Between the nabbing socks or chewing of shoes, Beatrice had had enough! She'd grown up on a farm, had dogs before, been around animal all of her life. But Felix. He was a whole other breed. Maybe it was the crup blood in him or maybe it was the terrier. Beatrice wasn't sure, but by Merlin she was stressed. She'd done all of her homework, and had nothing else to do except hear Felix chewing on yet another shoe. She could only do oh so many repario's before her mind gave way.

Sighing, she looked out the window. Clouds were gathering in the sky, but it seemed any bad weather that might have come Hogwarts way wasn't to be. The clouds were still a bouncy, white colour. Bea decided that would be enough. She grabbed Felix's lead, the jungle of the clip making the animal instantly perk his ears and tail wag like an exuberant child about to get candy. Bea smiled. As much as her young pup was still growing and learning, she did love him. Clipping his leash on, they headed out of her dorm and down into the outdoors.

Outside seemed to fair the pair much better. Beatrice had taken to training Felix to be on lead when she had bought him. Her Ma had said that a dog that couldn't walk on a lead, couldn't walk at all. And Bea supposed she was right in a way. She needed Felix to be well behaved so she could take him to different places, Hogwarts included. She could just imagine her Head of House now, kicking her out for any amount of Felix's insurrections. Her dorm mates had proven to be very patient. Kathleen, a mousy girl in second year, had even offered to look after Felix when Bea was busy. Beatrice's heart had grown even more fond of the girls then. She watched Felix sniffing and snorting at all the smells of the Castle, still musing her way across the courtyard. Her goal was to get to the grounds so she could let him off for a little run. But, OH WAS THAT A SQUIRREL? The leash snapped and Beatrice's heart sank like a lead balloon let adrift as she watched her small and feisty dog run off into the distance.

Walking a cat was a perfectly normal activity, wasn't it? Well, to put it fairly, a majority of the walks Sage spent with her beloved cat, Casey, were spent with the cat in her arms rather than him walking. The silly cat always seemed to manage getting off his feet with a simple meow and the widening of his amber eyes. But he always seemed to love the fresh air, especially with the warming airs of June.

Despite the clouds gathering above, Sage snuggled Casey in her arms to guide him outside for a quick walk. He made some odd chirping noise, adjusting himself. "Silly cat," muttered the Hufflepuff. "You're a cat, not a bird. What's with the chirping?"

The pair continued outside, Sage whispering to her feline with the usual affirmations of "you're such a good cat" and "you're the sweetest". Reaching the courtyard on their way off to the grounds for a loop around the Great Lake, Sage's eyesight darted up from her cat to a girl and a crup nearby. The dog the older girl walked, energetic being an understatement, appeared to be running off after the leash broke.

In a moment of apparent chivalry, Sage made an effort to attempt and grab the crup before he could get himself lost. "Whoa!" Miraculously, she managed to catch her hand on the dog to guide it back to the older girl.

"Is this your crup? He seems... energetic!"

It was only a moment before Beatrice's legs started running in the direction of the mangy dog. He wasn't really mangy, but at that precise moment there was no other way to describe him. He was an absolute terror, inside and outside of the castle! Beatrice despaired, her Nan's ghostly voice following her around in disapproval of owning such a disobedient animal.

It was her lucky day, she rejoiced. Luck was on her side as she watched Felix dash towards another girl, maybe a year or two younger. It probably had something to do with the cat near her. Felix wasn't spiteful or aggressive towards other animals, perhaps a bark towards a bird or two, but he'd grown up at the start of his live near other domestic animals, including her sister's cat. At least, Beatrice affirmed, she wouldn't have to worry about Felix hurting the other pet.

Rushing up to the other girl, she grabbed Felix's collar and looped the now broken lead through the handle to create a slip lead. She then deposited the loop around Felix's neck, pulling it firm to make sure he couldn't escape anymore. A little breathless from all of the excitement, she smiled warmly at the other girl. "Yes, this rascal is my dog. Thank you so much for catching him! I don't know what I would have done if he'd escaped further down the grounds." She could see it now. Having to run into the Forbidden Forest to get her silly pet.

Remembering herself, Bea stuck out her hand for the other girl to shake. "I'm Beatrice. And this here," she gestured towards her dog, "is Felix, my half-crup puppy. It's very nice to meet you."

Sage studied the little trouble maker she’d caught. How much havoc had he wrecked on his poor owner? Casey, however, didn’t seem as fond of the dog as Sage was. Giving a disappointed meow at the scent of the dog, Sage adjusted him to manage both pets. "Shh, shh," she soothed her cat before turning to the dog again. "You’re very fast, little guy."

Now facing the older girl, the dog’s owner, she handed over the sprinter. She used her now free hand to stroke Casey’s ears. "Of course! If there’s such a thing as dog track, you should totally sign him up! He’d win all the medals!" she joked. "Er, sorry, do wizards have track? Or is that more of a muggle thing?"

Sage accepted the girl’s handshake, offering a polite smile. "Nice to meet you too, Beatrice. I’m Sage, this is my cat Casey! Does Felix do that a lot? I mean, running all about?"

She laughed, slightly awkwardly. She hoped she wasn’t making this awkward for Beatrice, making this more than the simple exchange of handing over the leash. Figuring she would at least check that Beatrice didn’t have somewhere pressing to be, she asked, "Sorry, do you have somewhere important to be? I don’t want to take up all your time!"
