All my other e-mails are personal and already have my real name in them, I cannot be bothered to create a new one for an iNPC. Plus, of course, I do support the desire for further customisation and individuality of the iNPC themselves. But the effort it requires to acquire a spell and the inability to earn scholarship or galleons themselves? It is a hassle. I do not mean to be critical with the current system, but if it has more negative aspects to it than positive, shouldn't they just abandon the idea or improve it? I do not see how any of this is necessary.
But you do you. I will postpone creating my iNPC until the system provides improvement to this decision.

i would give it time considering the system just got announced today. a lot of the positives that were listed are for future considerations that we are not able to experience just yet, and i figure all the "negatives" are to be worked out as time goes on considering this is still a transition period. but the concerns y'all are talking about have already been brought to staff's attention afaik.

Yes, you will be allowed to post in OOC forums and play games with the new iNPC accounts as long as it is being used responsibly.Avery Gray wrote: 31 May 2025, 18:28 I’m super excited to finally flesh out Dylan more! I really need to update the last couple of spells to my trunk though.
Also, quick question, are we allowed to chat in OOC forums and play in the Games’ Room with our new iNPC accounts?

Also, sorry for all the questions, but I have one more. I saw something that said your iNPC goes through the sorting ceremony. Does that mean that you get access to a Hogwarts Common Room even though your iNPC is from a different school?

All valid concerns. I have emails with my name on it, too. If you have a mac/iphone, there is a way to create an email that allows any emails to be forwarded to your personal email. Likewise, there is a functionality with Gmail, too, where you can add a period and it still goes to your email. Testing is being done, however, so we have to see.Aurelia Valentine wrote: 31 May 2025, 18:31 All my other e-mails are personal and already have my real name in them, I cannot be bothered to create a new one for an iNPC. No. It is used for the house points your iNPC earns to go to one of the four houses. Furthermore, if you decide to transfer your iNPC to Hogwarts at a later date, that would be their house. The iNPC does not have access to the common room.Avery Gray wrote: 31 May 2025, 18:37Thank you! Same. I've been doing just fine with Casey being attached to my PC account. That's more than enough for me.Aurelia Valentine wrote: 31 May 2025, 18:31 All my other e-mails are personal and already have my real name in them, I cannot be bothered to create a new one for an iNPC. All my emails have very personal stuff attached to them, all used for different things and I can't delete any of them for the sake of making a spam one for my already successful iNPC. I've maxxed out the number of emails I'm allowed on the system(s) I use.
I agree that this new system is quite the hassle. What boggles me the most however is the incessant usage for emails. A username and a password ought to be more than enough.
There's a lot more I can say but I'll lay off for now. I've a ton of respect for the site and its members and don't want to sound ungrateful, but my critical thoughts are a testament to how much I want to see the site succeed in the best and fairest way(s) possible.
