Aida and Cassius continued to struggle against the magic bindings that prevented them from retaliating against the lions. Only Cassius found success, finally mustering the force needed to break through Evelynn’s power. He slowly regained control of his arms and legs which allowed him to stand up and rejoin the duel, but there was some lingering stiffness in his limbs. On the other hand, Aida came up short, failing to break free from the paralysis. Damion, who had finally decided to make his presence known in the duel, tried to give his teammate an assist, targeting the slowly-tightening cords around their arms. However, thanks to Meenauh’s previous spell, the Ravenclaw just couldn’t concentrate enough while feeling like he was hanging from the ceiling. Magic failed to release from the tip of his wand.
Instead of going on a blasting spree, the Gryffindors seemed to focus on cutting away at Damion’s sails, making it much easier for them to hit him in subsequent bouts. Meenauh sent an expected Blasting Curse his way. The ball of fire exploded beneath his feet and Pyxis shielded his own face to avoid the resulting splinters, wondering exactly how Damion was feeling after tanking a Confringo while still trapped within the Limbo Mist. A tempest manifested from Evelynn’s wand, blasting Damion with a strong gust of wind. Unfortunately for the lion, the eye of her wind storm missed the bird entirely. As the winds died down, a dark cloud settled over Damion and mixed with Meenauh’s gold mist. The bird would now find it hard to see much of anything at all, and the lions would lose sight of Damion in the fog.

As Damion failed to cast his spell, a satisfactory curve appeared on Meenauh's lips. When strategy was paying off and the duel's actions' results were building up as expected — it was a pleasure. Watching Cassius stand up, thought, made the curve turn back to serious stance. She knew what Cassius could do, so that was a danger rising up a few steps from their team. The hazard of the duel reached its peak for Meenauh. She loved the challenge and started to have an unhealthy habit to the dopamine it brought.

Aida was indeed a claustrophobe and it was hell enough to be bound, but after all this time duelling, it was particularly horrid because of one particular result of binding curses: boredom. Sheer boredom. There was simply nothing to do when one could neither move nor cast. It might as well be a spectator sport at that point, Aida surmised, of which they were never a fan.

Damion looked around and smiled. He was happy to see that his team was still standing and he was doing well himself. He steadily held his wand as his wand and was ready for what came next. Despite having missed the spell, it didn't deter his determination. He was ready for whatever came next.

Her counterparts seemed to fare better, a strong explosion at Damion's feet sending shrapnel ripping through the fabrics of his garb while fog billowed to obfuscate his immediate surroundings. She certainly didn't envy him in that moment. The wounds weren't terribly severe but that still looked like they would smart for some time. As Eden finally managed to overcome his binding and rose, she cast a glance to her partners in search of the next cue. |

At some point Cassius intended to petition the school to add padding to the duelling stage. It was rather inconvenient and uncomfortable to be laying on a hard wooden surface when paralyzed. There should at least be a cushion. Perhaps an ornate rug. Something to offer some comfort to the fallen. Alas, the only comfort he found was that of the wood. With luck, such inconvenience would not last too much longer.

As normal as magic was, it was also terrifying. Many spells in dueling naturally fell into that category. As you grew, so did the tenacity of the magic. Galton remembered a time when he'd wake up in cold-sweats having dreamed of getting hit with yet another flipendo. But now - now that spell was confringo. There was a reason he had dubbed Meenauh as "The Mighty". The confringo he watched crash across the piste was the thing of his nightmares. It had to have been one of the strongest he had ever seen. And on the other side, Damion stood there as if he'd taken a blow from a 1st year's flipendo. These moments were why he dueled.

The Ravenclaws were slowly finding their footing again after taking on a disadvantaged position from the start. Aida hadn’t made a single move yet, but there were signs that their inaction was coming to an end. With one final push, they broke free of the magical wards that kept them in place and because the spell itself had worn off, they felt no hesitation from their limbs as they regained movement of them. Still, the cords around their arms tightened again, reminding them that there was still something to overcome. Damion, lost in a sea of gold and black, decided to give the lions a taste of their own medicine. Even more fog covered the stage, and Pyxis had to squint in an attempt to keep up with everyone’s casting. Evelynn was now almost as blinded as Damion was, but Galton’s use of his heigtened senses allowed some alleviation of the effect on him.
Cassius decided to exercise his skill of casting at two people, but his attempt at giving Meenauh and Evelynn swollen eyes was half-thwarted by Galton who conjured a flock of birds to deter him. The birds swarmed around Cassius’ wand arm, causing him to miss Evelynn completely. By some stroke of luck though, he managed to hit Meenauh. The Gryffindor’s line of sight would shrink and… was that blood? Pyxis had to look away. Before the obstruction of her vision though, Meenauh swung another ball of flames towards the birds just as her faux confidence fizzled. This time, Cassius was her target. Despite being hindered by the lasting effects of paralysis and the dark fog around him, Cassius hopped out of the way and avoided having his ankles destroyed. Only the splinters from the floor of the exploded piste gave him some trouble. And Evelynn found great success with the placement of her Cracker Jinx, catching both Damion and Cassius in its radius. Could she replicate that almost perfect accuracy with the fog now surrounding her?

"The f-," she started to swear as if it was the first time. She just half-expected it. That was why one should have not allowed such bad boys any casting. Her spell missed, but Evelynn's didn't — that was the last thing she saw, before her eyes stung and... started to bleed.
Ah... She saw that once from Cassius, she was surprise how did he hit so hard with the spells, but the Oculitumescere was placed not hit. So it was something about how Cassius did it naturally. What a trick. And then, with her eyes half-shut, she saw the fog wrapping the people around her, blocking them from her vision almost completely.
