Nodding and responding with a kind 'thank you' to Angellica's compliment on her own outfit, Lark sat a little easier in her chair feeling her body relax. It was nice to not feel so on-guard and something about the blonde girl made Lark feel comfortable.Interacting with @Angellica Rowley
"Are you starting Hogwarts in September then?"
"Yep!" Lark grinned enthusiastically. She was rather excited to start the school year, mostly so she could dive right into her studies and have the castle to explore finally. "Honestly I'm quite nervous about it.." She murmured softly, one of the corners of her mouth turning up. The last bit of Angellica's comment about their ball made her look up quickly, a brow raised in question.
"Disco ball disaster?" She couldn't help but let loose a laugh. "You have ta tell me about that one!" Although she felt bad seeing maybe that the girl didn't have the fondest of memories with that part of Hogwarts. Not wanting to make her uncomfortable as she was enjoying the company, Lark decided not to pry anymore about it.
"Thank you, I was pretty nervous. I'm glad I did come though, you're right. Plus I would have missed out on meetin' you." Lark crossed her legs under the table and flashed a smile. As much as staying at the Lake to draw had been tempting and skipping the party she really was glad that she ended up attending.
"Would you like one?"
Blinking at Angellica, her lips parted slightly. This girl was so kind! "Really? Oh, thank you!" Carefully Lark settled on one of the macarons and took a bite. The texture was like nothing she had, had before! Plus whatever the flavor was she couldn't place it but it was amazing.. and so smooth! A warm feeling spread through her as Angellica asked for a bit of help with her own bracelet.
"Me either but I don't mind at all! As long as you're okay with this being pretty new ta me as well." Even with her mother's craft supplies she had never been allowed into the room let alone touch any of it... she had only ever been allowed her own supply of drawing tools which was fine with her. Although this whole bead thing was quite enticing. She looked down at the beads that Angellica had picked out. For having never made jewelry before, Lark admired the selection.
"You already chose some really nice beads." Giving the girl a kind smile she held a finger up. "Wait a sec!" Rushing up to the table she took a few moments to pick out a couple different beads and some silver spacers before taking her seat back at the table, extra wire and fixings in hand.
"How about this, I can make another an' show you as I go? If I can remember how I got the dang fixings ta stay again! I 'ad ta really give a good couple knots." Lark laughed and set out the supplies on the table in front of the two of them. Picking up the cord and showing how she readied the fastener on one side to hold the beads on before threading each one on. "I figured this would just help 'em stay in place easier so they don't spill all over."
"I'm sure people have some sorta order..." Lark shrugged, "but I mean just kinda wingin' it makes it more.. you, y'know?" Giving another smile she strung the last of the beads onto hers and waited for Angellica to finish. "Even if you think of the person you want to give it ta, sorta puts a piece of you into it for 'em." Lark hoped she didn't sound too ridiculous a small flush filling her cheeks.

Fear of the unknown was always the hardest, and though Angellica wanted to be warm and offer solace, she also didn't want to ruin the moment either. She remembered her own ride over, even her parents had kept her in the dark about the ceremony, but had assured her she would be fine. "Sorting isn't so bad," she offered a soft smile. "I mean everything gets so overwhelming between the Great Hall and just the boat ride to the castle that it goes by really fast," she offered giving a bit of a glimpse. "Hogwarts A History definitely helped keep me calm through my own anxiety," she added. It was on the reading list, and it had come in handy for the blonde.
"Oh well we had an end of year party, and I was late, but from what I gathered someone tried to jump on one of the floating discoballs and since they had a hive mind, they all started attacking. It wasn't as bad as the blossom ball or whatever, glad I skipped that one. I heard rumours about veritaserum and misuse of the fire making spell." Angellica was starting to think school functions were best skipped, but she would probably still make an effort in her second year, though she would probably bring her own drinks, and definitely wouldn't stick around unless she had to.
Angellica smiled. It was nice to not be the only one unsure what to do, but the other girl seemed to have some idea. String, clasps, beads, Angellica had a mess in front of her, and though she had planned to make two bracelets, she was still unclear of how to make one. Instead she took a couple trays and started to line the beads up. It seemed the logical way to go about it, but in the end, she would have appreciated written guidelines.
"I'd really appreciate any help at this point," she admitted, something that didn't suit her ego by any means, but it was the truth. Learning new skills meant acknowledging it wasn't there to begin with. Plus, she really wanted to make that bracelet for her mother, the S looking decoration making her feel like it worked for the woman who's maiden name began with an S. A little trinket to offer in exchange for the right to remain at Summer camp.
Angellica watched as the other tied a fastener to the end and started stacking beads in no particular order. Though it made the blonde slightly uncomfortable, she also sort of saw what the other said. Chaos was how some people were, and in turn the charms held a warmth to them that she had never seen before. "I can see that," she noted. It did seem to fit the girl before her, and that was nice.
Picking up a silver string and clasp she tried to make a few knots as the other achieved. "Like this?" she asked showing off her work before daring to add a glass bead to her work.

Letting her mind dream up the scenarios that Angellica had mentioned about how the last Hogwart's parties had happened, Lark continued finishing up her bracelet. If this was how things had been she was a little worried but also excited at what her years at Hogwarts would hold for her. Hopefully not any broken bones... but perhaps some exciting adventures!Interacting with @Angellica Rowley
Lark eyed the beads that Angellica was working with as she placed them. Even if she wasn't sure what she was doing she really did have such a good eye for fashion and not just with her outfit!
"Like this?" Angellica was doing such a splendid job! Lark was in awe of her bracelet setup.
"Yeah! That looks amazing!" She swooned over the beads and the way the light glinted off of each one. The pattern in the second bracelet's beads were absolutely stunning. They looked like a swirl of magic whirled around inside of them.
Tying off the other end of her own bracelet, Lark hooked the clasp into the loop and looked at Angellica. She did seem to have a certain look about her but feeling as if she should thank the girl for taking the time to sit with her and even offer up advice on Hogwarts, Lark wanted to give back to her in some way. Having gone up to the bead table she had tried to pick out things that looked similar to what Angellica might enjoy.
"Hey I uh.. I actually made this for you.. Just ta say thank you." Lark held out her hand with the bracelet nested in her palm. Maybe this was too cheesy? She had never had interacted with anyone her age and wasn't sure what the 'norms' were for exchanging anything.. she also didn't want to come off as rude or pressuring the girl to accept it. "I hope that's alright! I just figured..." She paused feeling a little unsure of herself. "I don't want you ta feel like you 'ave ta take it, you can pass it along if you wish! I just wanted ta do somethin' ta show how much I appreciated you hangin' out here with me.. I noticed the peonies you 'ad on the present and thought maybe the beads with 'em in it would work well.." She gave the girl her best smile slightly aware if she didn't stop herself from talking now it would turn into full blown babbling out of nervousness.

Serena tiptoed as far as she could, placing both arms around the taller boy as she tried to hug him back. He was far taller than her and she was awkwardly hugging his chest but she returned the hug as best as she could. "What's up?" She asked him as she let go and turned her attention towards the food table again. He brought up the sugar and chocolate, which made Serena ponder for a moment as she inspected the nearby food. "I think this one might be milk chocolate, that could be dark..." She replied as she observed the different food items. It was a little tricky to tell in some cases, especially when it was mixed within baked products, but she was guessing based on the colour of the chocolate.
"Ah! I'm going in!" She announced as she picked up one of the cupcakes and started to remove the wrapping, taking a bite. It literally just melted in her mouth. It was so tasty. She had chosen one that turned out to be a red velvet cupcake. "Ohmygod, thisisdelicious," Serena mumbled with her mouth still full - which her mother would have scolded her for but she could not help it. She had to tell Quinn how tasty it was so he could get some cake too. She wanted to try everything now but wasn't sure her stomach would be able to hold it all. That was a lot of food - and perhaps too much sugar for someone to consume in one meal.
Nodding as she finished up her cupcake, she agreed with Quinn, "This place looks awesome. I haven't really made any bracelets before though but it seems kind of fun." She replied as she turned to look around. Once she spotted the bracelet making table, she turned back to the food table, grabbed another cupcake, "Wanna try and make something with me?" She asked Quinn, bopping her head towards the jewellery table, as she fancied giving it a go.

Quinn listened to her and watched her expressions. He didn't mean to stare but sometimes he just couldn't help it. People watching...yeah maybe that's what it was called. At least that's what his granda called it. Brannigan too now that he thought about it. Anyway he just couldn't help it. To Quinn the activity was so fascinating, fun, and well just most curious. Most curious indeed. Couldn't really properly describe it and many would label him weird for doing so.
Quinn simply nodded and mhmed the entire time she talked. Agreeing with her for the most part as she told him her thoughts an he even tried a cupcake as well. It was pleasantly sweet. Oh how he loved the sugary tang of sweets. The energy it gave him, the shakiness, the joy...the guilt. He loved it all sweets were his drug of choice. He didn't even know what that meant but damn did that phrase sound cool to say. Maybe he should ask a professor about it later? Questions for another time.
When she spoke again he was snapped out of his mental conversation. "Heh of course. I mean I'm absolutely trash at this sort of thing. Like look at my hands!" He wriggled his long fingers around and wave his large hands. "Could grab a large cake with these things!" He exclaimed again falling into childish giddy laughter. "But yes I would love too. Should be quite quite quite quite quite fun!" For someone who loved sweets sugar rushes hit him harder then Mike Tyson could punch and faster then lightning. What strange student he was.

Serena paid little attention to the fact that he was observing her. In fact, she did not actually observe that. She used to get so self-conscious about these things because her mother would insist that one should be on their best behaviour at all times as people will judge you for it - especially at the parties that her mother took her too. Things were different now, though. She had kind of gotten used to it.
Grinning at Quinn's reply, she chuckled a little. His hands were a lot bigger than hers. She raised her hand, almost instinctively, as he showed his to compare. Her hands were smaller, by far. But she did have long fingers - though they were not the same length at his, of course. "I mean... We could... eat the large cake and make jewellery," She replied with a grin, deciding that would be a great idea. What kid didn't want to eat all of the cake?!
"Let's do it!" Serena grinned as he agreed to giving the jewellery making a go. She had no idea how to make anything either but she figured they could play around with the equipment and learn as they went. She made her way to the bracelet making table, hoping Quinn was following behind her and grabbed a seat. There was a bunch of different coloured strings, in different thicknesses. Pausing to fall into thought for a moment, Serena tried to figure out what she should make.
Picking up two different colours, taking the gold and black strings and started to play with them in her hands for a few moments. She looped it in her fingers and tied a knot, leaving a couple of inches on the end loose. Fiddling with it, she tried to knot it together but the threads kept moving as she did. Serena grabbed a piece of tape and stuck down the top of the bracelet - where she had knotted - to the table and started to plait them. Right now, she was honestly just playing with the material, trying to figure out how to make something. Professor Bercegeay had not given them any instructions so she was definitely just making it up as she was going. "I have no idea if this is going to work..." She admitted.

Quinn would indeed follow after Serena being surprisingly nimble and dexterous for someone so young and of his size. Came with who he was he supposed. When they compared hand sizes it left a chuckle out of him. It was a bit funny how big his hands were by comparison. When Serena started he just watched at first, before looking at his hands. "..." He pursed his lips. "Okay Serena I have a confession to make. I...I've never done this before. My sisters always did it for me." His cheeks started to turn a light shade of pink out of embarrassment at his unexpected confession.
He would still look at all the colors and chose an odd color combination of three strands. Purple, Green, and Orange. He then studied Serena for a long moment before he attempted to copy what she did, and...yeah that was a terrible idea he had no idea what he was doing. His large fingers fumbled about and dropped the strands many times. Attempting to tie them together actually succeeded after some difficulty but now what? This was completely foreign to him. It was fun but he could really use some help on it. "Damn...why is this so hard? How are you so good at this Serena?"
