Dark Places
Everything was happening so fast.
She was still on the ground, her world was spinning. Rosie was barely tuning in time for Eris' little speech. She wanted to think her friends would help her as she hit the ground hard, but they didn't move. Rosie squinted through watery eyes, seeing Eris' expression of distaste. For once, Eris was looking down at her. But that was just because Eris was short. But then she began talking. The Ben situation was brought up, but the sentence that stuck out the most hit her hard. You deserve to be hurt. It made her heart twist. She didn't deserve to be hurt, did she? She wasn't a bad person. She wasn't. She tried her best to do good. She had nothing to say by the time Eris was done ranting.
Rosie didn't even see Maggie run back up, and if she wasn't in her own world at that point, maybe the appreciation would've been shown better. Carson was still there too, but now they were both getting attacked. It was too much, her brain couldn't handle it. Her chest felt tight, and her throat felt dry. She was scared, really scared this time. But she really felt like shit this time. It hurt to hear Eris, it hurt to be beaten up, and it hurt to watch the people around her be attacked.
She tried pushing herself up slightly, but the moves Erin had used were fatally placed, as her energy was basically ran out. Rosie leaned up on her wobbling arms, looking up at Eris just in time for Erin to ask her to finish the job. Here it was. There was no way Eris would say no. Why would she? There were a lot of thoughts running through her head, and she had half a mind to scream at Eris. Scream at her about how she was wrong, about how everything Eris had just said was bullshit. But sadly, her brain was spinning, maybe Rosie would've been a little angry if not. Instead, Rosie finally got onto her feet and put her hand on her wand, looking back at Eris. There was no way she was letting someone else get hurt. Not anymore. She had some strength left, and if it was going to be used against Eris, for Maggie, then that's what had to be done.
Without a word, she took her wand out and pointed it at Eris, prepared to fight back as best as she could if Eris decided to do something. She was very tempted to just run up and throw a punch, she doubt Eris knew at all how to fight without a wand since she grew up with magic. But she was probably wrong, it was her angry brain thinking. This whole situation was nuts, but now all she was focused on was defending herself.
It was strange to think that just days ago, her and Max were walking to the nurse together. She thought they could've been friends this year. Eris, too. But maybe things just didn't work out.
They never seemed to for Rosie.

@Eris Fawley...? @Max Avery?
Just a trick of the lighting they said...

Dark Places
Eris appeared to have completely lost it, Max noted as he kept his wand at the ready after sending Carson back a few steps. He couldn't remember seeing her this angry before but when he heard the words she was saying he managed to piece together one thing; she'd been carrying this for a while. It was like this whole thing was an excuse for her to say something she'd wanted to for a while, and it was with a grim outlook that he turned his attention back to Carson. He hoped she wouldn't go too far because he knew his friend was a fundamentally good person and her words might cause her guilt later.
There was no time to consider more, however, before Carson sent a stream of smoke into the room that obscured everyone's vision. Max was more or less literally left in the dark and he let out a rough Brummie expletive before tucking his wand away. There was no point in attempting to throw spells around in a situation like this because it was impossible to know who you'd hit. Instead, he'd have to rely on his sense of hearing and touch - disappointing, since he wasn't overly strong and likely average when it came to speed.
The situation was getting chaotic, however it could be broken down in such a way that the 'bully' team still had an advantage with numbers. Rosie was pretty much a non-issue at this point, and Eris and Erin shouldn't have a problem handling Maggie between the two of them. If Carson got involved with the trio and managed to take one of the purebloods out, though...
Mentally sighing to himself since he could see no other way, he picked a spot between the girls and Carson and ran towards it, figuring the Hufflepuff boy would move to help his friend and probably not be in the same place he'd been standing previously. Max didn't have much hope that he'd win a brawl, but a sneak attack would be advantageous to knock someone off balance. Resisting the urge to let out yell to hype himself up (couldn't give away his position), he tackled the first silhouette he saw out of the smoke in the hopes that it was Carson going to help Maggie. If his weight didn't manage to carry them to the ground, it would at least knock them off course.Reducio
the dice hates meUnfortunately for him, the static silhouette he'd tackled was a suit of armour. Rather than valiantly tackling someone to help his teammates, he'd managed to knock over and get tangled up with what felt like a tonne of iron. Pieces scattered everywhere, loudly echoing down the corridors. Hopefully, if anything, one of them would manage to trip an enemy.
