Hello Hello

Anemoi stepped onto the platform, glancing back one last time at the wall she had just stepped through, imagining she could still see her mother left on the other side. The Muggle woman had not been able to enter the enchanted part of the station and so their final parting had already happened in the regular part. Then Anemoi had walked into a wall-that-was-not-a-wall and found herself here.
Now she was alone, hugging her new leather satchel to her chest, trying not to drop anything as she trod across Platform 9 ¾. She was supposed to meet Elm here but she didn’t know any other students for now and it was a very big place with a large number of children and parents and other wizards bustling about noisily. Anemoi had no way of guessing where her new ginger friend was in the crowd. She was arriving early too, so he may not even be at the station yet.
“Bother…” Anemoi mumbled as she almost lost the corduroy duffle off of her shoulder. Having two pieces of small luggage and a large chest had seemed much more romantic in an empty hotel room than 3 bulky parcels felt in a busy train station. It seemed best to sit here and wait, so Anemoi found her way to a nearby bench and plopped down with a sigh. She dropped her bags on the seat beside her and only then did she notice the other student sharing the bench with her.
He was a tall-ish boy with messy dark hair and a he looked about her age, perhaps a first or second year student. So she gave him a small apologetic smile and greeting as she arranged her luggage “Oh, hello.”

Hello Hello
After an exhausting journey to the London station from Ireland, Argentavis felt blistering on his feet from ill-fitted shoes given to him by his parents. He couldn't wait to sit down as he knew he arrived early with nothing to do. Argentavis found a spacious, wavy bench with a rough, grainy texture. He immediately put his bags down, and the distance between him and his parents was finally getting processed emotionally. A new sensation came over him as he felt a sense of independence as if a fledgling that has left the safety of its nest.
Argentavis felt a soft gust of wind on his shoulder as he sat on the bench, staring out into the distance. His face perked up in amusement once he noticed someone was sitting beside him. Excited to say greet the company, Argentavis glanced at her, discovering a shy and apologetic smile complimented by the greeting of, "Oh, hello." Quickly, she turned to her luggage and began fidgeting with it and sorting it out, which prompted Argentavis to sort through his bag and pull out a lunchbox with biscuits.
He offered the mysterious girl with interesting curly hair a biscuit, asking, what is your name, curly? I haven't made any friends yet, and it seems like you're also alone; want to be friends?

Hello Hello
Anemoi grinned and took the biscuit the boy offered “Thanks… uh sure, maybe be friends.”
She tried a bite; it was shortbread just like Nan made back in Birmingham. The buttery sweet tasted a bit like the homesickness she was ignoring, but it also brought a small comfort in this strange place. Perhaps wizards weren’t so different after all, if they ate shortbread. The boy didn’t look different, except for the interesting way his wavy hair was sticking up from his crown. And she was pretty sure that was normal for a boy anyhow. This one seemed sweet, to share his biscuits with a stranger.
”Are you a first year too?” Anemoi asked him, extending her other hand to shake. “I’m Anemoi…”
The boy introduced himself as Argentavis Wingrave.
Anemoi tilted her head to the side thoughtfully as she repeated the name “Ar-gen-tavis… umm can I call you Tav if we’re friends now?” she laughed softly “I don’t think I’ll remember the whole thing…”
She searched through her sachel and offered Tav a rice cracker in return for the biscuit she’d eaten “You can call me Moi if you want, too. Um is Argentavis a wizard name? I’ve never heard it… But could just be uncommon. ‘Cause I’m Muggle and technically I’ve never met anyone else named Anemoi.” She shrugged “My old Greek tutor knew it though.”

Hello Hello

As Elm stepped onto the platform he could hear the creaking of carts, filled to the brim with suitcases, pets in their cages, and belongings, along with the chattering of children. Almost walking into a column, he had to be pulled back by his brother, Maple, before any damage could be done to his face. Maple directed him away from the tracks as they walked, to which, Elm was very grateful, since he knew he had the habit of swerving around as he moved.
Cocking his head to the side, Elm asked his brother, "What time is the train arriving at again? Was it 9:30?"
With a brisk nod, Maple responded, his eyes peering amidst some civilians, "Yes, but we still need to hurry. The platform sometimes closes off early and we wouldn't want to get stuck here, now would we?" He added the rhetorical question, a hint of mirth in his dark brown eyes.
A laugh emitted from Elm's lips and he shook his head quickly, "Don't worry. Unlike you, I have decent luck."
Maple smirked at that. "You didn't specify. What type? Did you mean bad or good? Because I'd vote on the former." A pout dashed across Elm's lips, that is, until he spotted a familiar column in between Platform 9 and 10. Maple also spotted it and his cheery face took a hint of longing into them. Quickly, Elm grasped the elder's hand dragging him to the platform. Before they knew it, they had vanished inside and onto Platform 9 and 3/4.
Instantly, a loud train whistle alerted the travelers of its existence. Luggage in hand, they both rushed to a nearby bench, sitting down breathless. Maple busied himself with checking their check list for the trillionth time; whereas, Elm kicked his legs idly, whilst looking around at the interesting people and their animals. Hearing a noise, he swiveled his head to see, but it was too fast and he cranked his neck. A small yelp sounded from the pain. Daring to open one teary eye, he recognized a girl on a nearby bench across from him. It was Anemoi and a dark haired boy.
A pureblood with a fascination for muggle objects, pygmy puffs, and plants.

Hello Hello
After sitting and chatting with Tav a bit, Anemoi spotted a familiar flash of ginger hair close by across the platform “Elm! Over here.” She waved until Elm glanced over and then started towards him, dragging her luggage behind her. “I thought you were lost! Oh, hey Maple”
Anemoi pointed at the new boy next to her as he had followed behind to Elm and Maple’s bench “I met another person— uh Wizard. He’s Tav… or Argentavis… You said, right?” She turned to Tav with a small nod.
After introductions between the three boys, Anemoi started chatting with Elm “Can we board yet? What time is it? Oh, and how do I get this big trunk up to the train once it’s–”
Anemoi’s questions were cut short by a loud whistling noise, echoing through the 9 3/4 station. Her eyes widened as she looked up to see a large train pull up alongside the group. “Well I guess we'll go now” She let out a bright laugh. The train looked very large and powerful, an old-style locomotive, with black and red paint and a golden plaque on the front with its name: Hogwarts Express.
Boarding passed in a blur. A witch took her trunk for her and stowed it somewhere on the train. The children were swept into the open doors of a middle car and pushed along until they managed to find and duck into an empty compartment. Anemoi lifted her duffle into the overhead storage and slid into one of the booth seats.
Here she was, finally on the way to Hogwarts, and she had found two friends for the ride. She let out a breath at last.
