It's Firecrackers! Not a Bomb! closed

Iliala was so excited. She'd spent weeks perfecting her firecrackers and now she was going to show them off for the whole world. She'd put up flyers and couldn't wait for people to start showing up to watch the show.

She'd spent the last 30 minutes hauling supplies down to the lake. In this last load she'd brought the actual firecrackers. Because of the volatility of potassium and the possible explosion on contact with water, she was very careful with it. For the actual display she had a full set up with sticks and triggers that allowed everyone to be at least 5 feet away at all times. She was quite proud of it.

The way the whole thing worked was by releasing singular drops of water into compartments of potassium when certain buttons were clicked. When the button was clicked it would push a lever upwards which would inject a droplet of water and push it away from the rest of the firecrackers at the same time. The way the buttons were pressed from a distance was by pushing certain sticks through tubes set up away from the firecrackers. By pushing other items they could eventually push the buttons and cause the explosion.

She thought it was genius. Sure, it was 10 times harder than any normal firecrackers but it also required real mathematics and science skills beyond just buying some firecrackers and setting them off.

She suddenly realized one of her sticks had a small crack. It wouldn't have bothered her except for the fact that it was connected to one of the larger containers of potassium and could cause a safety hazard if it fully broke. So, she made the smart decision to leave a quick note next to the firecrackers ("reactive to water. keep away from lake.") and search for a new stick. It wouldn't be as good as the original but she didn't want to postpone because of some mildly cracked materials and surely kids would be smart enough to leave the firecrackers alone.

And so, she left the highly explosive and reactive bomb disguised as firecrackers alone with a note describing exactly how someone could cause some chaos. Such an innocent, naive child.
