Interacting with @Thora Larkston || Mentions @River Dewlight and @Aurelia Notrésvace

Bridget had just finished a quick breakfast when the house-elf delivered the crisp white envelope. Now, hours later with the sun steadily sinking behind the horizon, she was on the Quidditch Pitch, wearing a hoodie and leggings and gripping the shaft of her Shooting Star. Her thick brown hair was tied back in a braid and her wand was tucked in the homemade holster secured at her hip. If one were to ask her why she had joined the club, who's name she wasn't all too fond of (seriously, if anyone outside of the club referred to her as a "swagger" she would hex them), her answer would be, quite simply, that it looked like a good opportunity to practice. She wanted to be good at dueling, proficient at casting spells, and the best way to do that would be to actually cast spells in a competitive environment.

She didn't know the club's founder, Aurelia, other than seeing the third year in passing. The older girl was already up in the air when she arrived at the Quidditch Pitch, observing the students on the ground below her rather creepily. She seemed all too interested in closely surveying the members. Brushing the thought aside for now, but on her guard as this girl probably could not be trusted (at least until she had proof otherwise), Bridget decided to more or less follow suit and take note of who she would be up against. The majority of the group was her age, although there were a few third years she'd have to keep an eye out for. One of the older students, Quinn Healy, a tall boy with red hair, had been knocked off his broom in the first round of the Hufflepuff vs. Slytherin Quidditch Match, something that was partially her fault, so hopefully she wouldn't have to be the one to knock him out this time as she felt quite bad about it. There were a few first years too, who she certainly wouldn't dismiss as unthreatening but were at an experience disadvantage all the same. She gave a quick wave to Thora, who she wouldn't target unless it was 100% unavoidable, and a nod to the redhead she was talking to before turning back towards the club's founder in her descent to the ground.

The small girl listened carefully as Aurelia explained the rules. It was certainly a good thing they were limited to wand attacks as she wasn't very strong, despite being a beater, but why no Lumos? She could understand the exclusion of Incendio and Diffindo for very obvious reasons, especially considering the dangerous fact that there was no Professor nearby if things went wrong, but what was problematic about a bit of light, especially as darkness was coming on fast. Bridget didn't have time to speculate for long though as the older girl continued her briefing. Her stomach turned and nerves settled in as she tightened her grip on her broom. This looked quite dangerous, and while she was competitive and not afraid of a bit of injury with Hogwarts' Hospital Wing, this still was stressful. But this would be just like her duel--she just had to fake confidence until she got into a rhythm. Taking a deep breath and hardening her expression, Bridget readied herself. She wasn't positive about what was about to go down but she did know one thing--she would not back down.

While she was waiting for Jorah with Ruthie she honestly couldn't help wondering if she'd made a mistake signing up for a club like this. Sure she was doing well by way of spells but when it comes to the broom aspect of it; this is where she was having her dilemma....according to everything from her Flying lessons she can fly but the pit of her stomach says other wise. However she knew that she needed to get over this fear some day; just as she was thinking this while herself and Ruthie was both waiting...honestly she thought Jorah was up in his room until he tore through the common room from the portal. He gave a hurried explanation then took off; it wasn't long before they were all walking down to the pitch together.

Soon enough they made it to the pitch as Ruthie was the only one of the trio with her own broom herself and Jorah both had to suffice for a school broom. Honestly for Shauna that was just fine but she could see that Jorah would much rather have his own broom as she chose a broom then quickly and relatively silently ran through her Flying lesson by way of inspecting the broom then commending it 'UP'. She wanted to be sure that she remembered to give brooms that exchanged so many hands the proper respect it deserved to chose its next rider. Once she was ready she stood among the group directly in between Ruthie and Jorah waiting to hear what was going on.

Oh how exciting things had been for Quinn. Despite most recently getting knocked out in the first few seconds of his houses debut Quidditch match. Quinn was still so happy because in the end they won! So color him even more surprised once he got out of the hospital that there was this S.W.A.G club that started up. He was never really good at magic but hey he practiced like all heck to get good at it. So he signed up anyway for it. Not long after that's when he got the letter right as he was finishing up his duties from the tiny tiny house elf.
Thank you for signing up for the Spells, Wands and Games club. You have been accepted! The first game will be held today in the quidditch training pitch later at dusk. Bring your personal broom if you have one.
Regards, A
.
He grinned and got his things ready grabbing his very large baby, the Bluebottle. Being as big as he was he was comfortably able to carry it with one hand. Even though the broom was a broom meant to seat a family it suited him quite well and even fit like a glove. When the allotted time came, was when Quinn finally rode onto the training pitch in his precious broom. With confidence and pride he flew up along side the rest and intently listened to what was said. The Half-Giant was easily the largest person on that field and hopefully wouldn't come off as two intimidating as his sharp eyes scanned the field.

MODERATION
One by one, players took to the skies and hovered below her. Aurelia had read through the applications before the game. She didn’t really know anyone on the team, perhaps it would have been better if she got everyone to introduce themselves first. But it was too late for pleasantries now and she could only guess which name on the application belonged to.

Some of the students had brooms on their own while most didn’t. She also noticed that most of the members were from the quidditch teams. They would have a small advantage in the game today with their experience. But this game of Shuntbumps hadn’t much similarities to a game of quidditch except the fact that players were mounted on broom.

Aurelia pointed her cherry wood wand to the sky, waving her wand, she shouted “Verdimillious!” And bright green sparks few from the tip of her wand before bursting in the sky like fireworks. It was the cue to get them started. Now all she needed to do was watch as all hell broke loose. Although hoped that no one would get to severely hurt, judging by how viscousness of the game was to be played, injuries were inevitable.

When everyone had greeted one another, they had finally gotten the signal to mount up their brooms. Erik didn't wait for the others as he wasn't familiar with anyone of them, so he pushed himself off the ground and hovered a bit away from where he thought the rest of the group would be mostly present. It seemed two other Slytherins had joined the club as well. However, he didn't know them even though they were second years as well. He had seen them in the common room and during classes, but never had the opportunity to talk to them. So, he merely shrugged it off as he analysed all of the other players. It seemed he had a mixture of almost all of the houses and the players were from all different years.

It was time to get tactical. Who would cause the most trouble to him? Without a shadow of a doubt his fellow second years. They consisted out of the bulk of the group. Maybe they would prove a worthy challenge to him. When he looked at the other second years in search of his target. After a while, his eye fell on a boy with glasses and dark hair. He remembered, from the classes, the boy to be a Hufflepuff. Erik decided that this unsuspecting boy would have the honor to be his target. Let's see if you are a worthy opponent.

So, with that he drew his blackthorn wood and pointed at the boy whilst exclaiming: Expelliarmus!

Shuntbumps was a new concept to her, but she didn't particularly like it at first. She was more of a team sport oriented person. That's what was so great about Quidditch--she loved working with her team. This would be a different phenomenia all together. Still, a game was a game and she would try her best. She did take comfort in seeing several familiar faces on the pitch, especially those from the Quidditch team. It wasn't really surprising that they should turn up. Having a flair for games was pretty much a requirement.

As she took to the air, she scanned the pitch the same way she would at the start of a match before the quaffle erupted into the air. But instead of a quaffle, SWAG Club founder Aurelia shot up red sparks into the air from her wand. They were the bright signal that this match would begin. And with that, Ruthie swerved to the side, keen to stake out a defensive position more to the side of the pitch. Outside of the team, there were people she didn't recognize so it was a fair bet they were older and therefore dangerous. Still, she had to make a move. Drawing her wand, she locked eyes on the first girl she spotted and didn't immediately recognize as a member of the house Quidditch team. "Verdimillious!" she shouted while keeping a firm grip on her wand. It was only after the spell had already fired that she realized this was the girl who'd helped her at the ball. Whoops.

River gave polite smiles to the others that arrived, before she mounted her broom swiftly, and waited for the signal. It did not take long before the sky was suddenly filled with sparks of green, and Aurelia had giver her signal for the game to finally begin. This was absolutely a new phenomenon to the ravenclaw, and she was quite excited to try it out. Her mind flew back to the first time she ever flew a broom, and she remembered the horror of that day. She had been terrified to get up into the air, and the fear did not pass easily as she flew about. Now, she loved flying, and she had even signed up for joining in a club where her chances were very high of falling off the scrappy school broom.
She was focused, and she was prepared too. Her target was quickly and randomly decided from as soon as the signal showed, and the spell had been decided hours ahead. And it seemed the opportunity was here, and she raised her wand steadily, and pointed it straight at her first target of the game, but she didn't aim for the person, but rather their broom. She said the incantation, "Spongify" and began thinking of her next moves as she held tightly on to her broom.

Shauna had no idea what sort of game this was but everyone else seemed to know so she simply followed suit when everyone mounted their brooms. However as the game got started since this was her first time on a broom in a while she stayed low to fly in small circles however she found riding a broom was like riding a bike in the muggle world...you just never forget. This knowledge made her smile as she rode the broom to the heights of the other players; now she didn't know what she was doing she backed her broom over into a shaded area of the pitch to watch the game.

While she watched; she seen the red sparks come from the founder of the club then all out chaos break loose. Everyone seemed to scatter; with everyone mounted on their brooms spells were being cast from all directions being aimed at various people. It didn't take her long to figure out how this game worked....no teams just every man (woman) for themselves. She watched as Ruthie made herself a huge target by way of casting the first spell; green sparks really....honestly that might do no more than distract or temporarily blind the target....said target Thora Larkston. It only took her a second to know what she wanted to do; yes she knows the are not any teams in this game but there is nothing saying she can't target the same person someone else has targeted. She put her hair up in a bun; she always carried hair ties with her in case her hair got in the way...gripped her broom "I need you to be fast." she said as she leaned on the broom which gave the broom speed and she hoped made her a more difficult target practically laying on her broom. Only when she needed she pulled up on her broom bringing it to a stop with her wand gripped in her hand; she sat right in front of Thora Larkston spoke her chosen incantation with the proper enunciation and wand movement "Mucus ad Nauseam" (MYOO-kus ahd NAW-zee-um); Wand Movement

Thora hurriedly mounted her broom and shot up into the air. So, Quidditch training had helped for something. Even if she didn't get to play an actual game, at least her flying practice would pay off, as was evidenced by her smooth flight through the air. A cry of the Green Sparks Charm alerted Thora to a threat just off to her left, a blonde girl named Ruthie. Great.

The Ravenclaw was aiming her wand towards the older girl. Why was she aiming for Thora, of all people? Thora wasn't exactly a threat--Ruthie might not know it, but she was probably one of the weakest and most incapable players, not considering the fact she was stuck on a school broom. Also, Thora and Ruthie had worked together at the Masquerade Ball when her friend, Dymphna, was hurt. So why Thora had become the shooting target was a complete unknown.

Clutching her aspen wand tightly in her right hand and broom handle in the other, Thora leaned to the left, swerving and plummeting just a little. "Flipendo!" Thora moved her wand in a swirly V shape in Ruthie's general direction. Thora wasn't the type who thirsted for revenge, but she would make sure Ruthie got what she asked for.

With the burst of green sparks from Aurelia's wand, the game had begun. Bridget shot up into the air alongside the other members, getting a good kickoff from the firm ground. Once in the air, she leaned a bit to the right, maneuvering her Shooting Star in a loop around the Pitch. This way, she could get an idea of who all she was up against and what her opponents seemed to be doing.

Most of the people had already cast their spells at seemingly random targets--although a few members appeared to size their competition up before casting, a few of the flying students shot something at the first person they set eyes on. In the fray was her friend Thora, with what looked like two people aiming for her. Bridget bit her lip, hoping she did not have to witness her only friend fall, but then again, the other brunette was evasive and had fired a Knockback Jinx back, so she probably had it handled.

Now to choose who to target. The small girl was not thrilled at the aspect of hurting others as part of a game, but if Quidditch and dueling had proved anything it was that she had the capability. Her sharp hazel eyes settled on the biggest threat in the game, and in more ways than one. Quinn Healy. Bridget didn't want to be the one to knock him off his broom, but he was the only third year and as such someone that couldn't just be ignored. She had the perfect spell in mind too--she probably wouldn't last longer than him but she could at least give him a time limit.

"Mucus ad Nauseam," she pronounced, moving her wand in the correct tear-drop shape in the direction of the tall ginger.
