Clumsy Accidents and Friendships Closed

Amelia went out to the lake to read and explore the grounds a little after breakfast. She had sat down in the dewey morning grass, underneath one of the tall evergreens surrounding the lake, when she realized that she hadn't written to her parents yet to inform them where she had been sorted.

Picking up her black leather messenger bag, she began searching for some parchment, a quill, and some ink. Finding parchment, she laid it in her lap before renewing her search. As she had grabbed ahold of the ink bottle, the wind caught the edge of her parchment, her last piece of parchment, and lifted it into the air and toward the lake.

Amelia scrambled after the parchment, dropped her stuff and left it by the tree. Running across the grass in her mary janes, not even thinking to use her wand to cast an accio charm, she slipped a little on the dew covered ground but kept her balance and kept running. She should have seen it coming, what with her clumsy past, she should have expected this to be the outcome of such Gryffindor like behavior. One moment she was running, the next she slipped, fell, and rolled down the small slope, catching her shoulder on a rock. Groaning in pain, laying on the ground, her parchment quietly landed in the middle of the lake where the giant squid quickly snatched the parchment and into the lakes depths.

Anomili had a full night, but that doesn't stop her from waking up the next morning bright and early to continue her exploration. Anomili immediately wakes up with a prepped bag from the last night full of quills, parchment, snacks, water, and a blanket. She grabs it quickly and sprints past all of the other girls in her dorm, completely skipping the hustle and bustle of breakfast, and heads outside of the Hogwarts walls to a place she had overheard the other Ravenclaw girls talking about, the Great Lake. She had never been more excited, it was only a little while since she had seen the water in her own hometown but she loved being around large bodies of water.

As she came upon the edge of the evergreens, she took a moment to take in the grandiose site before her of the dewey morning grass and the slight fog that held the morning lake. She was delighted. She set down her pack and pulled out the blanket, sitting on it and smelling the fresh morning air.

Suddenly the sent of fresh ink hit her nostrils as she looked to the far right of her she saw another girl with the same orangey fire hair as her sitting and preparing to what looked like draw or write on parchment. She thought how interesting it was to find a girl who looked almost like her in the same place at the same time. She chuckled to herself when she realized how happy she was to be someplace she considered homely.

Suddenly she saw the parchment fly, dancing through the air towards the lake, the girl darting after it. Anomili stood up to see if she could grab it, slightly jogging to go grab it, but it was too fast for her. It flew into the lake and a gigantic quid took it into the lake. Anomili stopped suddenly at the edge of the lake. Taking two steps back with wide eyes as she wasn't quite sure what a gigantic squid wanted to do with parchment. "Dude that sucks, I'm sorry do you have more pa-..."

As she says this she sees the girl on the ground groaning in pain, looking to have a cut on her shoulder. "Oh Merlin! Let me help you!" She rushes to the girl quickly to help pick her up and assess the small wound. "Today looks like it's not your day madam!" she laughs and smiles to the girl.
