That was the letter Ellie sent two weeks ago to her Grandma and now just this morning her grandma's owl had delivered the package hosting exactly 21 dolls. Well that was more than expected but leave it to my Grandma! That's why they took her so long! Ellie had expected 2 or at the most five! But no three was 21 dolls, each hand crocheted, her grandma had even made one that looked like her! Ellie grabbed this one and put it aside. This one would not dance.Dear Grandma
For school I would like a couple more of the dolls you make. I need to make them dance, so don't worry I won't blow up your creations!
Love, Ellie
Ellie put all 20 Dolls in lines of 5. Perfect now lets cast the charm! And let the dancing commence! Even our of class this one had been hard to get on the first try but Ellie hoped today would be the first time she could get it on the first try. She took out her wand, 25,2 cm walnut wood, unicorn hair and pointed it at the Dolls.
"Tarantallegra!" Ellie said pointing at the dolls and making the wand motion.
It worked! First try! "Aha!" Ellie said out loud then blushing hoping no one heard.
The dolls got up and started dancing! At first the dance seemed a bit chaotic but then two of the dolls, a boy and a girl decided to show the others how to dance together. The dolls got it pretty fast. Ellie had to hand it to them, they were good dancers and quick learners but then again... That's probably just how the spell worked! What the heck! How are the dolls less single than me! Ellie thought this watching a pair dancing and laughed to herself. Of course they were fake but it was still crazy! Ellie decided then Why not have some fun? Ellie told two of the groups to start dancing on tables and doing a Irish jig together. The dolls immediately went and started dancing. Well if no one else is coming... Ellie got up and started dancing with the groups on the floor still doing the partner dance.
After a little bit Ellie got the hang of it! Those dances her mom had taught her when she was young paid off! Laughing, she pretended to grab an imaginary boys shoulders and started dancing. I swear, if someone comes in right now... Ehh actually who cares! Ellie felt free for once! Ever since she had turned 11 life had been so awkward. She had always been well known in her little studies group her mom set up for wizard children but now it seems like the life she knows is slipping away. But let's move on! The past is in the past for a reason; so I no longer think of it! Why was dancing with an imaginary partner so fun!?! So people might say she's too old to have " imaginary friends" or something like that! But whatever! This was actually fun! Now if only we had music... She looked down at the dolls. The dolls were still dancing and the dolls on the table had come down and joined the others. I don't know if dolls have emotion but if it were up to me, I'd say they were having fun!

The afternoon was coming closer, and Aurette was on her way to the Charms classroom to rehearse a tricky incantation or two in preparation for dinner. An odd rhythmic thumping caught her attention as she walked down the corridor. This wasn't the echoes of footsteps running along the coriddors nor the faraway thuds of a Quidditch practice. It felt light, chaotic, and more than a little- happy. The sound seemed to come down from a classroom along the coriddor.
Aurette's eyes immediately located the source, an abandoned classroom. This unusually cheerful tune intrigued her, and a strong dose of curiosity unexpectedly filled her.
What she saw made her green eyes widen with surprise, and a small smile immediately cracked on her face. From what she could see, at least twenty crocheted dolls were dancing an exuberant, if somewhat uncontrolled, partner dance, some even spinning on the tabletops. In the very middle was another first-year Hufflepuff whom Aurette vaguely recognized from the common room, Ellie Randensmith, giggling and doing an imaginary Irish jig with an unseen partner. The sheer joy plastered on Ellie's face was contagious.
Aurette paused for perhaps a second, suppressing a quiet laugh at the sudden sight of two dolls ending with what looked like a surprisingly difficult spin. How could one possibly imagine such an unexpected sight? How wonderful of the girl to engage in such innocent enjoyment! With stern reassurance (by herself), Aurette drew her breath deeply and pushed the door a little farther ajar before letting herself in, shyly chuckling.
"Oh my god," she gasped, her voice soft yet clearly cutting through the rhythmic thumps of the dancing dolls. "That is... incredible, Ellie! Tarantallegra, right? And your first try, too! those dolls are just joining in!'' Grinning broadly, she roamed her gaze over the miniature dance floor. "Do you mind if I...?" She made a vague gesture towards the puppets, then towards a patch of floor, a mischievous gleam dancing in her green eyes as she wondered whether she could somehow invite a couple of the dolls into a waltz.

Charms, one of Rafal's favourite subjects. Hogwarts offers no shortage of fascinating lessons, topics, and they, for the most part, do a tremendous job with the professor hiring process. Sure, some are rather stingy or dull (hem hem, Potions), but the others more than make up for it. Fresnel is every bit as enthralling as the magic she teaches, no surprise that she had seemingly been a snake back in her school days.
The Study Room, one of Rafal's favoured spots. True, it cannot measure up against the library when it comes to the sheer number and variety of books and volumes it houses, but there are other aspects.
The simple fact that the place has such an unappealing name and accompanying reputation for most of the Hogwarts populace makes it so it is almost always far more deserted than the library, and the first year hardly needs distractions during his work time. All the free ink and parchment certainly does not hurt, either.
It just so happens that Rafal is, on this particular Friday evening, on his way to the beloved room once more. Satchel slung over his shoulder, he all but skips the way there. Oh, boy! Homework time! He has to fight to stop a grin from splitting his face - no need to be seen looking like a maniac. But that Charms essay is so calling his name!
So preoccupied is he with his own private thoughts, Rafal almost does not notice the oddly rhythmic thumping sound that seems to come from out of the blue. But it is there, and he stops in his tracks, straining to locate the source. It cannot be the Hogwarts crowds, for their footsteps are sure to be far louder and more chaotic than this. These noises almost seem to have a pattern, as if it is… choreographed?
Curiouser and curiouser! Rafal tiptoes down the corridors, study room all but forgotten and determined to solve this mystery. He finally tracks the commotion to a classroom, and the door is ajar. He enters to be faced with the most peculiar sight.
The foremost thing he notices is that he must not be the first to be rendered inquisitive by the sounds, for there is a girl right there in front of him, who he almost walks straight into. "Oof, sorry!" Rafal says quickly, before squeezing carefully to the side so that he can both get out of the girl's way and look upon the contents of the classroom easier.
And what a sight it is! No less than twenty crocheted dolls are spread throughout the entire room - floor, desks, everywhere. And what is atypical about them, is the fact that they all appear to be dancing in a most animated fashion, lively and filling the place with a buoyant mood. In the centre of the group stands a single girl, caramel-haired and moving along with the dolls.
So buoyant, Rafal cannot help but find himself smiling at the scene, caught up in their jaunty movements. "This is brilliant!" He calls at the dancing girl, claps enthusiastically. "Did you do all this?"

The dolls where dancing, Ellie was dancing, there was peace, there was silence, with just the faint sound of the dolls' feat making their own unique music. Ellie heard something different from the noise of the dolls' feet. Ellie stopped dancing. What was that? Seeing nothing, Ellie returned to the jive she was engaging in, not noticing a girl, standing in the door frame and watching her dance. The dolls stopped with the jive and turned into a move ballet dance, with a partner. Ellie had no partner so, she did moves that matched theirs but in a solo way. Ellie was so engaged with the dance, making sure not to step on a doll and making sure that her movements worked with whatever they were doing bellow her that she didn't even realize when the girl said something.
"Oh my god. That is... incredible, Ellie! Tarantallegra, right? And your first try, too! Those dolls are just joining in!" The girl standing in the door frame said this, but Ellie didn't hear, when she started dancing, she got so engaged that it took a lot to break her concentration. It was not that Ellie was being rude and ignoring the girl she just flat out didn't hear her! And no, Ellie was not deaf she had perfectly good ears (Ehm, for listening to her parents conversations Ehm).
Ellie kept dancing. The moves were a good way to express your emotions. Another person came to the door and started watching but Ellie once again didn't notice a person watching from the door again, actually, Ellie didn't see anything, her eyes were closed, feeling the rhythm of the dolls feet.
Ellie only looked up when she heard someone clapping, she blushed. He asked her if she did all this and Ellie blushed even more.
”Yeah, I did.” Ellie said. Ellie looked at the doll, who where still danceing.

What talent! Tarantallegra is one of the earliest spells they learned, way back in the school year, and at this point most of the first years are capable of at least casting a basic version of it. But to incorporate the charm in such a complicated and ingenious manner… Rafal has to admit, he is very much impressed.
"That’s brilliant." He ventures further into the room, examining the scene and taking great care not to disturb any part of the Army of Dancing Dolls. This is a far more productive way to grow his database of Charm-related knowledge than merely homework! "How exactly did you manage to cast it on such a large-scale area? Did you make modifications in order to account for the number of dolls? And I noticed their dancing changes from time to time, is that a built-in autopilot feature, or does it require manual change?"
As he prattles on, the Slytherin thoughtfully takes note on the finer details of this performance. Rafal is no expert on the more refined art of the movement of body, but it does not take one to see that the little figures are currently deeply engrossed in some sort of partner-dance, all paired up and vibing. Naturally, there is only one reasonable course of action.
Rafal stops in front of the caramel-haired girl, only just noticing the hints of scarlett painting her cheeks. What he is about to do is likely an awful idea, but he is impulsive. He bows down lightly, looks up at her. Smiling playfully, he offers a hand. "May I have this dance?"

Ellie could feel her cheeks flare up, turning bright red. They had seen her dance! Nothingless, dancing with dolls! One of them started talking, the boy Ellie noted, but instead of seeming rude, he seemed...? Surprised? In wonder? Ellie didn't know, but he did seem curious about how she did it.
"Oh, um..." Ellie never really thought about it, she had always been good at charms and loved learning, it came naturally, "I honestly don't know, to answer the first two. Sometimes it's like they follow me and other times, it's like they get bored of the dance and change? Sorry that doesn't make a lot of sense."
Ellie thought about it, how had she done it? Charms always had a drawing towards her, even at a young age and she had seen the Charms professor cast it on a group of skeleton, but she had had more practice then Ellie. Of course Tarantallegra was Ellie's favorite spell to cast, sh used it in the most random times. Bored in the common room? Tarantallegra. Wanting to have fun? Tarantallegra. She just used it a lot. No reason beside the fact she loved watching them dance and dancing beside them.
"May I have this dance?" he asked, it caught Ellie off guard, she looked at him. He was smiling with a slight bow, and had his hand out. He seemed taller than her by a decent amount. Ellie had always loved dancing, but she had never danced with someone, nothing less, a boy!
Ellie smiled and blushed, again, before saying, "You may?" not quite sure how to respond and tooks his hand.
