He fell into light laughter and smiled while listening to her speak. He genuinely was interested in what she had to say. An showed it through the way he listened to her. "Ah ye. Very astute. It's a company in Japan they make Hello Kitty and other stuff that my sisters won't stop pestering me about." He rubbed the back of his neck sighing in dread. In a way that only an older sibling truly could.

"But enough about me an my awesome skills as an auror. What about you? What are your interests hmmm?" He enjoyed talking like this. It calmed him and kept his mind from wandering incessantly to other dark areas of his mind. Even the water that was now retreating from them as they traveled further was growing less and less prevalent in his mind. Causing his body to naturally relax. He would be more relaxed if he didn't have to walk so slow it was excruciating and he was starting to grow impatient.

"...okay ye know what I can't keep walking this slow...You wanna just get on my shoulders and I carry you?" He suggested blushing faintly in slight embarrassment. It was sudden and out of the blue but walking so slow was really starting to get to him and this was the easiest solution he could think of.

His laughter was pleasant and a bit contagious as she giggled softly with him. She enjoyed speaking with him and when he corrected her, she nodded but still bit her bottom lip as well. She didn’t know what Hello Kitty was or anything about it, would he make fun of her? She looked up at him thinking probably not. “I’m an only child… and I didn’t really get much outside world interaction.” He might be able to tell from the way that she said it that it was not necessarily something she enjoyed talking about.

She smiled again when he asked her about her interests it wasn’t very often that she got to talk about the things that she liked. She was mainly used to just speaking about quidditch and everyone else’s interests. As she was getting ready to talk about what she was interested he declared that walking this slow was just not for him. She covered her mouth and giggled before nodding. “Of course we can do that. Normally I would try to match someone’s stride, but I think I would have to jog to do that with you. This seems like a great compromise.” She would cooperate in whatever way she needed to, to get on his shoulders comfortably and easily.

She would rest her hands on his forehead for balance when they were finally situated. Now that they were so close, he may even be able to smell the gentle scent of almond and vanilla. “Now that we’re settled, to answer your question. I want to be a master of potioneering as well as a healer. There is just something about healing people that makes me feel… Well warm, I guess. I don’t like seeing people in pain it really just breaks my heart and I feel the need to help out where and when I can. My family says I have a natural talent for it just like my mother.” She paused for a moment as she took in the site from where she was.

Being so high up was so interesting and someday maybe when Quinn and she were better friends, she might ask him to carry her around when she had her camera. It would make for some great shots that was for sure. “Potions, of course, go hand in hand with that too. I want to learn about them as well as poisons because you can’t counteract poisons with antidotes if you are not well versed in them.” That was her opinion anyway get to know your enemy the best so that you know how to stop it before too much damage was done.

With Sanrio firmly on his shoulders he suddenly lengthened his strides greatly. Picking up the pace almost exponentially. "Ooooooooh sweet baby Jesoehs drenkin melkin in a Iresh choehrch!" He exclaimed in contentment sighing in absolute relief from the great stretch his legs were getting. His mind momentarily distracted he did not hear part of her statement as he was brought back to reality once he heard potioneering.

"Ooooooh potions! Well ain't that a sweet little charming thing. Potions are wonderfully frustrating fascinating and fun. That's really admirable you seem like the type to be able to fix things. Heh who knows maybe one day you could even fix m-" He quickly stopped himself as going wide as mentally kicked himself for nearly letting his secret partially loose. "Anyway a healer huh? That's absolutely fascinating and hey we all got things we don't wanna talk about it. Some of what ye talked about seemed like very touchy subjects am I right?"

He let everything else she said sink with him. He understand her passion well, he had his owns afterall. He even stated so earlier, "So I take it you don't really know much about...what do those purebloods call it again? Right Muggle culture. They're missing out."

Again he elicited giggles from her when he expressed being happy about walking at his normal stride. She liked how he listened and commented on the things that she said. She could tell that he was actually paying attention to what she said. It was an interesting change of pace compared to the adults who mostly pretended to pay attention. Really, they were quite busy and as much as San understood that it was still nice to feel like someone was paying attention. She did catch him cutting himself off because he had said too much of the sentence for her not to notice it. However, if there was one thing San had learned it was when you should and should not point something out. This was a should not situation. "I will say that I would be more than happy to help you whenever you find yourself in need." It was a safe banket statement because so long as they considered themselves friends she would always try to help no matter what.

She, after all, had just met this boy formally and was sitting atop his shoulders. She was quite enjoying her time up here and the last thing she would want to do is upset him and make him put her down. As much as the question ‘how’s the view up there’ might probably be very old for her she certainly loved seeing things from this height. He continued and asked her about things being a touchy subject. No, this boy was not stupid or unintelligent, in fact, at the moment he was very observant. She leaned forward slightly and rested her chin on the top of his head. It would not adjust her weight so she figured he would be fine. She would sit straight up again if he asked her to. “I-...” She faltered before taking a deep breath and letting it out as a sigh.

“Yeah, I don’t know a whole lot about muggles and their lives. I’m a pureblood, but I was isolated a lot. I had a private tutor and we didn’t really even socialize with any other families. My mother’s side is French, and they are very well to do stuck in their well to do world with their noses stuck so far in the air I’m surprised they can see passed them. My father’s side is Irish, and they are amazing. Warm, kind, and loving. I don’t get to see them as often as I would like. My mother is a healer at Saint Mungos so she is always really busy and my father is a writer so he is often in his office.” She realized that she just rambled and dumped some of her life story on him and she hadn’t even meant too. It was a good thing he couldn’t see her right now as her face turned a shade of scarlet. “So uh… Yeah. The only thing in the muggle world I know a lot about is healing. I can perform CPR, basic and survival first aid, and things like that. Magic isn’t always going to be available to us. Sometimes we will be in situations where we can’t utilize our gift and it is better to be safe than sorry. Also sorry for just kind of dumping that on you. You’re easy to talk to. I like you, Quinn.”

He was interesting, great at conversation, and a good listener why wouldn’t she like him? Plus he could offer her a vantage point for some of the best photos that she had never thought about before… Not that she just wanted to use him as a human tripod but asking him, later on, was definitely not out o the question at some point.

Quinn's smile fell a little and instead transitioned into a smaller one. "Aye thank ye I may just take ye up on that offer." He headed for the trees nearby while listening to her talk. While Quinn listened for the briefest of moments he felt that annoying voice pop back in. Whatever was in his mind caused the Half-Giant to miss a step and stumble forward. Quickly they regained their balance but having someone on top of him did not help with the balancing issue as he grabbed their legs face already bright ride for some reason and eyes wide.

"'arlin what is gahd's name is wrahng wit you!? you can't say dahse sahrt o' dings and foehrthermahre get back to de depths o' mend where you came frahm you sahrry excuse fahr a gentleman!" Unbeknownst to Quinn who was too focused on what ever this Harlin or arlin person said blurted out his own thoughts. His bad habit for literally speaking his mind showed up in force today it would seem, catching the boy completely unaware.

"Now Quinn. My love, my friend, my wretchedly weak host. Normally that would peave me but I would like to point out one small, little detail....YOU BLURTED THAT OUT LIKE AN IDIOT. I'M DED!"

If Quinn's face was red as a tomato then it just became redder then Rudolf's nose. The young Half-Giant stopped in their tracks looking down at the ground in what could best be described as shock. "...H-H-How much of that did you hear?" He mumbled in an uncharacteristically soft tone. The only other thing he could hear was the wailing cackles of Harlin in his mind at the sheer embarrassment of his otherwise random outburst. Along with the fact he cut off the poor girl no doubt.

Quinn stumbled and she let out a startled squeak. Here it goes death by fall damage while getting a shoulder ride from a tall boy. Her body instinctively tried to help counterbalance his stumble, her hands gripped his forehead just a little tighter to help keep herself seated, and her legs tightened on him even as he grabbed them. All things she learned how to do while flying a broom, Quinn just happened to be a very interesting broom.

She obviously couldn’t see his face as they settled themselves out and before she could even stop to ask him if he was okay and if everything was all good, he blurted out words that didn’t seem like they were directed at her. He wouldn’t have told her to get back into the recesses of his mind nor would he call her a gentleman. That would be an odd thing to call the girl that you were carrying on your shoulders.

There was silence for a moment before he stopped and hung his head. A stutter hanging on his lips as he asked her how much she had heard. So he wasn’t talking to me… but then… who? She was right when she had initially thought something was off about him. “More than you wanted me too I am sure.” Honesty was her choice in this situation. It was possibly a dangerous choice, but he would feel her physically relax as she rested her chin back on his head. “Are you okay? Want to pretend like that never happened? I don’t mind. I’m used to it.” Whenever she and Kyle go into a fight he just wanted to pretend it never happened so she went with that. It seemed easier…

“I only heard you… I don’t know who you were speaking to, but I am sure it wasn’t me… I know we just met and all, but if you want to talk about it you can. If you don’t you do not have to. My pa always tells me that you don’t have to talk about the scary things but sometimes it makes you feel better. So if now is not the time like I said before. I’ll be around when you are ready.” The girl did not run, not that she could, screaming from him or call him a freak. She didn’t truly know what was going on with him, but she would be there when he was ready to talk about it. “Besides what are friends for, yeah?” She moved one of her hands from his forehead and pet over his hair where her chin wasn’t resting trying to help make him feel better. It made her feel better when people did it to her, so why not?

He kept his eyes firmly glued to the ground in front of him. Without a word he started to move again, letting go of your legs. "...Friends huh?" His freckled and christmas red face scrunched up for a moment. "...I guess that does make us fast friends." Slowly he lifted his head up taking in a deep breathe, not much minding the increased pressure on his forehead. She didn't fall off so that was good. Though it was mostly an afterthought for him.

"Your da sounds alot like me mum. He sounds smart." He started to smile, "Since we are friends then please pretend you heard nothing about what I said...maybe when we're better friends I'll tell you." His voice was a bit louder now but there was sadness in his the way he spoke. Well maybe not so much sadness as it was shame.

It was at that point that he felt he needed to change the subjects it wasn't her business. But she respected his outburst for what it was and even offered to forget it. She didn't freak out either so she was already pretty high up on his list. An it didn't seem like she was negatively judging him, what she thought about him didn't much matter. Sanrio's current actions spoke loud enough for the young Half-Giant as it was.

"...All I'll say is this...I was never normal to begin with considering I'm not fully human." It was something he didn't like to admit but Sanrio showed her trustworthiness earlier and he figured as a safe measure he could at least divulge that much to someone like her. She seemed nice enough and there was something about her that he quite liked. Couldn't explain it.

"Anyway of course you dad's family is fun. They're Irish we're nothin but fun!" He exclaimed suddenly changing the topics and trying to brighten the mood as he looked up to see where he was going.

Santario was fully relaxed now again. “Indeed fast-friends.” She agreed because she had no reason not to be his friend. So he spoke to someone who wasn’t there and whatever conversation they had, had made him almost fall over and drop her. He didn’t and they were both fine. So far, she could only conclude that maybe he just had an imaginary friend, after all, it wasn’t out of the question. Though the way he spoke she had a feeling it was something more than that. Her gut feeling wasn’t often wrong but at the same time she didn’t feel like she would ever be in danger from him, so she went with it.

“He is a very smart man.” He was closer to her than her mother was even though she had spent more time with her mother. Their personalities matched better, and he understood her want and need to just be alone or to just sit in a room and say nothing sometimes just enjoying the company of another person. They were two peas in a pod and although her mother mostly understood them there was just that one aspect the social butterfly would never understand. “Consider it temporarily forgotten.” She continued to play with his hair she wasn’t sure if it was working at calming him but he was acting more calm and relaxed even when bringing up things that seemed to upset him.

The sadness… no shame, in his voice broke her heart into a million pieces and she was grateful that he couldn’t see her face. Tears stung her eyes as her heart ached for him. She managed to blink them away and didn’t say anything about his not fully human statement; she didn't trust her voice not to betray her emotions. Now was not the time nor the place because she had a feeling if they got further into who exactly Quinn Healy was, she would no doubt burst into tears. She giggled when he spoke about Irish being nothing but fun and she nodded her agreement before realizing that he couldn’t see her. She stopped playing with his hair and put her hand back on his forehead and adjusted her chin placement on his head so that she was more comfortable.

“Exactly! I never have anything but fun when I am with them. Hey, Quinn?” Getting his attention with his name her once confident silvery voice now holding a sheepish tone. “Thank you for not making fun of me for not knowing about muggle stuff. Would you mind telling me about your favorite muggle thing? Whether it is a game or well anything really.” The Slytherin girl wanted to know about the world she had been isolated from just because she was ‘lucky’ enough to be a pure-blood.

Quinn couldn't help but notice that Sanrio was having a time with his hair. It caused his cheeks to start flaring up with color again. The feeling of having his locks played with oddly enough felt kind of soothing. Of course his mind was still a mess considering the small outburst he just had. Quinn could not believe how easily he let his carefully kept secret partially slip out. Harlin could really just be...such a piece of work if he was putting it lightly.

The redheaded Half-Giant was made even happier when she said it was temporarily forgotten. That was something Quinn could work with, and who knows maybe one day he would tell her the truth. They were friends now and he enjoyed her company. She hadn't run yet, "O-Oh yes?" He felt her soft hands on his forehead and for the first time picked up the sweet, mellow scents of almond and vanilla. Once again his dark freckles became obscured by the intense burning of his cheeks and a new feeling he had felt once before.

Wait. Quinn couldn't focus on that he had to answer question. Come on Quinn get ya mind focused remember your usual self. The curious, stubborn one...yeah that one. A grin graced its presence upon his face. Yeah his usual confident self she asked him about one of his favorite subjects and how in the hell could anyone make fun of her for it. Sure he joked with others about not knowing about stuff but that's what learning is for. "Well well well. Ah'm glad ye asked me. An why would I make fun of ye for something you don't know about it. Sure maybe if I didn't know you were a pureblood I might have looked at ye a bit crazy but sometimes we all jump to conclusions. Besides this means ah get to teach you and talk about some of my favorite things."

He paused to collect his thoughts and to look up slightly. "...Enjoying my luscious locks of hair Sanrio am I dog to you? Actually don't answer that" He teased having a bit of fun with himself. It was a tad forced but he mostly meant it. He hadn't really noticed before, however Quinn did enjoy head pats...secretly. No doubt Sanrio found that out by the manner in which he so quickly calmed then relaxed after his outburst. "Heh. Now about ye question I have an answer...er question really. Do ye know what tabletop games are?"

She shrugged a little when he asked why he would make fun of her. “I don’t know… Sometimes I worry about it because I feel like I don’t know as much as I should.” The poor girl was 11 going on 20 carrying worries on her shoulders that she just didn’t need to at her age. Then again there was also an immense pressure on purebloods to be superior, granted this was only by other purebloods. It was a stupid and outdated way of thinking a mold San was trying to help break, and it most certainly would be no easy task. Come to think of it as far as she knew she wasn’t even friends with any other pureblood.

He called her out on playing with his hair and her face turned 30 different shades of scarlet. “I just- It always comforts me… When people play with my hair when I am upset. So it made sense to do it. Sorry.” He hadn’t sounded upset at all but an apology, in a sheepish tone, was given none-the-less. She didn’t want to offend him, so it was better to sometimes just apologize just in case. Something Quinn might catch on to that as she did get more comfortable, she became less painfully formal. A formality no 11-year-old should possess but even when she felt like she messed up as they conversed her comfortability with him progressed and she relaxed. It allowed her to act a bit more like someone her age should, if at least, only a little bit.

He asked her about tabletop games and she thought for a moment as she surveyed her view from her perch on his shoulders. “Hm… I don’t think so. I’ve played Twenty-Five and Switch, but those are card games. I’m not sure they qualify by what you mean as tabletop games? Tell me more!” He would be able to hear the smile in her silvery voice when she told him to tell her more. She was like a sponge and knowledge was the liquid so the more he wanted to tell her the longer he would have her rapt attention.
