Another round came and more spells flew, with the spells this round came the first successful attack against the Gryffindors. Theo, who got targeted this round, perhaps due to all his teammates dodging the spells against them before. Whatever reason it was that prompted this choice, it worked. The knock back jinx cast by Matthew, who finally recovered from the stillness in the last round that might have been caused by shock or some other factor, successfully hit its target. It did not backfire and Theo couldn't dodge quick enough, Theo tried casting a knock back jinx of his own against Matthew, but it would not see the same success. At least it didn't backfire but it did miss Matthew by quite a long shot, which was the same fate given to the other two duellists of Gryffindor.
All of them had decided to cast the knock back jinx, Aston had no idea how long they had been duelling together but he wouldn't be surprised if it were some strategy they developed from frequently duelling together. Well the second year's spells were no match to the older boy, who had dodged both Sere and Siobhan's spells with ease. Perhaps it was the two spells aimed at him or perhaps it were the flames from the last round still hurting him, only just fading away, Draven didn't return a spell of his own. And lastly Pyxis, the only one here choosing to cast a different spell, the Disarming charm aimed at Theo didn't quite hit, with Theo dodging out of the way just in time.

Slytherin vs Gryffindor: Match 5
Siobhan held her breath as the spell fired towards Draven but it seemed that her cast was just off as it didn't hit the flaming third year. But then Sere's didn't hit either and Theo was suddenly whacked by Matthew's own spell and knocked back slightly. She thought it both odd and kind that Matthew was taking what she assumed was pity on her but she didn't want him to think that she was a weak opponent. She could still duel- just... maybe not as accurately.
At least they seemed to be doing better than the Slytherin team in general. Pyxis hadn't had a good hit and Draven seemed too distracted by the fire still affecting him. It helped a little to know that objectively they were doing better. They just needed to keep up with their focus.

Sere scrunched her nose and hissed as she saw her Knockback Jinx missed the target. Meanwhile on the other side, she found the Viper's first succeed spell went to Theo as the target. "Let me guess... That tickles?" Sere raised an eyebrow, guessing what the ash-haired boy would say.

Slytherin vs Gryffindor: Match 5

His break in momentum had done exactly what it had needed to and now his spells were taking aim and finding their target. The little subtle clues vipers had taught between themselves to pinpoint a target had been clear to him and he flipped his wand on Theo in unison with his snake brothers. Though while Pyxis would attempt to fire too Draven much like him was stood deathly still.
Had the barrage of flame overtaken his senses? It wouldn't be the first time he had seen the elder snake fall in duelling but he hoped that it has been the last. Regardless, luck had chosen to bless them and even if it was merely for one turn Matthew felt hopeful to have done something right for once. To not feel left out and useless. It was a small victory but a victory none the less and if he fell now it would be in warmer spirits.

Draven stumbled back, dazed as spells slammed into him. The room spun, smoke from his flaming clothes pushing it's way up his nose and forcing itself down his lungs. Draven's eyes burned, his gait was unsteady.
It took a moment to find himself. Another to remember he was in fact in the middle of a duel. And yet another to realize he'd been stumbling around, aflame, with his wand down. He needed to snap out of it, and FAST.

With a pained yelp, Theo almost lost his footing and saved himself from falling backwards. He looked winded and shocked that something had hit him. He wiped the sweat from his brow and gritted his teeth. Now it was time to get serious, but the young boy had lost his temper and directed his anger at his own team. "Tickles?! No, it bloody well hurt! Give em' what for." He shouted back towards Sere and then raised his own wand with determination.

Pyxis cursed as his disarming attempt failed. There was little consolation in watching Draven and Matthew effortlessly avoid what the lions slung at them. Even if Matthew's jinx had hit and the fire on Draven was gone, the Slytherins were clearly in an inferior position. Both his teammates were drifting in and out of the present moment and he wondered exactly what had them standing still. Whatever it was, they both looked to be in their right minds for now, so Pyxis hoped they could begin some kind of comeback.

Aston doesn't like to think that a certain team is going to win before the result actually happens, but by all means this will be a hard one for the Slytherin team to come back from. The knockback jinx proves to be an incredibly popular spell, with four different people firing it off. Unfortunately for the Slytherins all the ones that would hit were the ones fired by the Gryffindors. Theo targeted Matthew again, just like last time, but unlike last time this knockback jinx actually hits its target, pushing Matthew back several feet. Gryffindor stuck with their strategy of targeting Draven, deciding he was the most dangerous person that they have to knock out first. With Sere and Siobhan's two jinxes aimed at him Draven certainly tried to dodge it, but it wasn't enough. Sere's spell hit him head on and despite Siobhan's getting a worse result it still inevitably hit him.
It sent Draven unconscious, but before he fully went out he tried to cast a spell, but it would only back fire, the Wizard Crackers Draven conjured would only fire near himself and add to the damage, hitting Pyxis as well in the process. "Stop!" Aston said, heading to the middle of the piste as Draven finally fell, making sure he could be taken off the piste and sent to the infirmary, also giving the others a chance to breathe. "Okay, you all ready to continue?" Once he received confirmation that everyone was ready Aston would announce that signal for everyone to keep going. "Resume!"

Slytherin vs Gryffindor: Match 5
Made by Raizel Voltrouz
Date : May 3rd, 2025 Color code : Written|Thought|Said "Alright, alright, chill..." Not the usual response from Sere Nade. The British-Korean girl would immediately apologize if she made someone shouted at her, but this one was different. She knew that Theo had a temper, so she didn't take it very serious. She tilted her head, I remembered hearing him say that those triple Flipendos hit him in previous duel was just a tickle. It's hurt now? Sere shrugged, nevermind. The most important things now were the three-- oh no, two-- two spells that were thrown at her. She dodged as fast as she could and managed to evade both.
"Flipendo!" She returned it by casting the same Knockback Jinx, targeting the Viper who had Spell Spread ability. It was successful and the duellist went unconscious. She winced in pain when she realized that Siobhan's spell and the backfire of Draven's own spell also struck him pretty bad. Okay, ignore this uncomfortable feeling and stay focused, Sere. The moderator gave a signal to resume the match and she already had her next action selection in her mind.WC : 177/50

Slytherin vs Gryffindor: Match 5
This had to be some kind of joke or cosmic karmic reaction. Everything about this duel from the second it had started to now had favoured the lions over snakes. While Matthew typically would favour such odds himself this was getting ridiculous. The vipers had done almost as much damage to themselves as they had been dealt and such machinations were not even close to being fair. Flashbacks of the last duel staggered him in his place threatening to knock him off kilter again so much he would stall but the deafening thud of Mirador, so familiar and upsetting, rang in his head pushing him forward. He would survive this, he had to right?
