The Scars That Define
The grounds on October were muddy and made it a feat to walk across from the quidditch pitch to the Scottish castle. The skies glowed a warm vibrant orange hue as the sun began to sink into the horizon. Dinner in the great hall would have already commenced. One thing Aurelia has learnt throughout her two years in Hogwarts was to arrive at the table relatively early as if it were any later, the good food would more or less be non-existent.
Brown splotches of mud began to cover the bottom section of her shoes to her dismay. She would have to clean her shoes later on in the Gryffindor dormitory. Shoe cleaning was not much of a difficult task assuming she could simply cast a spell and get it over it but the pureblood has better things to do like the piles of assignment due in less than a week. However half way through the grounds, Aurelia noticed a faint silhouette of a shorter and probably younger student standing alone by the waters which pique her curiosity. There wasn’t much of a reason to why Aurelia chose to approach this girl rather than minding her own business and continue her journey to the great hall. It was uncommon to find one by lake alone and perhaps she was merely curious on what this girl was up to. Back in her first year, Aurelia was quite impulsive and had many escapades in these waters. Of course, the thirteen year old matured through the years but who knew what this younger student was planning on doing. “Are you enjoying the view or do you intend to go for a swim?” She states her presence with a question. “Dinner in the great hall should have commenced, just so you knew.”

The Scars That Define
The sky was full of streaks of royal purple, violently bright pink, and melon orange. With the castle looming in the background, it was truly a sight to behold. Every couple of nights, she would find herself drawn to the sunset over the lake. And, she didn't mind missing dinner. Growing up with little, two massive feasts a day were by far enough.
Suddenly, someone spoke behind her. Aideen looked up, startled at the voice. She could faintly make out another person in the fast-approaching darkness. A girl, she was sure, at she was at least a second year. Maybe even a third. They were asking if she was going for a swim. The answer was no, of course not, the water was probably freezing, and why would you want to swim with a giant squid anyways.
She wasn't sure if the questions being fired at her were accusations. This girl was older. She looked tough. Aideen felt the sudden urge to run away and hide. But then she would definitely get in trouble. Perhaps the truth was the best in this situation. She'd play it friendly... for now. If things got rough, her human instincts and her werewolf ones would battle it out. Fight or flight- and she wasn't sure which one would win.
"I-I, um, didn't see you there. I'm Aideen. Aideen Ryan, Ravenclaw First Year. Who are you?" Realizing that this did not answer either question, she blushed, a little embarrassed. "Er- I like watching the sunset. Over the lake. And I do know that dinner's starting yes. It's pretty."
She felt like burying her head in her hands. This was going horribly. Sentences were just not happening today. Aideen was pretty sure she'd just told the other girl that dinner was pretty. I mean, it was, especially when you weren't used to having a lot of it, but... ouch. The sunset, I mean. The sunset is pretty. Not dinner," she added hastily.
How awkward could this get?

Aurelia announced her presence when she was only an arms length from the girl, even then, the pureblood had not expected the girl’s reaction to be an introduction. Nevertheless, Aurelia went with the flow. “Aurelia. Aurelia Notrésvace,” she reciprocated. The soul purpose of her advance to the lake was merely to remind the girl not to jump into the waters and that the feast in the great hall was commencing. Now that Aideen made it clear that was not planning for a swim, Aurelia could return to the warmth of the castle.
Indeed, the sunset was beautiful as always, but having aboard the school for more than two years, the vibrant orange glow along the horizon was not much to pique her fascination. However, as she turned on her heel to make her way back to the gates, a pale mark along Aideen’s arm caught her eye. Through her years in Hogwarts, Aurelia had bore scars from spells and burns but none like Aideen’s. The Gryffindor’s brows furrowed slightly. She had seen the mark before in the books she studied on monsters. The scar’s in the girl’s arm was uncanny to those she saw of werewolves.
Aurelia reached out, for the girl’s arm. If Aideen did not resist, the older girl would examine it before the aspiring Monster Hunter finally began her inquisition, “These are scars from a wolf. You are a werewolf aren’t you? ”
