Quidditch Gryffindor vs. Slytherin - Spring 2025

Percival held his breath slightly as he watched the bludger he had hit sail closer and closer to his target. Only to miss by a few inches. Percival let out an exasperated sigh as he watched it sail disappointedly away from his target. Eyes narrowing he gripped onto his broom a bit tighter as he thought on what to do.

1. In the role of Beater, if you hit an opponent with a bludger the bludger will then ricochet off that user and target a second opponent of choice (must be declared, if not declared the target will be random and can be an ally but not yourself).

2. In the role of Beater, if an ALLY dodges a bludger during the round, there is a 20% chance that you catch that bludger with your bat and you send it at a RANDOM enemy target.

3. In the role of Beater, if you critically hit with a bludger, instead of doing double-damage you do 2.5x damage. If you critically fail with your bludger attempt to hit, rather than having your bludger randomly target another user (including yourself or an ally) the bludger cannot target you on a critical fail (but it can still target your allies). On a re-target, there is a random roll for target and then a fresh accuracy roll.

I would have shrugged off the penalty lap had I actually done the deed to be guilty about. But what in the bonkers?! Who is out there judging these things in the first place?! Let me at least blatch and then penalize me for Merlin's sake! With the huge score gap up the board, only a freaking golden miracle can save us, and yet it can't be relied upon entirely. I am way to pissed right now to think anything.

Well, I guess I will cool off my hot head in this lap. I think I will resort to prayer, cuz at this point I don't know what else can save this match.

Oliver no doubt scared off one of the Gryffindor players when they tried to knock there seeker off his broom. Of course it had to be him and his intimidation, and the seeker's fault for being unaware. Oliver didn't really know his name, but he needed to watch better. As again, someone was going after him, Oliver flew over, intention on scaring the cheater off. But instead he was thrown off his broom, and falling, down, down... "Omph!" The sound escaped him as he was caught. How humiliating. He would have rather fell. Bright Shaw, was down. No one caught him. So perhaps being caught wasn't a bad thing.

Well, Slytherin were taking the piss. They weren't even trying to go for the win, just racking up points so they could sit pretty at the top of the ladder when all was said and done. They were pretty much guaranteed to end the season undefeated, but the snakes had decided to twist the knife. And there was nothing Nicholas could do about it, not from where he was locked on the bench. So he watched, feeling utterly impotent, and utterly angry.

Avery grabbed a snack. She knew there was a possibility that she could go out and play her heart out at anytime, so why not give herself an edge with an energy boost? As Avery ate her snack, she watched the chaos unravel. This game was not going well for her team. So many of them had fallen, and the odds weren't in their favor. And she could do nothing to help.

Or so she thought. Avery watched in complete shock as the Seeker of her team, Aodhan, fell out of the sky as the Slytherins attacked him. She was frozen on the spot in shock. She nearly didn't stand up and head towards the pitch. At the last moment she shook herself and stood. Grabbing her broom and taking to the sky. Ready to show her team what she was made up and hopefully help them get closer to victory. Even though the odds weren't even close to in their favor.

Aamon was performing Merlin’s most underappreciated miracle from the sidelines: the sacred art of bench-warming.

As a second-string beater for Slytherin’s Quidditch team, Aamon was technically on the team, just not on the broom. Not yet in any case. The pre-teen cheered. He fetched pumpkin juice. He solemnly offered snacks to his teammates, boosting morale and keeping them nourished. He kept the bench perfectly warm and slightly sweat-dampened, just in case one of the starters took a bludger to the spleen.

And oh, the chaos was glorious. That was probably why his family loved the sport so much, the games were a literal blood-bath, which filled him with a sense of fear and adrenaline. But his confidence was rising because Gryffindor was falling apart. Literally.

The players from the house of the lion were tumbling from the sky like cursed meteors, brooms spinning, limbs flailing. Aamon squinted at the scene. Was that the captain or just someone shaped like their captain? Same number of limbs he reasoned. They all sort of looked the same from this vantage point. Pitch-side his pale bum! The benches were at least eye-level with the action.

Either way, the young Slytherin was there for it. Wrapped in a Slytherin scarf too long for fashion, his mismatched eyes gleaming, and his heart pounding with equal parts pride, adrenaline, and sheer morbid awe. His time would come.

Preferably after all the bones stopped breaking.

Dan was ecstatic. They had so many points! And Gryffindor didn't have squat!
This just proved it; Slytherin truly was the pinnacle of Quidditch at Hogwarts. Goal after goal after goal. He was proud of his Chasers. He truly felt like this team would be in good hands after he left.

But enough about those thoughts. Time enough for that later. Right now, there was a game to win, and a Cup to claim.
He signaled to his team the play. Time to bring this one home.

Note: The new target still gets their normal dodge attempt. This is not considered to be an auto-dodge, in fact this roll is done before any accuracy rolls are done.

In the role of Seeker when you have found the snitch, if someone attempts to use Alley Oop to help you find the snitch, you will not have disadvantage. However, with this broom you do not gain the +1 chance to grab the snitch for rounds that the Alley Oop is used. To clarify, each round someone attempts to grab a snitch they get a +1 to the attempt and this stacks. There is no bonus (or stack from this round's attempt to grab) to grabbing the snitch.

In the role of Seeker, when using the search action if you critically fail on your search you get a re-roll in an attempt to find the snitch. In an attempt to grab the snitch, if you critically fail on your attempt to grab the snitch you get to re-roll your attempt to grab the snitch.

Mellani had decided to be on the watch, since she didn't want another Slytherin falling off their broom. She watched as Remedy scored 50 points for Slytherin, then suddenly, one of her teammates, a first year beater if she wasn't wrong was plummeting to the ground.

Mellani swooped in to save him. "You alright?"

As things were looking bad for her team, with Slythering scoring unmercifully and so many of her peers falling from their brooms, Meyra got into motion, deciding to do something she was not very kin of, but it she had to do what she had to do.

After a blunger nearly hit her, granting the Slytherin Beater (@Percival Rainwood) a murderous glare, Meyra flew directly towards their seeker. If they were scoring so much, maybe taking their seeker to the ground would grant her team more time.

But to her surprise, Oliver put himself in the way and she ended up bleaching him instead. The only unfortune in this all was that Mellani saved him, Meyra would have not been particularly unhappy if Oliver had met the ground, after their first and only encounter at the courtyard...

Lottie felt the energy of an impending win bubble up inside her. Prior to Hogwarts, her knowledge of Quidditch had been limited almost entirely to her brother's past experience, but getting to be a part of it in real time was twice as exciting as his dull, analytical stories. And the ever-present promise of success only fueled her newfound competitive spirit.

Though her desire to be on the pitch was slowly growing, she was still content to continue cheering on the sidelines.
