Interacting with @Clara Goldstone
For the first time ever, he’s dreading going to the next lesson. It’s been quite the rough day, though it had only just started. The boy had had a terrible night of sleep, rolling in bed, trying to find a good position to sleep, only to not be able to even close his eyes for a second, staring at the dark ceiling while his dormmates snored, many thoughts troubling his already confused enough head. Not only that, but he managed to mix the ingredients of the potions during the first period, which lead to it looking purplish and gross, instead of the soft grey tone it’s supposed to have.

Anyways, he’s having a bad day, isn’t that great? Coming out of the Charms classroom, Roman walks slowly, slouching, with a murderous look to his tired eyes. He’s thankfully protected from the chilly and possibly rainy day, wearing his dark robes and the Slytherin scarf around his neck. The last thing he wants is to get a cold, thank you very much.

Rolling his eyes, he sighs when he realizes he has a free period now and can use it to work a little harder on his homework. Though it’s good enough for an E or an A, the boy wants to make sure he gets perfect O’s in all of the subjects possible, even the extra ones. If he wanted a chance of finding a good job later in his life, Roman needed the most brilliant report card. (And he, maybe, wanted to impress his father).

Opening his black bag, Roman looks for his Herbology textbook. He finds in the middle of crushed parchment, which makes him sigh, brows furrowed. Now he had to rewrite his notes, not wanting them to be a mess. Quite the perfectionist, is he not? Well, paranoia makes it perfect, isn't that the saying? He continues walking, not looking where he’s going, trying to smooth out the papers, lips pressed in a thin, unpleasant, line, while his Herbology book is safe under his arm.

The boy doesn’t even notice someone coming in his direction, too busy mumbling to himself, complaining about literally everything he can think of, and only realizes it once he bumps into them, parchments and book falling to the floor as he takes a few steps back, huffing, incredibly more annoyed. Roman runs his now empty hands through his dark hair, giving the person a hard look, letting out, with a stronger accent, “Oi, how 'bout ya wotch where ya’re fuckin’ goin', uh?!”

Clara could not have been more bored. As much as she enjoyed roaming to-and-from the escape of her burrow, the Hufflepuff dormitories, her motivation died when she remembered her first period of the day being History of Magic. She groaned at the thought, dragging her feet through the corridors, forcing an uplifting smile from student to student as she made her way to class. Not the best morning to spend at Hogwarts, but hopefully she would get used to this. She couldn't wait for her Herbology class next period as she anticipated in her seat, quill in hand, noting everything her first class had to offer; as dreary as she felt, mind you. At least, Herbology would help her feel at home.

Sitting in her chair for what felt like hours, the bell could not be a more welcoming sound as it chimed for the end of class. Scrolling the parchment and neatly situating it back into her school bag, she was one of the first who made it to the door, before being reminded to collect today's homework. Sighing, she, like many of her bored classmates (some but rarely did students anticipate the subject in the start of the day), grabbed a parchment each of homework questions before making their way to freedom.

Herbology felt much easier to get through, providing a more calm and pleasant period for the day. Relaxing in her chair while observing her notes, she may as well be back in the Hufflepuff common room where plants shine their natural yet beautiful features. By the end of the lesson, Clara found herself asking the Professor further questions about the Devil's Snare and its incantation to counter such a dangerous plant (for learning purposes and curiosity of course), before realising she had to hurry for her Charms class the next period! Hufflepuffs were pairing with Ravenclaws today, and knowing all the Ravenclaws may as well turn up to class on time, she did not want to let the Hufflepuffs down. '5 points from Hufflepuff because Miss Goldstone was late,' she pictured, feeling queasy at the thought. With an apologetic wave, Clara stopped the Professor mid-sentence before scurrying off in a panic.

'No running through the corridors!' she reminded herself, the same voice spoken to those willing to break the most basic of school rules. Barely managing to weave through students, she broke into a short sprint upon reaching closer to the Charms classroom. In her state of panic, there was absolutely no hope to avoid a collision as another student, a boy who looks to be of her age, distracted by the fumbling in his black bag, bumped into her. Or rather, she bumped into him.

"Oh no..."

Crumpled parchments flew to the floor, along with a book he was once carrying under his arm. “Oi, how 'bout ya wotch where ya’re fuckin’ goin', uh?!” he approached with a strong accent as Clara slowly recovered from the shock, her hand pressed against her now painful head as if it'll provide a form of comfort. "Wh-what?" she stumbled as she found the boy's stuff all over the cold floor. Looking up at the pale faced boy (an intimidating one as of this moment), he wore a green-and-silver scarf with a snake emblem proudly shining on his dark robes. Forget Charms class; this boy is a Slytherin! "I-I'm so sorry!" she stammered as she kneeled down to the book that now lay closer to Clara, finally realising what the boy had said to her. Of course, what else could she expect from a Slytherin? How dare she act so clumsy. Picking up the book, only to briefly fumble and drop it again (eek!), she picked it up the second time with a firm grip. The textbook shone with the familiar words of Herbology. Oh dear, if someone messed up her favourite textbook... how could he not forgive her? Hoping the book stayed in good condition, she held the book out for him, not even daring to look at him as she felt the tears in her eyes wanting to flow. "N-no, not now," she told herself in her mind, knowing well how weak she presented herself to someone who could oh so easily bully her.

"H-here..." she spoke again, a little more faint this time, feeling reluctant to help him with the papers as she reminded herself the unkind words he forced upon her. Her first year at Hogwarts, and she felt like she already made an enemy! "Herbology is m-my favourite... I hope I didn't m-mess up anything of yours," she whimpered, wiping the book from debris with her other hand, trying to stay true to her positive nature as she choked out the words, hoping to clean the wound.

His book is handed back to him, while the person, a girl, he notices, stammers her apologies. Roman takes it back with an eye roll, kneeling down to collect his parchments and other belongings, now angrily shoving them inside his bag, though the anger isn’t quite as present as it was a second ago. I’ll take care of it later, he tells himself, knowing he has all the time in the world, for now, then, he’d have to go all the way to the Hogwarts grounds, just to have Herbology with Gryffindors inside one of the greenhouses.

Quite frankly, Herbology isn’t his favorite subject. Though he’s interested in learning the properties of the many magical plants, the incompetence of his many classmates made a clear distaste for the subject grow after each and every class. It’s mostly the lions’ fault, of course, even though Slytherins’ had their fair share of stupidity. The girl whimpers something, so weakly that he can’t even hear, which serves to quiet down the frustration inside his chest.

“Whatevah,” states the Slytherin, his voice more tired than anything, once he gets up. The black and yellow badger emblem is perfectly positioned on her dark robes, the boy notices. A Hufflepuff. Great. Then, his dark and bored eyes follow to her face, meeting teary blue eyes. Roman lets out, emotionless before he can think of anything else, “Oh, ya’re cryin’,”

The girl has short blonde hair ending at her chin, and due to his incredible height, she’s considerably shorter than him. Roman looks at her for a second longer than necessary, knowing he should go to the Slytherin common room to work on his homework for a few hours, frowning, then he hears what she says next, “I hope I didn't m-mess up anything of yours,”

“It’s not a problem,” The words come out, surprising himself. He’s not nice to people, especially to those who just ruined his parchments and notes, and bumped at him like that, but he doesn’t manage to say anything rude, mind has gone blank. Maybe his time with Clementine Hamilton had started to affect him and his horrible people skills. Roman breaks eye contact, busy with closing his bag, then shrugs, adding, “I apologize for yellin’ at ya,”

His voice comes out a bit muffled and it sounds sincere, which is both surprising and worrisome. The boy isn’t the type to apologize, it doesn’t matter the situation. Roman only does it if he absolutely has to, because he’s too proud to admit that he did something wrong. But, staring at her teary blue eyes, he could only go with the first thought that came to his mind.

Roman coughs at his hand and looks the other way, ready to leave.
