about what is going on.
“I’m really not in the mood to argue with a dumb muggle-born that hasn’t learned some fuckin' manners, such as yarself.”

Brat?
Gabby opened her mouth in protest, ready to spit out some more insults. Her fear of taking it too far was clearly gone, washed away by feelings of insult and hurt by the boy. But, just as she was about to yell, the words and sentences already forming in her mind, she stopped. Remember, she thought furiously, he's just trying to get into your head.
Sure enough, as she looked around, the students closest to her and the boy were staring at her strangely, and that boy that had crept away? He wasn't the only one leaving. They edged away slowly, or walked quickly out of the room, eager to get away. But the thing was, they didn't look at the boy weirdly, it was only her who received their glares. She couldn't blame them. After all, it was Gabby who looked like some sort of feral animal. The other boy, well, he hadn't even raised his voice. His expression was cold, but calm, while Gabby's was heated and furious. She felt a mixture of guilt (for what she had caused the other students) and anger (at the boy) for this.
"Look," she said, calmly this time, her voice level and calm. "You're clearly an A-level prick, and I don't want to waste anymore time with you, yeah? You're clearly not worth it"
Gabby went to sit down, feeling extremely proud of herself as she did so. That was calm, right? But, as she sat on the wooden benches, she couldn't help turning back, and spitting one last insult at the boy, despite everything she had told herself.
"And I've got plenty of manners, by the way, you fucking sonovabitch"

[quote][quote]Her tone is clearly more controlled when the girl calls him a prick. She goes back to the Slytherin table, which makes him squints his eyes at her, curious at the sudden change from her temperamental behavior to this. It isn’t exactly calm, more like… Passive-aggressive, if anything. But to a girl that was yelling just a few seconds ago, it’s the closest to calm he’ll get, the boy supposes.
Roman, ignoring her next insult, (because, really, why would he care?) goes back to his place down at the table as well. It looks like the two idiots next to him have quiet down, as they’re now exchanging whispers and eating as normal people do. Roman doesn’t spare them a second glance, too busy analyzing that little brat next to him.
She’s a curious one, isn’t she? The question plays around his age and he wonders if he can get her to lose her patience again. Of course, I can, he concludes, smugly, as he hadn’t even tried earlier and now everyone on the snake table is giving her dirty and judgmental looks.
So, pretending to grab one of the pumpkin cakes close to her, Roman “innocently” bumps his arm against her own, in what is clearly meant to be a shove. The boy bites the smile that grows in his face, keeping his face serious and still, and sings, voice gentle, but fake, “Oh, I’m sorry~”

When Gabby sat down, she let herself relax, and piled an empty plate with food.It was roughly dinner time, and the food around her looked appetizing. She grabbed herself some slabs of meat, and covered a thick piece of bread with butter. Out of the corner of her eye she could see her new found enemy sit down as well, and while she was glad that the argument was over, she also felt a trace of boredom. She was just about to bite into a piece of delicious looking meat, when she heard a voice from the side of her.
"Oh, I'm sorry-"
Gabby turned around to find the boy from before, a smirk on his face as he knocked her arm. All thoughts of staying calm disappeared from her mind as her anger flared, once again.
"Sorry?" She asked, sure that the boy was lying. "And pigs fly, buddy. Sure you're sorry. Just can't enough, can you? I can't blame you. It must be in your blood, all of you are the same. Purebloods, I mean. Every single one of you."
Gabby then smiled, pleased with her insult, and turned back to her meat, relishing the taste of meat as she chewed.
