The Moon Haunts Me
It was almost time for another transformation, Kyle could feel it in his blood. His body ached and and every heartbeat seemed to pump sludge through his veins, his mouth was almost perpetually dry and sticky, his skin was pale and clammy, and all of his senses seemed to be cranked up to 11 so every bright light or loud noise was pain. Kyle knew he was going to need to stay away From Santario for the next couple of days, she didn't need to see him like this. The last thing he wanted to do was say or do something that would make her hate him. Then again maybe that would be for the best, after all who would want to be friends with a Monster if they knew the truth about him?November 10th / 1AM

Kyle rubbed his face in frustration trying to get out of his own head. As he lay in the darkness of his Dorm all he could hear was the sound of the wind rustling by the window, the breathing of people in the room, scratching, sighing, lips smacking, coughing, muttering, rustling of sheets. Each passing second felt like nails on the chalkboard that was his mind. The walls seemed to close in more and more, the blanket ontop of him becoming restraints to hold him down, his breathing growing more erratic as he began to panic slightly. He needed to get out of here, he needed air, he needed to be out in the open before he lost it entirely.
Kyle slipped out of the bed wearing green plaid pajama pants and a black "Nightwish" t-shirt. HE quickly and quietly slips on his leather jacket and he picks up his boots and sneaks his way downstairs towards the portrait of the fat lady, then he exits the commonroom. Once outside the Gryffindor room he slips on his boots and makes sure to keep low and stick to the shadows as he makes his way down the hall and the stairs as he makes his way towards the entrance to the castle. Kyle lurks in the shadows for about 5 minutes by the front entrance before he is content noone is around and he opens the door just enough to squeeze out and he shuts it behind him.
As Kyle walks towards the Great Lake Kyle's eyes are drawn upwards and he sees the large almost full moon hanging in the sky, taunting him. Kyle scowled at the giant glowing orb, how he hated the moon. There were many people who saw it as romantic or calming but to him? The moon was just a cruel reminder of the curse that coursed through him. If he never saw the moon again it would be too soon.
With a heavy Sigh Kyle finally came to the shore of the great lake and he took a deep breath at the gentle sounds of the water being pushed with the winds. Something about the lake had always been a calming presence to him, maybe that was why now he found himself drawn to it.

The Moon Haunts Me
Kaegen was out walking, looking down on his feet, at the little shadows that twisted and curled and would about. Tendrils of some beast he couldn't seem to lay eyes on. It worried him, that no one else seemed to do what he did. No one else looked like he did. Everyone had pink skin, and rosy cheeks. Quiet shadows and bright eyes. The only thing bright about Kaegen's eyes were the two rings of red that made his pupils look like twin eclipses on a cloudy day. Everything about him was dull and lifeless.
Not even his black robe was bright and sleek, the darkness was faded, leaving a black that looked old, weary and frayed. His skin was beyond pale, it was a sickly shade of grey that didn't belong on someone still drawing breath. His eyes were ringed in shadows so thick they looked as though he had gotten punched several times, and just happened to not have had any swelling. His long, spidery fingers clawed at the edges of his robe, pulling it closer. He was cold, but he didn't know where his coat was. And his scarf...
Kaegen shook his wild black hair from side to side, trying to clear out the memory of that event. He didn't need to be thinking about that. He still had the umbrella strapped to his back, didn't he? What more did one need, aside from an assortment of little projects hidden away under his robe, of course. Sticks and rocks and slingshots, books and ink and quill were all carried with the boy wherever he went. He didn't trust the dormitory to keep his things safe. If he could get in, then so could anyone else.
It was only then, after a good while of him just wandering about, did he notice the other boy, the one down by the lake. That was odd, to say the least. Usually when Kaegen saw people out this late, they were together, maybe in a bush, sharing a piece of candy by trying to swap it rapidly from one mouth to the next. Kaegen didn't understand what that was about, he would have just cut the candy in half and shared.
He found himself slowly approaching the boy, walking in a wide arc to the side, curiosity and thought dampening his aura of fear. No, he was here to discover why a boy would be sitting all alone, and not with the flow, with friends and homework and a happy smile on his face. It didn't take long before he could see the clammy sweat, the pale and sickly skin. It wasn't as bad as his own, but it was bad. Was the boy dying, then?
He kept his distance, about two or three yards, as he tried to initiate conversation. If it was poison he would want to know what kind, so he could avoid the same fate as the boy before him.
"Hello. Are you dying?"

The Moon Haunts Me
Kyle stood there in silence for some time, just staring at the moon. His mind drifted to the night the werewolf attacked, hurting his mother and nearly killing him. The following month when he had his first painful transformation, the vivid memories of thrashing around the shed howling and clawing everything he could reach. Then his first transformation at school under the effects of wolfs bane potion and when he unconsciously dug his claws across his face and gave himself the very noticeable scar he now carried on his left cheek. And every transformation since then where he locked himself in the basement away and secluded, Every transformation being a rough one. Every time he turned it was the worst pain he could imagine as he fought as hard as he could to resist the effects of the curse always to no avail, The bestial side of him so fought and resisted even under the effects of the potion he still felt as if he was burning with rage and a desire to break or attack things and it took all of his willpower to keep the long detained beast completely locked away and unable to near the surface. For the last two years there was never been a positive memory or emotion tied to the full moon. And now the moon hung high above him, tauntingly close to being full. Mocking him.
"Hello. Are you dying?"
A voice suddenly pulled Kyle out of his thoughts and he turned to see another student, something was not expecting to happen. At first he thought it might be a prefect there to bust him, but they didn't seem to care that he was out so much as if there was something wrong with him. Kyle's hands balled into fists and his first instinct was to tell the other boy to piss off and mind his own business. But thanks to his increased vision and the light of the moon Kyle could tell there was something not right about the boy at all, his skin was a sickly pallor, worse than Kyle's own even now at the eve of the full moon. What stood out even more than the complexion though was the smell of the boy. There was something...off about them. He couldn't put his finger on it but it almost reminded him of death, a smell he wished he wasn't familiar with.
Kyle did not know who or what this student was, but they weren't human. Atleast not completely. That much he was absolutely sure of. This made Kyle even more on edge, because if he could tell this other boy wasn't human...could they tell that he was as well? That worried him, He worked very hard to keep the truth about what he was a secret.
Moving very slightly Kyle would brace himself incase he needed to suddenly make a break for it, or lunge towards the stranger infront of him, depending on what the situation unfolding actually was. His eyes narrowed and Kyle shook his head "No, im not dying...I just...I dont feel well alright? What's it to you anyway?

The Moon Haunts Me

"You stink of clammy sweat and monsters. Your heartbeat is irregular, it's off. You're dying."
Kaegen tilted his head to the side a little, as if to view the boy he was now convinced was dying in a different light. That unsettling feeling was the smell, right? Kaegen wasn't sure, but there was something. The two had senses that were much more in tune than most, for one, the cause was a curse. For the other, the cause was his own blood, a curse of sorts, but much less painful. Kaegen wasn't sure why the smell reminded him of a monster, of something that wasn't human. But it did, and whatever this boy was, he was about to die. So what was the harm in watching it happen?
Kaegen took another step backwards, just to be safe, and squatted down by the edge of the water, studying the other boy. Yes, something was off. It only took the ravenclaw another second to determine what it was. He had read the books, studied the signs. Yes, this boy had been poisoned. That was why he was dying, it was poison. He had already been suspecting it, but this sealed the deal. The slow passing, the sickly skin. It was poison, or perhaps a curse.
"Do you actually think you're going to be fine, or are you trying to make me think that you're too strong to be easy prey."
One of the ravenclaw's hands slowly slipped up to his neck, to quietly scratch at the scars there. He wasn't much worried, he had seen death before. But it was still interesting to see this sort of a death. Curse, or poison. He mentally had his bets on poison, but curse was a close second. Not much of a contest, but it was still close.
"I won't be a threat to you. If death comes soon, it won't be by my hand.
He paused for a second before continuing
"I wish you could come back, and tell me what you see there. If you even exist, or if you just vanish. If we are a drop of water, or a lit match."
