A Keeper's Schedule
Forward dated to the 9th of November 2019
It was a rare day that she was out here without Kyle, but he had his new chess set and she had her new broom gifted to her for making the quidditch team. She hadn’t gotten it in time for their first day, but she had it now and that was all that mattered. She had woken up early and gotten dressed in her quidditch robes and tried to wait until curfew was lifted, but impatience got the best of her and with no one around she left the common room a little early, but only by a handful of minutes.
Making her way swiftly out of the castle with her new Nimbus 1500 in hand she felt the same rush of excitement as she did for her first game. Today was not going to be a normal training day for her, but instead, she was going to do flying drills so that she could get used to how the new broom handled while she was in full quidditch gear. Kicking up onto her broom she started off by taking laps around the field and swooping in between goalposts. She flew for hours and hours this morning practicing as many things as she could over and over until she felt like she and the broom were one and the same.
It was important for her to be absolutely comfortable because if she was ever pulled up onto the field, she would need to only focus on 3 things the bludgers, and the quaffle. She had no time to be worrying about how her broom behaved in a situation like that. During all of this she realized it was getting close to breakfast time and that she should probably call it a morning she could always go back out later and continue practicing that evening, which she probably would do because then Kyle would be more likely to rejoin her after had having a full day to play with his new gift. So with that, she would simply lower herself to the ground and dismount her broom.

She'd thought about it for ages in her bed the previous night, Dorian purring on her belly as her mind wandered in circles. She'd sent Santario an owl, but she hadn't gotten a response back; she figured she could safely assume the other girl had thrown it away or something. So now she had two options: she could let the whole thing go and stop poking her head where it didn't belong (and let Santario dislike her for the rest of eternity) or she could find the girl somewhere and apologize to her (seeing as her apology at the ball was... less than well received). There really was only one option, but Catriona really really didn't want to face the look of barely disguised disgust on the other girl's face like she'd seen at the ball. She'd have to be brave, though. Sitting around and trying to delay the inevitable wasn't going to help.
So she would have to talk to the other girl. It didn't take long to find her, soaring above the Quidditch Pitch effortlessly. Catriona was envious for a second, jealous of the way she darted gracefully in the air. It was like watching a dancer twisting their body in effortless jumps and turns. She waited under a nearby tree until Santario was finished, barely reading the book she was trying to use as a distraction.
She snapped her book shut when she saw Santario touch down. Before she could think about it, she got to her feet, running over to where the other girl stood. "Hey, I uh... I wanted to apologize for before. I don't think I did a very good job of it at the ball? For the lake, I mean. I didn't mean to lie to you or upset you, and I did. So I'm sorry for that. Is there any way I can make it up to you?"

Santario was happy that it seemed like that there was no lasting damage from her broken arm that she had received the night of the masquerade ball. She was going to inspect her arm, which she knew was all well and healed, but movement caught her eyes. Someone running towards her… A girl… You’ve got to be kidding me?! Is she stalking me now? Santario started to remove some of her quidditch padding. Santario watched her come up with her cold sapphire eyes and listened to the word vomit that spewed itself from the girl’s lips. “You didn’t mean to lie to me? Yet it came so easily to you regardless on how bad you are at it.” Her gloves dropped to the ground starting to pile on which would soon be her quidditch gear.| Interacting with | @Catriona Staverly |
“Not only are you bad at it, but your apology was weak with you also running away. Makes sense that you aren’t a Gryffindor with the cowardice you exuded.” Her silvery voice cold and acidic as she spoke to the girl. “I assumed the ignored owl would have been enough for you to get the hint, but here you are. Stalking my schedule? You have some nerve, but you should accept the fact that I despise people who lie to me. It was clear that you cared a lot more about chasing after him than you did getting to know me regardless of the fact that he said he had to go to practice, which he did. She continued to glare at the girl her forearm pads dropping to the ground.
Santario wasn’t going to fight this girl physically but the piling up of quidditch padding between the two might make the girl think otherwise. Santario wasn’t looking for an argument or a fight she just wanted the girl to leave her alone. “Since you so very much seem to want his company why don’t you go ahead and go find him and cry about how his best friend is being so mean to you because she won’t accept your crap apology.” She was getting heated but even she didn’t fully understand why.

Catriona couldn't decide what was worse: knowing Santario despised her or the fact that Santario thought she was a coward. Freddie, her sister, would have punched the girl. Freddie probably would tell her to punch the girl. But Catriona wasn't her sister. Plus it wasn't like punching her would solve anything. In any case, she wasn't going to rise to Santario's bait. She would not get angry. She did something wrong, and now she had to fix it.Interacting with @Santario Martin

Catriona swallowed, giving herself time to think about what to say. Santario was clearly upset, about Catriona's lie and about her abandoning the other girl at the lake. Catriona set her mouth in a grim, determined line and looked up at Santario. "I don't value DeRook's company over yours. I just wanted to make sure he was alright. And I didn't want you to think I was brushing you off. Though that didn't work very well." Her voice softened a little and she smiled (only a little sadly) at the other girl. "I really am sorry. Give me a month and I'll make it up to you? I completely understand if you don't want to see me again. I'll stop bothering you if you'd like." She stuck her hand out to the other girl, hoping Santario would shake it. "Truce?"

Santario had not been purposefully baiting Catriona but had the girl taken it, it would not have ended well for sure. While the girl spoke Santario removed the French braid from her hair and ran her hand through it to tousling it a couple of times. She took a deep breath and let it out as a sigh before taking the girl’s hand. “Look I may have acted a bit unfairly by not even reading your owl and for that, I apologize. It may take me some time to trust you because I cannot stand people who lie to me. I would of rather you had just told me the truth.”
She gave the girl a half-smile, but it didn’t quite reach her eyes and she would take her hand back from their little truce shake. “I have a lot of things going on right now… Some of which might be unfairly being taken out on you… So for that, I do apologize.” She would then continue to take off the rest of her quidditch padding and collect it up in her arms. “You do deserve a second chance… I was raised better than that, but as I said… Trust will come slow.” She would start to walk towards the locker rooms and she would not stop Catriona if she decided to follow her.
