[font=times new roman]enoch james weiss was born on the 19th of january in a bustling new york city hospital, much to the chagrin of enoch's traditional paternal grandparents who preferred the boy be born at the family estate in sleepy hallow. enoch is the son of the famed magizoologist amir weiss, who hailed from sleepy hallow just as six generations did before him, and theodora weiss (née frostkeep), a london-born witch who worked as a ministry of magic official under the department of magical accidents and catastrophes. enoch spent the first eight years of his life in the weiss family estate, surrounded by other prominent magical families. during the summer, enoch would travel with his father abroad, accompanying him as amir studied the magical beasts from other lands. despite his initial interest in magical creatures, enoch has become enamored with the idea of studying forbidden charms like his maternal grandfather before him. theodora became unsettled by her son's fascination with forbidden, dark knowledge and tried to redirect his aspirations. unlike the weiss family who were famed scholars, the frostkeeps are a family shrouded in secrets and rumors that accused them of dabbling in the dark arts. theodora was the light within the darkness, a kind and loving witch who renounced her family's dark past to begin a future with her husband. enoch's mother had kept him hidden from her family for as long as she could. despite her efforts, amir's job brought the family to london shortly after enoch's eighth birthday. what was supposed to be a temporary placement became permanent when enoch's sister, elora, was born. far from their home back in new york, the little family was forced to accept valerian frostkeep's offer for them to stay within the frostkeep mansion. despite his maternal grandfather's influence, enoch's loving upbringing shielded him from the hatred spewed towards half-bloods and muggle-borns, much to the relief of his mother. after his grandfather's death, enoch's family remained at the mansion. the fear that was once present when the frostkeep name was spoken had started to dissipate. that is, until enoch discovered his grandfather's library. after accidentally dropping his grandfather's journal at diagon alley, their family secrets were exposed on the front page of The Prophet. after this incident, much of enoch's friends refused to associate with him and the poor boy spent most of his days alone. enoch, as well as his parents, were overjoyed when an owl brought an acceptance letter. it was escape from his mother's past that haunted him and an opportunity to mingle with other students who knew nothing of the frostkeeps.

enoch's first instance of magic occurred at eight years old, right after the family moved to london. while snooping around the frostkeep estate, he ventured into his father's study. the study's forbidden status didn't seem to faze enoch as the boy quietly opened the door and peered inside. akin to many studies, there was a desk with papers strewn about and worn books stacked up like towers. one thing stood out to enoch: a tiny fairy, barely reaching the height of his pinkie finger, content in an intricate cage. he had heard his father mention the creature before, emphasizing their vanity and beauty. determined to get a closer look, the boy snuck over to the desk. he shifted his elbow and clumsily knocked over the cage, allowing the fairy to escape through the broken latch. angered over the disruption, the fairy flittered around enoch, tugging his ears and yanking his hair. the boy swatted in an attempt to shoo away the creature, but the little fairy was too persistent. enoch tried to flee the study, but the door had become locked from the outside, trapping him in with the fairy that angrily buzzed after him. banging his fists against the oak door, the young wizard tried to attract the attention of anyone who might be passing through the halls. shutting his eyes tight, enoch gave one final push, landing with a thud beyond the door and into the hallway. disoriented, he was surprised to find that the door was still locked. eager to tell his parents about his first self-magical experience, there was hardly a moment wasted before the boy was running down the halls. of course when he told them, he conveniently left out the incriminating details about his escapade to the study.[/font]

ezra calev weiss ﹣ the patriarch of the family. grandfather to enoch and elora. affectionally known as 'sabba'. a gregarious and charming man, his parties at the weiss estate were known far and wide. a former dragonologist and author who traveled the world for his studies.
elora adela weiss ﹣daughter of amir and theodora weiss. younger sister of enoch. even at three years old, her personality is already blossoming. unlike enoch, she inherited her mother's shy disposition and an eye for perception.

valerian rowan frostkeep ﹣father to james and theodora as well as a grandfather to enoch and elora. an ambitious man with a lust for power, he followed in the steps of his dark ancestors and studied forbidden magic. enoch resembles his grandfather, but perhaps not to the same degree. died from natural causes in 2018.
vera hyacinth frostkeep (née silverpine) ﹣mother to james and theodora as well as a grandmother to enoch and elora. once a respected and honorable woman, she is now reduced to a husk of her former self that sits in st. mungo's, a tragedy that came from her husband's experimentation with dark magic. it is unknown why she married valerian, there are rumors that she fell under the imperio spell cast by her husband himself. theodora and the children visit vera from time to time. every once in awhile, she'll crack just the slightest of smiles.
