Olivia had always loved the night sky. Maybe because she automatically looked at it as soon as she was outside or because her mother had always told her stories about the night sky when Olivia was little.
She had taken Olivia in her arms when she was outside. Every story had started with Olivia's mother pointing to a star and asking: "Do you know what's special about that particular star?" Olivia had always answered: "No, what's special about that particular star?" Then Olivia's mother had told a story about what was so special about that particular star.
But now she was gone. Olivia thought about it almost all the time. Sometimes she found herself fantasizing about what it would be like if she were still alive. Olivia still hadn't heard a word from her father since that Christmas when she received a simple: "Merry Christmas Olivia," with the presents. Olivia's birthday was coming up soon, but she wasn't expecting a celebration. No one really knew she existed.
Olivia sat leaning against a tree and tried to concentrate on her homework but it was almost impossible. Her gaze drifted up towards the astronomy tower. She knew that you weren't allowed to be there outside of class time, but once is never once.
Olivia got the door open and started moving up the tower. When she got up, she was careful to put something in the way so that the door wouldn't close completely, because then she would be stuck.
Olivia sat down and tried again with her homework but it didn't work. So instead she pulled out a blank parchment and started drawing. But she couldn't think of anything interesting enough to draw, so instead she opened today's edition of The Daily Prophet and started reading.
Suddenly she heard footsteps and saw someone appear in the doorway. Olivia looked up just in time to see a Slytherin boy about her age accidentally kick away the one she had put so that the door wouldn't close.
"No!" Olivia shouted but she wasn't even halfway out when the door slammed shut. Olivia felt for the door handle. The door wouldn't open. It was stuck.
Olivia turned to the guy. "Hello," she said a little cautiously. She examined him, rather... charmingly. Olivia shifted her weight from one foot to the other. "Don't get mad, but it looks like we're stuck here," Olivia said then, blushing a little. She glanced at the guy, waiting for his reaction.

Why does this always happen to me?!
February 2025 | Evening? Astronomy Tower
There was nothing more frustrating than forgetfulness. It ruined everything – entire schedules thrown into disarray. Days forced to be rearranged. Any perceived control lost. Simply infuriating, and when it happened to Conrad, oh, he hated himself for it. He was meant to be almost perfect, flawless in his actions or appear so. The details didn't matter; appearances did. 'Forget, but don't let it make you seem like a fool' – what his father had always told him. It was a weakness, one Conrad had spent tiring months trying to eradicate. He had a strict routine down to the minutes of the day, schedules, plans – everything laid out in advance. Contingencies for when the unexpected would happen as expected. Organised and flawless to the spying eye.
Obviously, he wasn't. Nothing could change the fact he was still just a twelve-year-old child. No matter how smart, or ambitious, or cunning – still just a boy. A boy who presented himself with immaculate grace. Conrad never raised his voice; he never gave away more emotion than he needed to, and he most certainly never left the dorms looking anything worse than immaculate.
His little foray to the astronomy tower turned out no different. Hair done, his Slytherin uniform freshly pressed and pristine, because, of course, he had forgotten something very important. The entire point of his tirade was that he forgot something, and as one could guess, he hated himself for it – his astronomy homework. Carelessly abandoned on the desk during class earlier in the week. Whether it would still be there was anyone's guess, but he had to look. Missing homework was completely out of the question. Inconceivable. Plus, it wouldn't be sneaking, per se, with curfew still an hour or so away.
The only issue he had – apart from the glaring disappointment he bashed himself with – was the insufferably long trek from down the dungeons all the way to the top of the towers. He could've done without that, quite frankly. And it wasn't as if things got better once there.
Now, could he have predicted that someone, another student no less, was hiding away in the astronomy tower? No. Could he have guessed that she propped the door open so it wouldn't lock behind her? Absolutely not. Why would it do that in the first place...? But lastly, was he at fault for kicking said thing across the room as he entered? Most certainly not. Imagine his shock and horror upon being greeted with a sudden yelp and assurances that they were now both stuck in a room neither of them was meant to be inside in the first place. With curfew approaching, no less, all because he forgot.
Conrad glanced at the girl, confusion echoing in his bright blue eyes. "Hi?" He greeted her, almost as if questioning her alarm and presence. Slowing down but staying on course to his target. The purpose of his evening detour in the first place – that pesky homework, scribbled on a piece of parchment in cursive. Conrad found no purchase, not yet anyway. It could've been moved somewhere else in the classroom, somewhere safer than out in the open on top of his usual desk.
But then she uttered those words he'd soon learn to dread – 'stuck here' – and that was finally enough to fully whip his attention to the girl. He noticed her shuffling and the light blush that danced across her cheeks but didn't think much of it. "You're not serious." His features reflected the doubt in his words. Expression: flat and sceptical. Voice: soft but sure as always. Unconvinced. It didn't make sense for the door to just magically get stuck anyway.
OOC: Did you mean to put 8 pm instead of 8 am in your ooc notes?

Olivia shifted her weight from one foot to the other. When he said, "You're not serious," Olivia blushed even more and looked down at the ground. She kept her eyes fixed on her shoes as she replied, "Unfortunately, I am."
She dragged her feet with her gaze and walked over to the door. First she tried to open it by pulling the handle, it didn't work. Then she threw Alohomora at the door with her wand, that didn't work either. Then she threw herself hard at the door, that didn't work either.
"We're really stuck," Olivia said, looking at him warily. Then she straightened her shirt and picked up her copy of The Daily Prophet from the floor. "We're probably going to be stuck here for a while," Olivia said, sitting down at one of the tables. She opened her newspaper and then glanced at the guy. "Unless you have a better idea of how to get out?" Olivia said. Then she fixed her gaze on the newspaper. There was an article about some incident in the south of England. She immediately thought it would be uninteresting but read it anyway.
She felt his gaze on her and only managed to read a few sentences before she put the newspaper down with a sigh. "Olivia," she said. When he looked questioning, she added, "My name is Olivia Williams, and you?"
Olivia thought that if they were going to be stuck here for a while, they could at least talk. Even though Olivia wasn't the most open person, you could still be polite. But it looked like the guy in front of her was her complete opposite. His uniform was neatly ironed and his hair was done. Olivia, on the other hand, was wearing a selection of rather worn-out clothes and her hair was wild and loose as always. She waited for his answer.
