SPECTATOR THREAD FOR QUIDDITCH

What a wonderful day it was for the final Quidditch matches of the season. Warm but not too hot, overcast so not too bright, and just slightly breezy to avoid the staleness of still air or the whipping wind of a blustery afternoon - truly, they couldn't have charmed a more perfect day for sports if all twenty-two players had pulled out their wands for a joint Weather-Modifying Charm. Plus the commentator - new, perhaps, to the job, but certainly no less excited for her first game to shout. With any luck, the weather would be a harbinger of excellent sports-doing to come today.

The stands were quite full of students by this point, mostly in emerald and scarlet, though there were some stragglers left over from the morning match in golden sunshine yellow and deep night sky blue. After waving hello to some familiar faces in the stands, the commentator cast an ironically quiet Sonorus on her throat and turned to shout a thrilled hello to the equally thrilled fans gathered on the wooden bleachers.

"Hello all, and welcome to the actual final game of the year! It all comes down to this after the Hufflepuff-Ravenclaw match this morning - and let me tell you, that was certainly a match to remember!" For those who had perhaps missed the earthy badgers take on the flying ravens, the announcer's tone gave nothing away as to who had come out of that tumble victorious. "But now, welcome to theeee rivalry match of the 2024-2025 school year... you know them... you love them... perhaps you love to hate them... or perhaps you just like all the drama! It's... your very own... GRYFFINDOR versus SLYTHERIN!!!"

The commentator paused, a grin growing on her face, as the teams took the pitch. Fourteen players took to the skies, and a further eight went straight towards the bench, where they would no doubt participate today more than they had all semester due to some recent changes! As soon as the players had settled into their positions and seemed due to start, the announcer followed it up with one last pre-match announcement: "And before we get today's show on the road and battle it out for the rivalry match of the year, let's take a quick moment to applaud two of our seventh-year students: Slytherin's captain and co-captain, Dan Palmer and Koko Riddle! This will be their last match as Hogwarts students, so give them the love they deserve, no matter what colour is on your robes!" She paused for dramatic effect and to allow the cheers to populate the warm air, then continued. "All right, enough of that. Let's make them earn those cheers, shall we? Players, take your marks and... toss that Quaffle high!"
This is a spectator thread for the Quidditch Game. 200 words is still the requirement for all threads. Please remember that you are not able to interface with the players on the pitch from a spectator thread.

Dark Green sweater, black skirt, black sandals. Hair in pigtail braids. Wand. Purple crystal pendant and tulip earrings. Her prefect badge is in her pocket.
Despite the overcast weather, Kaitlyn was happy to root for the Slytherin team, but also for one of her friends on the opposing team. She wasn’t big on the house rivalry riff-raff. Despite being a newly minted prefect for Slytherin, she wasn’t there to strut around acting all important. Nope. She was there to cheer like a wild fangirl for her house.

The young Slytherin sat on a bleacher in the middle of the stands. Ignoring the weather, she wore a dark green sweater, a black skirt, and black sandals. Her brunette hair was tied in pigtail braids, with her wand tucked safely behind her ear. Her purple crystal pendant and tulip earrings sparkled. Her prefect badge was tucked safely away in a pocket of her skirt for now … just in case.

As the players were lining up on the pitch for the game to start, Kaitlyn jumped out of her seat. “Yay, Avery! Good luck out there!” She called out to the younger Gryffindor girl. Spotting her housemate, Violeta, she cheered for her, as well. “Yay, Violeta! Good luck! You can do it!” She cheered. “Let’s go, Cloud Cobras!” She cheered for her house.

With a smile, Kaitlyn sat back again. She had a feeling this was going to be an amazing match. Her blue eyes sparkled as the commentator announced the start of the game. She leaned to the front of her seat, as she watched for the action to begin.

Lesmana was almost late for the Quidditch game between Gryffindor and Slytherin. He blamed Skippy for that. After making sure that the spider was tired from jumping from shelf to shelf, he put the little creature in his nest. He didn't forget to put some snacks inside the nest before going to the Quidditch Stadium.

The game was about to start. Lesmana was relieved that he wasn't too late for the game. He observed the stands, and his eyes caught a familiar face, @Kaitlyn Connor. He approached the prefect and sat not far beside her. "I hope I'm not too late for the game," he gave her a smile.

Koko and Mellani did a good job with the Quaffle. Giving a total of 40 points to the team, Lesmana smirked. "Look at them. Koko and Mellani. They could score 30 and 10 points easily." He smiled proudly.

Then he saw the bludgers. He remembered he had been hit by a bludger when he was in school and it wasn't a good experience. He was brought to the infirmary after breaking his ribs. When the Gryffindor with two bats bludger Oliver and Avery, Lesmana couldn't help but the wince. Good thing, both of them could evade the bludgers. But the bludgers game doesn't stop there. Percival bludger hit a Gryffindor, making her fell from her broom. Not only that, it ricocheted to Maggie. "Oof. That must hurt. Hope they will be okay."

The game continued. He heard that there was a foul. A Gryffindor blatched Dan, but he was saved by Avery. He shook his head. But then it was announced that a Gryffindor was KOB, and no one saw the reason behind that. He also heard that Dan saw the Snitch. A hope came to him, filling his chest full. "Hope he will get the snitch before the Gryffindor."

The first round was exciting to see. He didn't expect that the students would play like this, so seriously and brutally.

Dennis hadn’t seen Meyra all day. This was unusual because as much as they were able, they spent far more time than ever before together. Chatting about everything and somehow nothing at all - long walks outside, or studying in the library. Even if they were busy and couldn’t meet, they at least made sure to find each other in the halls as they past for their classes. So today, as he passed the morning playing with the bracelet that Meyra had given him the day before, he was supposed to wear it as a symbol of good luck, he couldn’t help but be excited at the thought that soon he would see her. This time, however, she would actually be in the starting line up for her quidditch match! He’d get to see how impressive she was from the very beginning!

Dennis tied the handmade, rainbow colored, bracelet around his wrist and got up from his spot in the library. He had intended to do homework to pass the time until he could go see his girlfriend play, but he ended up not doing anything at all but staring blankly at several feet of unfinished parchment!

As the time grew closer, Dennis walked out of the castle and down the pitch. The energy, even from this far off, was electric. Everyone was ready for the spring matches! He had one more surprise for Meyra, however, as he tugged at his robes. He made his way up to the bleachers and sat happily with the Gryffindors, not really concerned with any split loyalty since Gryffindor was facing Slytherin. He chose a seat at the front, elbowing his way past a few rather rowdy members of the red team and tried to sit prominently so that Meyra might happen to see him.

When he was good and settled, he took off his school robe revealing a bright red shirt, a little off color from the rest of the Gryffindors. The color choice was of course on purpose so that he would hopefully be easier to see. On the front he had painted in bold gold font “MEYRA” and below it the number “30.” If ever he caught her eye, or any time she passed by, he would shout and wave with the arm that had the bracelet tied to it. For a boy who thought he’d be more subdued about supporting his favorite Gryffindor, it turned out…Dennis doesn’t do subtle.

One might consider it a dilemma.
A cruel twist in a peaceful story, a situation so awkward one might pretend they simply missed the game altogether. Because really, who wanted to choose sides when two of your friends were playing against each other?
Novalie, however, didn’t see it that way at all.

The Metamorph was running a little late - time had flown by quickly while she'd been with Eric, giggling over another round of dress-up in his Gryffindor robes. Sadly, he couldn't make it to the match this time, so dressed in the same red-and-gold getup to support Aodhan, as she had last time, Novalie made her way to the Quidditch Stadium.
Instead of squeezing through the crowd of roaring Gryffindor fans however, her feet led her to the Slytherin stands this time. After all, she was here for her best friend in the whole wide world as well!
In search of a seat, Novalie weaved through the green-and-silver chaos and casually shifted her appearance while at it. Her fiery red hair turned golden blonde, and her green eyes brightened into a sky blue.
Over a year she'd known Oliver now, so it was a piece of cake to mimic the colors of his features. The Ravenclaw hadn’t yet mastered a full transformation to make her look like his twin, but as of now, it was close enough to make her appear like a relative. Or so she thought, at least. One day, Novalie was confident, she'd get it right.

The girl spotted a free spot beside an adult and dropped into the seat without hesitation, glancing up at him.
Hold up... wasn’t he the Potions professor? Or had been?
Novalie wasn't sure, considering she had skipped tragically missed most of Potions classes. Still, she was sure he had definitely become someone’s Head of House - and judging by where they were seated, it wasn’t hard to figure out which.
“I’m here to cheer for my friends!”, Novalie declared proudly, nodding toward him with a wide grin and her usual lack of greetings.
Her eyes darted back to the stadium, scanning it for familiar shapes on broomsticks. And there - soaring through the air - was he!

OLLIEEEE!, the blonde shrieked at the top of her lungs, springing to her feet again and waving her arms wildly,
“SHOW THEM WHO’S BOSS! OLLIE!!”
She broke into a chant, dancing and clapping without hesitation,
“Clap and smack, they're on the floor,
Gryffindor won’t be dancing anymore!
Not a hug and not a cheer,
he’s the end that’s drawing near!
Yay, let’s go! Look at him fly!
He’s not here to just try!
Ollie's here so down you go,
that’s just how his victories FLOW!”

With more cheering and clapping, she followed him with wide eyes, until another familiar shape caught her attention - Aodhan!!
It seemed he hadn’t spotted the Snitch yet ... or was that just a clever bluff? Novalie’s eyes sparkled with admiration.
Of course it had to be a bluff. Aodhan was just smart like that.
And he deserved a chant, too. One she’d prepared just for him.
Drawing in a deep breath, she belted out,
“Catch him if you can? NO, you can’t!
Aodhan’s in the house - that’s too damn bad!
He sees the shift, he feels the breeze,
he’ll catch the Snitch with such an ease!
Eyes so wide, they seem so kind,
but he just read your panicked mind!
GOOOOOOO AODHAN!!! WOHOOOO!”

The great thing about yelling and cheering constantly was that you got used to it. Novalie barely ran out of breath nowadays, much to the delight of everyone seated near her, of course. Who wouldn’t love being screamed at during a match?
Oh - that reminded her!
The house colors. Red for Gryffindor and green for Slytherin. She just so happened to know spells that produced dazzling sparks in both.
Obviously not bothering to consider what they were actually meant for, the girl whipped out her wand in pure, unfiltered excitement and pointed it towards the sky
“Periculum!”, she yelled, with the clear intend to cast Verdimillious next.

Spectator Quidditch Gryffindor vs. Slytherin - Spring 2025
It was a warm sunny day and Katy and her friends walked over to the Quidditch Pitch. They picked a comfortable spot where there seemed to be the best view. Slytherin and Gryffindor were playing against each other today. This should be a good game, Katy thought to herself. "This game can improve our abilities so we must pay attention", Katy stated. A tall and thin girl with stringy, blonde hair and murky, green eyes passed by. Katy recognized her as one of her classmates. The exact class escaped her at the moment. The girl's had a stern expression on their faces to which the forgettable girl explained that they probably should not be so serious, it was just a game and to have fun with it. "When you play this game you, must take a deep breath and stay relaxed. Good luck to the team you'd like to win", she said then disappeared into the crowd.

"Thank you. We shall remember your advice", Katy called after her. Katy saw her favorite player, turned to her friends and said in a very low voice, "Isn't he amazing". Katy said as she pointed to the seeker. Katy remembered him smelling so sweet when he passed by her in the halls. I wonder if he stills smells the same, she thought as she watched him do loop de loops.

"Wow, it's so cool", said Katy's friend to the left of her. Her long blonde hair temporarily blinding her in between gusts of wind. "I agree. You know I've always liked him from the start, Araminta". Araminta Longbottom was a lovely person. Katy met her at the sorting ceremony and they became fast friends when they chatted during the welcome feast.

"He is so unbelievable. I just love him", said her other friend to the right of her. Katy also met Penelope Pennyfeather during the welcome feast. Her short black hair whipped in the wind and her piercing blue eyes darted around in pursuit of the seeker's broom as she spoke. Katy always thought Penelope looked so cool even thought they all wore the same uniform.

Just as they were speaking the seeker whizzed by. Katy and her friends wildly cheered along with the other Slytherins. We shall celebrate properly in our common room if we win. Maybe I will get the courage to speak to the seeker, Katy thought as they all continued to watch this very exciting game.

A girl with blonde hair and sky blue eyes was approaching. It wasn't hard to notice her. The contrast of her clothing in the seat of Slytherin students even made all the attention directed at her. "Sure," Lesmana nodded when the girl sat beside him.

Looking at her robe, she must be cheering for the Gryffindor team. Why would she sit here? Lesmana wondered. But anyhow, there was no rules of the seat. The girl seemed cheering and... singing. Lesmana chuckled at her act. Ah... She's cheering for both teams. Lesmana understood the reasoning behind her seat decision. But the next thing was beyond his expectation, she cast Red Spark Charm.

Lesmana's eyes widened.

He immediately snatched the wand from her hand and put it inside his robe. "That's dangerous. You could make the players blind if you miss the direction." Lesmana sighed and smiled at her. "Let's watch the game safely, shall we?" He looked at the girl, waiting for her reaction. "I will give your wand back once the game ended." @Novalie Moon

He continued to watch the match again. Slytherin was once again on fire. They scored many goals and made the Gryffindors fell from their brooms. He couldn't be more proud that this. His concern now was the snitch. Lesmana wondered who would catch the flying golden thing first.

I am merely here to observe the seekers' tactics...

Right?

Nabi hummed softly to herself as she adjusted her black sunglasses before glancing around for an empty seat. The day was young, the sun at its peak, and the wind caressed her expressionless face. I already feel the need to leave... the corners of her lips pulled slightly, creating an expression that could only be described as... displeased. The sunlight had never been kind to those who lacked melanin in their eyes.

So why should she be kind to the sun?

Hidden behind the dark shades, her gray eyes analyzed the Quidditch field. Was she really there to observe the seekers' strategies? The announcer's voice boomed while Nabi had taken a seat, her eyes narrowing, Merlin...

"Hello all, and welcome to the actual final game of the year!" Nabi had not attended the game that had occurred earlier in the morning. Why? Merlin knew. "It's... your very own... GRYFFINDOR versus SLYTHERIN!!!" Her eyes followed the players who took to the sky.

She was only there to learn...

Or so she kept telling herself.

Nabi's gaze shifted toward a player who sat down. She knew from the announcement he would be playing for their house's team this game. The conversation on Quidditch played in her head as if the encounter had only happened the day prior. Will you show what lies beneath the hesitance? She hummed softly, subconsciously tilting her head before looking away.

Or will you remain drowned in the still water?

She calmly placed her hands together while she remained seated, glancing around, I wonder if Mr. Campbell is here...

To anyone who would listen, which were fewer and fewer as the match went on, Dennis would point out Meyra and talk about how absolutely brilliant she was on a broom. This led to people slowly shuffling away from him leaving him an obvious site as there seemed to be a moat of emptiness around him as he continued to hoot and holler.

During a particularly tense moment, Dennis thought she was a goner! A bludger was going straight for her! “Watch out!” He cried, knowing full well she would never be able to hear him. When she nimbly dodged as if she herself was a professional, Dennis was all smiles and thumbs up! “That’s my girl!” Dennis yelled at the nearest person, who was now 5 seats away as he pointed vaguely in Meyra’s direction, the bracelet she had given him for good luck now sliding this way and that as he waved his arm frantically.

“Let’s go! Focus up!” Dennis clapped as if he was her coach and manager. He had absolute faith in his girlfriend that she’d carry her team to victory even if it looked as though they didn’t have a chance at all! Gryffindor may not be the best of the houses, but Meyra was certainly the best quidditch player he had ever seen in his life!
