2024/25, Stage 3 Ravenclaw vs Slytherin: Match 6

Maintaining his storm of green fire, Cassian cast another heightened version of the Fire-Making Spell. This time, Cassian knew it was a perfect cast. Perhaps the most perfect spell he’d ever cast in a duel. It was powerful, the green flames taking the form of some kind of winged creature as it hurtled across the piste. But as perfect and powerful as the spell was, the Slytherin boy was fast on his feet and he dodged out of the way, just in time. Cassian knew he wouldn’t have lasted against a spell that powerful. Before he could notice anything else, Cassian felt a tight cloth wrap itself around his head, covering his eyes. He knew instantly what had happened, having used this very same spell several times before in previous duels. Hell, he’d even been on the receiving end of blindfolding charm once or twice before, but never during a duel. He felt panic begin to swell up from his stomach as he was suddenly very aware how dangerous it was to be blinded on the piste.

Losing one's sight in a duel was a dangerous effect, Cassian fully aware of this as he scrambled to loosen the cloth around his eyes. Thankfully the knots fell away with some tugging and wrestling, the black fabric falling away and dissipating as the spell ended. He wouldn't miss much of the duel though, gaining sight in time to see Edward draw the familiar Flipendo symbol in the air towards the still Slytherin. After the previous rounds, Archer appeared to make no move against the Ravenclaws. Lea struggled to hide her confusion over the decision, but perhaps he prioritized dodging for the time being.

It wouldn't matter much though, Edward calculating perfectly where Archer would be in the moments after releasing the spell. The casting itself was nothing new, but the spell twisted in its arc across the piste to hit Archer right in the chest as though he had intentionally ran into the line of fire despite his attempts against it. The last little bits of fire sapped the Slytherin's energy and with the final hit Archer fell, the impact a signal for the end. Still, Lea marched forward with a shout of, "STOP!" Medical attention was the priority, waiting for the final Slytherin to get transport to the medical wing before she addressed the crowd, motioning towards the standing eagles. "AND WITH THAT, CONGRATULATIONS TO RAVENCLAW AND THEIR VICTORY!" Cheers erupted for the 2 Ravenclaws and the Hufflepuff turned to address them directly. "That concludes this duel- congratulations! You all did really well, I suggest you head to the hospital wing to check on your teammate and your own injuries before joining back with your team for celebrations if you'd like. Amazing job, though and congratulations once again."
