Blessed are the Forgetful
It was at the point that the potion was about to be finished. He turned to Ruthie as there were discussing life in the UK. He turned to her and nodded before he looked at the cauldron. "Yeah, it is totally different here than back home in Canada." He said. He as having a great conversation with Ruthie as the potion was almost done.
David was happy that the potion finished and turned out good. But he needed to figure out if the potion would work the way that they wanted it to be. He turned to Ruthie and smiled lightly. "You're very welcome Ruthie. I'm happy to help." He said. He nodded as there was one more thing that was needed before the potion was ready to go for testing.
There were footstep of someone coming into the room. He turned to see Shauna coming back from where she was going. He smiled lightly and turned to Ruthie and smiled lightly to her. David turned back to Shauna. "The potion is ready for testing and to try out." He said. He looked at the potion before looking at Ruthie. "The potion is looking good. It's just right. And it's the right color." He said as he was waiting and wondering who would end up having to try the potion out. Someone had to drink the potion to see if it works.

Shauna found that her memories where already slowly starting to fuzz; she was having a hard time recalling immediate events therefore the current conversation was a bit confusing to her. Now thanks to the year of accidentally poisoning herself her body has built up a resistance to poisons; however this is something that she has yet to discover about herself. Currently she can almost see the fuzz or fog forming around certain memories right now those would be the most current ones meaning today but even as that was happening her subconscious was keeping her in the know.
Even though Shauna's mind was currently fuzzy she'd have to be blind not to see that Ruthie and David were good friends or at least that's the sighting she seen. So when David asked about someone trying it Shauna was quick to volunteer; not to mention she had totally forgotten all about already trying it but that's beside the point. "I'll try it; I mean may as well be me so if something goes wrong then the creator isn't out a friend." She glanced at Ruthie with a soft smile "You have to be a blind person not to see you get along with David better and that's fine; who knows maybe if I loose my memory I'll come back with a better personality." She was trying for a joke but it ended up being more of a jab....not that she knew this of course.

"Excellent," she said as he confirmed the potion looked right. Ruthie's smile from when David acknowledged he was happy to help turned sour when he suggested someone should try it out. This was a forgetfulness potion for Merlin's sake! Drinking it was dangerous. Going off his confirmation, it seems all right, which was better than whatever disastrous effects a screwed up one would have. And she was glad that she got it right; that had, in fact, been the entire point of coming down here. She was on the point of pride, when she heard Shauna come in and outright offer to try it out. "No, you really don't have to do that--" Ruthie tried to interupt, but Shauna kept going, insinuating she was not a friend if she screwed this up.
Blinking, she was surprised. She thought she had shown Shauna--and David for that matter--kindness in letting them help, even if they were just acquaintances. But as Shauna continued her little tirade, Ruthie felt herself physically step away from the window. "David's just been helping while you were out of the room--" she tried again to interject, but Shauna just kept going like a Seeker fearlessly chasing after an evasive snitch. It was that final quip about returning with a better personality that finally broke the camel's back. "Anything would be better than this sniping," she said firmly as she walked over to the cauldron and poured the contents of the phial inside. She was about to start to clean up and put the glasses and ingredients away, either alone or with help. She didn't particularly care to invite help after Shauna's words. Carefully, she reached down to extinguish the flame under the cauldron, fully focused on making sure she didn't burn herself after all this, rather than anything above her eyeline.

Shauna stood there totally dumbstruck by the way Ruthie seemed to snip at her...wait did this girl seriously just accuse her of being snippy? Oh no she didn't...she walked over to Ruthie making sure so they were eye level "I have no idea what you are talking about; I wasn't being snippy or at least I wasn't meaning too. If I was in fact sounding snippy..." she took a soft breathe rubbing her temples slightly
"All I was saying is that you and David seem to be much closer even if you two are not friends exactly but at very least you two get along easier. I am the first to admit that I am not the easiest person to get along with which is why I volunteered so readily to try the potion that way if something does go wrong you are not out someone you like. However we can only hope that nothing does in fact go wrong but on the other hand if it does I trust that you will know what to do."
She flashed Ruthie a soft smile "But of course I will leave this totally up to you." she stood back up to grab her book bag making sure everything was inside it as she had left it behind or at least she thought she did.

David was listening to the conversation between Shauna and Ruthie. He thought that someone had to try out the potion to see if the potion ended up working. He didn't want to test the potion himself because it would not end well for him. He looked up to notice that Shauna was the one that was drinking the potion. He was thinking about what would happen to her when the effects of the potion would kick in. This would be the problem that would worry him for the time being.
"Are you sure about this Shauna?" He asked. He didn't want the potion to have a negative effect on Shauna. David then turned to Ruthie. "Someone has to test out the potion. To see if the potion would end up working. We don't even know if the potion would work. We don't even know if the potion would have the proper effect on the person that drinks the potion. Someone needs to test it out and see if the potion would work properly." He explained to Ruthie about the potion.
David was in over his head maybe? That was the question that he was thinking about. It was at the point that he was not sure what to make of this entire situation.
