Letters Back Home

Dear Mum and Dad,
It’s been a week, I'm missing you guys already! And Hogwarts is definitely ...something, in a good way, of course.
I got sorted in Hufflepuff, which is great, though it wouldn't hurt to be a ravenclaw. Everyone's really nice, and the common room is so cozy. It’s nice to have a comfy spot to hang out with your friends after a long day.
Classes are as fun as I expected. Charms is just ...amazing—so focused and full of magic! I’m working hard on getting those wand movements right. I’m also enjoying History of Magic with Professor Lennox; she explains things really well. Herbology is calm, which I like.
The castle is huge! I checked out the Black Lake yesterday, and it’s even prettier than I thought. The Great Hall's lively at meal times, full of noise and magic, but I found a nice spot at the table where I can just watch everything happening around me.
It’s all new, but I’m doing my best to soak it all in, just like we talked about. I haven’t gotten lost too badly yet, so I think that’s a win for my first week!
Thinking of you all and hoping everything’s good back home. Give Aster a big hug for me, and tell him to keep up the awesome plant work.
Love,

Dearest Aurette,
It was so great to get your letter! We were really excited to hear all about your first week at Hogwarts. It sounds like you’re having an amazing time, and we’re so proud of how well you’re fitting in.
Hufflepuff seems like just the right place for you. We always thought you’d love a house full of friendly folks. It’s nice to picture you in that cozy common room.
We’re not surprised that Charms is already your favorite class! You’ve always shown such a keen interest when your father and I use magic at home, so we knew you’d do well. Keep practicing those wand movements – we know you’ll have everything flying in no time. And don’t sweat about in Potions; just stay focused on the instructions, and you’ll do great. We're also glad to hear you’re enjoying Professor Lennox in History of Magic too!
The Great Hall sounds just as amazing as we remember. It’s nice to think of you making new friends there. Oh, and yes, the food is legendary!
Aster was so excited when we told him you wrote. He wanted to know if you’ve seen any cool magical creatures yet, and he wanted me to mention that his Moonpetal sprout is doing really well, thanks to his watering. He misses you, but he's already planning all the things he wants to show you when you come home for the holidays.
We miss you a lot, but knowing you're happy and learning so much at Hogwarts makes us so proud. Keep writing when you can, and enjoy every moment!
Love you lots,
Mum and Dad

Dearest Retty,
I really can't believe it’s already been ten days since you left for Hogwarts! It feels so quiet here without you. Mum and Dad keep saying how proud they are, but I already miss our late-night talks, our whispers during breakfast, oh I hope you're doing well!
How’s it going? Are the greenhouses as amazing as I imagined? I bet they’re even better than the ones at hope. Have you seen any interesting plants yet? Have you planted one? I’m currently working on a new hybrid—a Moonpetal crossed with a Flutterby Bush. I think it’s going to be pretty spectacular.
Mum says you’re doing great in your classes, especially Charms. I’m not surprised! I always knew you had a talent for making things work. I’ve been keeping your room tidy (mostly) and even watered your little cactus. Remember to write back when you can. Tell me all about your adventures, and don’t forget to mention any strange or cool plants you come across, maybe I'll even find one in mum's garden!
Missing you,
Aster
P.S. Mum says she’s proud of you, and Dad says to stay out of trouble (which I know you will).
