Best of Both Worlds
Willow breathed a sigh of relief when Elsian said he’d come into it with an open mind. There was a period of time earlier in her life when she was filled with disbelief. She would do magick with her family but never actually believed in what she was doing. She was being bullied so heavily in her neighborhood for her family practicing Wicca. It’s not like her family was secretive about it in any way, but she wished they were. This disbelief caused all of their spells to go wrong, or not to work and she ended up getting in a lot of trouble when her mom and dad confronted her about it. If they were going to do this, he had to be in it or it could go south.
When he mentioned that they should pick it together she shrugged “I mean... there aren’t really any bad spells in here. That’s not the kind of Magick my family practices. Do you have any... tests or homework coming up that you’re unsure about? We could do one for good grades. Or if you have a little crush...” She paused and wiggled her shoulders at him. “We could do an attraction spell. Or if there’s someone you hate there’s a banishing spell, but like you can’t have me be the person that gets banished because I’m doing it with you. Just name a few things you’d like to see and I can tell you whether or not that’s possible.” She pulled the book back towards her, flipping through it mainly for her own homesick remedy that was hitting her in doing spells with her family. Her face dropped for a moment thinking about home, before forcing a smile back on her face and looking back up at him.

Best of Both Worlds
@Willow AndersonElsian made a face when the other suggested a crush instantly shaking his head and shoving slightly at her shoulders as his face heated up slightly. Pointedly, he looked back to the book giving it a look over as he spoke.
"No thanks...I can't see that ending well." he admitted eyeing over the pages with a small look of dismay.
He let the other thumb through the pages, eyes drifting over the different 'spells'. Gaze wandering up between messy bangs he didn't miss the face the other girl pulled when she turned another page. Sad or maybe upset about something? He could feel himself get annoyed when her expression morphed back into a smile. Fake and forced and all around terrible.
He hated it.
Lips pursed he turned away, pointing at a spell that he'd skimmed over. It was something about goodwill or happiness or something of the like for the ones casting the spell and he figured that would be good enough for now.
"This one seems simple enough," he said, hands shoving against the desk in a move to get up.
"If it works at least I won't have to see you wear such a plastic smile," he huffed fighting off the annoyance bubbling in his chest. He had to fight down the urge to pull at her check like he'd done to Nim whenever she lied about her feelings.
"Seriously. Don't force yourself to smile like that. It's unhealthy is what it is." he scolded gathering up his things as he stood. He swore if she even tried to deny the fact she'd forced the smile he would retaliate. Childish as it was. He'd do it.
