interacting w/ @Brielle Gray

Gem's brows furrowed, turning to look back over at Brielle with a faint little smile, a more confused expression.

"Enjoy is Wyatt's band, love, s' not an album," He said, a little snicker leaving the back of his throat. He stretched his legs out, then his arms, kind of like a cat. As calm as he was feeling, he felt a twinge of irritation, all that tough energy turning into something aggressive. He decided to think about the Garden, then, just the music running circles in his head. He liked the Garden, yeah, he loved the Garden, that was one of his favorite bands. He felt quite pretentious, making that correction.

"Really? Fletcher? Tha' lad hardly talks, sort of joost... briefly elaborates on wotever Wyatt has ta say if he's got the microphone pointed at him." He sniffed, reaching down to pull the grass between his fingers. He was multitasking, sucking on his tongue, pulling green grass right out of its precious ground, was looking at Brielle with a bit of a squint, and had his mind playing Thy Mission like a musical trinket. It almost gave him a headache, he felt sick, he felt annoyed, and he felt... well, wrong. Like everything was off for no particular reason. Hm. "I guess Fletcher's all right, though. Good hair."

"Do ya like Mac Demarco?"
He wanted to listen to Mac Demarco, suddenly, and the Garden. Maybe that wouldn't be so bad.

"Aye, nuffin' much, laa, how've you been then?" the Ravenclaw replied back, a stretched smile showing on his face "Alright for now, hopefully the rest of the week will be the same." replied the Slytherin, a small smile of his own showing on his face soon after "Never caught yer name, did I? M' Gem, pleasure." the boy named Gem said over to him. Chris nodded over to him, happy to finally know the lads name and opened his mouth to do a proper introduction of his own "Christopher Madson, glad to meet ya". His gaze soon went to the person who was behind the tree, now that he was closer, he could see the outline of a girls body, but who it belonged to was still a mystery.

"This here? Oh, s' me lady, Brielle? She was the bird who fell out ov a tree, remember tha'? Gem answered, solving his question in a matter of seconds. Chris remembered the incident as if it was yesterday, a 1st year falling out of a tree was quite hard to forget "I certainly do, an incident like that wont escape my mind for a long time." joked the boy before quickly turning back into a serious tone "But hey, i'm glad you're alright." he nodded over to her, his gaze resting on the knee she injured from the incident. Gem looked back over his shoulder to look at Brielle, a confused look on his face. He could tell the two of them had gotten pretty close after the chaotic event, maybe something was blooming between them, but it was too early to make assumptions at this point.

Gem soon started speaking names which he didn't recognise, like Fletcher and Whyatt. His guess was that they were some kind of duo, who knew what they were "Do ya like Mac Demarco?" he asked over to the girl. Now that was a name he did notice, but for the bad reasons. The singer in question was talented, yet the music he produced was boring and strange to his ears, it was simply not his cup of tea "Demarco ain't my cup of tea really, I listened to a few of his tracks and never got into them. You listened to the Strokes at all, or any other rock bands?" He questioned, since rock was more down his alley compared to other genres.

"Oi, hol' on a minute, did'ja joost say the Strokes? I fookin' love the Strokes!" Gem went from laying down lazy to sitting up, his back straightened in a heartbeat. "Mate, that's me favorite band right there! Julian's vocals 're goddamn amazing!" He felt all happy and excited, all because of a dumb indie band he just happened to be in love with.

"Right, how about Sonic Youth? You like any Nirvana? Or how about Franz Ferdinand?" He was yapping out questions at that point. This Christopher guy? He was a bit scared of him at first, but now he thought he was just the coolest guy in the world! No one ever knew a damn thing about the Strokes, but if he knew any of these other bands? That'd be a damn worldly wonder, and they were goddamn wizards. He almost forgot he was wearing a Strokes t-shirt, just their name on an old, worn out shirt. It was probably his favorite, he was shocked it wasn't held together by a thread. Old faithful, he called it.

"Wots your favorite Strokes song, bruv? Mine's probably the entirety of Is This It, or- or Juicebox, tha' song gets me goin', it does." He felt like he was ten all over again, rambling about his favorite band like a little girl. It was good, it felt great.

"Oi, hol' on a minute, did'ja joost say the Strokes? I fookin' love the Strokes!" said Gem, who seemed to give Chris his full attention now. The strokes must of lit his excitement up like a switch, the excitement clearly shown in his face that looked up to him "Mate, that's me favorite band right there! Julian's vocals 're goddamn amazing!" he said soon after. They were a very good band and in his books underrated, the music and sound they produced doesn't get enough recognition "Aye, they have that unique sound you don't hear anywhere else. But I feel they are an underrated band these days" Said Chris with a sigh, due to the fact it was true.

It would be a surprise to anyone that Chris was a avid rock listener, considering he played a classical instrument like the violin. From quite a young age he took interest in listening to different genres, some more than most. Rock was certainly one of them, and definitely one of his most listened with classical close by "Right, how about Sonic Youth? You like any Nirvana? Or how about Franz Ferdinand?", Nirvana and Franz were two great bands with both having iconic songs, but Sonic Youth was a new name to him "Franz and Nirvana I've heard of, but Sonic youth is totally new to me. I may have to give therm a try when I have the chance." Replied Chris, who now had "Take me out" playing on repeat in his mind, hell it was a good song.

"Wots your favorite Strokes song, bruv? Mine's probably the entirety of Is This It, or- or Juicebox, tha' song gets me goin', asked the boy again, his questions almost coming out uncontrollably at this point. Chris could tell Gem was a passionate kid when it came to music, especially rock "Well, Someday and Last Nite in my opinion is the best songs they've produced. To be honest, most of them are quite good, but those two songs have always struck a cord in me" the Slytherin replied back, a small smile of remembrance coming to his lips, as if he had unlocked a past memory that had been locked away.

Gem was buzzing, his face lit up in a childish burst of joy and sheepish embarrassment over spilling all those questions out on Chris. Aw, he responded well - he couldn't complain.

"Yeh, bruv! Sonic Youth's joost incredible, one ov Kurt Cobain's biggest influences, they are! When they went on tour togevver, Kurt let Kim Gordon put makeup all over 'is face for a good portion of the shows, when e' wosn't all fooked up on drugs." Though he was a wizard-born, Gem had a hefty amount of knowledge for those muggle bands he loved so much. Even the ones he didn't care much for, he had a fun fact or two about. He did have a flare for research, must've been why he was a Ravenclaw.

"Right then, I've performed Someday before! Sooch a fun song, puts a happy little feelin' in my chest, it does. You ever heard e' song Under The Cover of Darkness? That song's a real banger, honest ta God. Type that gets stuck in yer head and sends ya to a whole other world, really, I swear it." He exhaled, finally finished with his tangent of responses that bubbled out of his mouth like a baby speaking gibberish. "Uh... well, if ya ever want to, we should 'ave a jam session, if ya play anythin' ovver than the violin. If I had known there were other kids who knew all 'is good music, I'd be a whole lot happier!"

When they went on tour togevver, Kurt let Kim Gordon put makeup all over 'is face for a good portion of the shows, when e' wosn't all fooked up on drugs." the lad said. For a person who seemed to be born in the magical world he had vast knowledge of music, unless he was secretly a muggle born that is. It was a shame what happened to Cobain, his drug and mental issues were a big part him going down a dark path of no return "Who knew what he would be doing today if he was still around, hell Nirvana may still be making music" frowned the Slytherin who also thought of the possibility of no Foo Fighters if that was the case, sometimes sacrifices had to be made.

"Right then, I've performed Someday before! Sooch a fun song, puts a happy little feelin' in my chest, it does. You ever heard e' song Under The Cover of Darkness? That song's a real banger, honest ta God. Type that gets stuck in yer head and sends ya to a whole other world, really, I swear it."he explained with determination in his voice, with each sentence he seemed to be getting more excited and bubbly about the subject "Cover of Darkness I've heard a few times and like you said a real banger. So far I haven't heard a bad song from them and I hope it keeps that way if they ever decide to make more music" Chris said with a raise of a brow after he mentioned himself performing "Someday". That came as a surprise to him since he wasn't expecting a student at this kind of school to perform a song like that, who knew, maybe other students were like him "Uh... well, if ya ever want to, we should 'ave a jam session, if ya play anythin' ovver than the violin. If I had known there were other kids who knew all 'is good music, I'd be a whole lot happier!". Chris nodded slowly and thought for a few seconds, he did know a good few songs on the violin as well as a few of the rock songs that have been translated to the violin. There was something else that Chris could use, but that was totally out of the question for now "Aye, I do know a few songs that you may like from the violin. They were a bugger to learn but it didn't half pay off when I mastered them. he said with a fold of his arms and a slight nod "But yea... I'd be happy to do a Jam and make something work. It will be interesting to see what we can do" Chris grinned over to him, knowing it could turn out to be something amazing or a total disaster. Although, it really was only for fun.
