New books and New friends

It was my first time walking into the Hogwarts library, and it was amazing!
As soon as I walked in through the big oak doors, I was surrounded by towering shelves of books, almost touching the ceiling. There were books flying all over the room, out of the selves, and into people’s hands. There was over 100 times as many books as in my bedroom, and I had been known for owning hundreds of books.
I walked down to the end of the library, where there were armchairs, full of students of all ages sitting and reading their books. This was the place I was looking for to read my book.
I looked round, and saw that there was only one seat remaining, and there was a black-haired girl sitting on the chair facing it, reading a light-blue coloured book, which I noticed was one of my favourite books from back home. I walked over to the chair.
The girl had blue eyes, shiny earrings, and under her Hogwarts robe, she was wearing a t-shirt with the name of what seemed to be a football team - she was probably a muggle-born like me. I thought I recognised her, but I wasn’t sure.
“Hi.” I said quietly and nervously, almost squeaking, but not wanting to disturb her reading.

New books and New friends
I had been sitting reading my book in the library, when I heard a girl talking to me. I looked up, and saw a girl standing over me. It was her who had said hi. I smiled, and replied “Hi!”.
She was a first year like me, and she was also in Ravenclaw.
“Can I sit here?” she asked, gesturing to the chair next to me. “All of the other chairs are full.”
“Sure.” I said not wanting to be rude.
I watched her as she pulled a book out of her bag and started to read. She was wearing the normal uniform, but was wearing a light purple headband. She had brown hair and blue eyes, and I seemed to recognise her. Not wanting it to be awkward I tried to come up with a question to ask her. I tried to think if she was in any of my classes so if I asked her what her name is she wouldn't be offended that I didn't know. After a while of thinking about my classes I agreed with myself that she wasn't in any of my classes and I must have seen her in the corridor and at the sorting ceremony.
“What’s your name?” I asked, “I’m Gaia.”

New books and New friends
When the other girl said that I could sit down next to her, I sat down and pulled out my book – Hogwarts a History. I was trying to make sure that I knew everything possible about Hogwarts, so that I didn't get left behind in History of Magic, which would be extremely embarrassing.
I jumped slightly, then silently groaned at making a fool of myself when the girl asked my name, but I answered “I’m Mirada. Are you a first year?”
The girl – Gaia – said “Yeah. I’m in Ravenclaw, but all my family are non-magic.”
I replied, “So am I! I’m a muggle-born too. What are you reading?”
“It’s a murder mystery. I love the series so much!”
“Oh! I think I’ve also read the same series! I thought that they were really good, and I loved the detective!”
We quietly talked about books until the bell went for dinner, when we walked down to the great hall together, and I was proud that I'd finally made my first real friend at Hogwarts, who seemed to have exactly the same tastes as me. We chatted about our book tastes until we'd finished dinner, then walked up to the common room.
