Alyssa was bubbling with excitement as she pushed her trolley across King's Cross station. The day she rode the Hogwarts Express to her new school had finally come! Her Uncle Morris had kindly dropped her and her parents off at the station in his muggle car. It was quite a journey, as muggle cars usually were, but he insisted on sending off his favourite niece since he wouldn't see her for months. After a whole lot of persuasion, her mother finally relented and agreed to take the car together. Though it wasn't her father's first time in a car (he was muggleborn), her mother was understandably more wary of the four-wheeled contraption. Besides, why spend an hour in a tiny machine when you could floo there in seconds? But Uncle Morris was quite the persuasive man.

As they arrived at the platform between 9 and 10, Alyssa remembered what her father always told her about the brick wall. "Which wall is it, dad?" she asked.

"If my memory serves me well, it would have to be that one," he said, pointing to a brick wall a few feet away where a boy had just disappeared into.

With an excited giggle, Alyssa sped up her pace till she found herself infront of the wall. Her heart was racing, and she gripped the trolley handle tightly. "It helps if you give a little run. Gets rid of the nerves," her father said with a smile. With a nod and a deep breath, Alyssa pushed her trolley forward into a run. It was so quick that she found herself emerging onto a train platform filled with people the very next second. That was wicked! she thought. Soon enough, her parents appeared behind her, having gone through the wall themselves.

The platform was bustling with people, some young like her, others a bit older like her cousin Tom. Some of the students had owls in cages, toads in their hands, or even cats lounging atop their luggages. It was definitely a sight to behold. Beyond the throng of people sat a red steam train - the Hogwarts Express!

As the crowd bustled about around them, Alyssa and her parents made their way through to a less crowded area to board the train. With a quick cast of Wingardium Leviosa, her father loaded her luggage from her trolley to the luggage compartment of the train, leaving behind a small carry-on briefcase packed with her school uniform and essentials to take with her onboard.

Once that was done, she turned around and gave her parents a long hug. It would be the first time she would be away from home for a long time. "Take care of yourself, alright?" Her mother smiled, tucking a stray strand of hair behind Alyssa's ear. "Owl us as soon as you know your house. We'll send you something to celebrate together," Her father said with a wink.

Alyssa smiled as she nodded and gripped her briefcase as the whistle sounded, calling for the last students to board the train. It was finally time - and it was really happening! The day she had dreamed of... Once she boarded the train, she stayed near the door as it closed and the train started to lurch forward. Spotting her parents through the window, she waved goodbye as they faded further and further away, and eventually, she could no longer see the station anymore.
