Moonpetal...
The Hogwarts Library, with its imposing bookshelves facing the arched ceiling and the soft light of enchanted lamps, was revered. All hands. It had a heavy dust of the familiar smell of old parchment and leather-bound books, the quiet testimony of centuries worth of knowledge and stories that would never be told again.
High, leaded glass windows let sunlight flood in, casting long shadows over the polished wooden floors and lighting up dancing motes in the golden light.
In a more tranquil area near the Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures rows, Aurette rested at secluded solid oak table. The dining experience was enjoyable. Other students were just as attentive to their reading as she was, with their heads dangling over open textbooks, the only sounds heard being an occasional page-turn or whispered word.
Stack of books in front her but she was not reading from any of them at the time. She was reading a fascinating book called The Secret Language of Magical Plants instead. The lamp's light gently illuminated the silver leaf designs on its cover.
The old spine was gently stroked by her, leaving a sense of wonder. It was an old book, as if from the roots of magic. When she opened, she gazed into the elegant text and minute sketches of magical creatures. Her eyes were drawn in unison.
One of the passages she encountered had a remarkable significance for her, as it recounted the Moonpetal, renowned for its healing properties and ability to bloom exclusively during full moon conditions. In the moonlight, the drawing depicted delicate, silvery petals jutting out with a faint glow that exuded an exotic aura.
Aurette was spotted by the Hogwarts grounds in the early evening, and it was evident that the flower had a lovely scent and its petals were shining with gleaming light. What kind of magic would it have? Which illness has the potential to heal it?
Ideas arose in her mind, suggesting locations where they might be concealed.
She closed the book for a moment, her eyes fixed on the other shelves filled with thousands of books. Each one, she understood, held a unique source of knowledge, containing stories and secrets to uncover.
It was as if the library were an immense, still space where all ears could hear the voices of time and the wisdom of centuries.
The library was a place where Aurette sought solace and encouragement from its peaceful atmosphere. In that place, she could indulge her own natural curiosity and become immersed in the magic of the magical world, exploring the nuances surrounding all living beings. Amidst the silent whispers of parchment and ink, she felt a profound sense of homeliness and the vast possibilities that lie ahead.

She briskly entered the library. I really need to research for my homework!Even though as a New Year’s resolution, she would not procrastinate in homework, she had promptly broke it and now she really had to study since there were more subjects than she would’ve really liked. Mum would not be happy!
She finally got to the DADA bookshelf, and started to look at them. She needed stuff about defensive charms and stuff like that. At last, she found a worthy book. “The Incomplete History of Charms.” Well, it must be promising! Ruby took it off the shelf and opened it. It had a lot of pages, about… eight hundred. What?! Absolutely no way. But again, she had read a book that was 870 pages. It’s not like she couldn’t just speed-read this. Ruby absentmindedly sat on a table that held… Aurette Clarke. The Hufflepuff. The rather short girl. Her hair’s pretty.
She didn’t want to startle her, and she was so focused on her reading, so Ruby said nothing. She got out her journal.
“4 September 2025
Aurette is sitting beside me. I really don’t know what to do! Should I talk to her? Or should I stay silent and solemn? But, um, talking is really what I wanna do. Maybe should I talk? Okay.”
Now or never. She might even leave now. Hi!

Interacting with @Ruby Diumme
Hi!
Aurette jumped slightly at the sudden voice, almost dropping the cover of 'The Secret Language of Magical Plants,' which is splendidly silver embossed. She shot her head up, long black hair swinging with the abrupt motion. Bright green eyes, wide open and surprised, would meet those of another student seated next to her. She recognized her - Ruby, a first-year Ravenclaw she had seen around the Great Hall, and possibly in a few shared classes.
Aurette felt the flush of the familiar heat creeping back into her cheeks and blinked in shyness. Then she carefully closed the book, placing a finger on the page that illustrated the delicate, luminous outline of the Moonpetal, known for its good healing powers and the fact that it opened only under conditions of full moon light.
"Oh! Hi," Aurette said, softly murmuring, still somewhat surprised, but soon gentling herself to normal again. Her eyes flickered at the sheer size of Ruby's 'The Incomplete History of Charms,' a trace of wonder showing in her curiosity. "That looks... like a very interesting book," she bravely added, trying to sound as composed as possible after being caught off-guard. She spotted the little journal opened between them, a small collection of side-scribbles.
