Before Acceptance:
Kristen was born in America, while his parents were visiting relatives. His parents weren't expecting him for another few weeks, so they assumed it would be fine.
He lives in East London, With his parents Matilda and Michael Coulter, his two younger siblings Steven and Riley, and his cat Lucy. Kristen's mother is a doctor, and his dad is a nurse. Kristen originally aspired to be a doctor like his mother.
Personality:
Kristen always felt a need to be popular. As of this, he would frequently lie to get people to like him1, and he would mimic others opinions. Because of this, Kristen doesnt like letting people know what he's actually interested in.
Kristen also takes great pride in his appearance, and gets frustrated if he feels he doesn't look perfect( He would frequently arrive at his muggle school late because he had spent an hour trying to get his hair to sit perfectly), however he isn't vain. He believes he looks appalling, and simply wishes not to bother others with how he looks.
Kristen doesn't like his name, and asks friends and family to call him Chris.
School life:
Kristen was quite popular at his muggle school. The majority of people in his class were friends with him, and those who weren't still liked him (with a few exceptions). The problem was, Kristen didn't believe these people actually liked him. he believed his friends only liked the personality he'd shown them, and those he wasn't friends with despised him, as they could see he was lying. Because of this, Kristen doesn't feel he can tell the truth about himself to anyone, and couldn't talk to any one of his 'friends' because he believed he would hate him for lying to them.
In his last year of his muggle school, Kristen had to deal with a bullying issue. Kristen is gay2, and some people were making fun of him for that. He wasn't openly gay, they just assumed his sexuality. Kristen just dealt with this until he left, however he has attempted to change the way he acts since then to avoid being bullied again. (Essentially, he became more reserved, and lost most of his self-confidence)
Introduction to Magic:
Kristen first showed signs of magic when one of his friends scared him in an empty classroom. He jumped out of surprise, and all the desks jumped with him. Oddly, the friend didn't notice and when he told a few of his other friends, they didn't believe it had happened, so he decided to just forget about it.
Two days later, he fell down a flight of stairs, knocking several people down. When he reached the bottom of the stairs he re appeared back at te top of the stairs, the exact moment before he fell. After he went home, his parents showed him the letter from Hogwarts. They were reluctant to send him, as they didn't want him to go to a boarding school, But whenever he set his hand on fire by accident, they decided it was necessary to send him so he could learn to control his magic.

1) Kristen was once asked what his favourite colour was. He asked the person what theirs was first, and then responded "That's my favourite too!"
2)Kristen happened to have a crush on a boy in his class called Bryan. He never told Bryan this, as he was afraid of rejection.
3)He is, by association, interested in the deathly hallows, but he isn't interested in the same way as, say, Xeno. Lovegood. It's more of a mild curiosity.
