Closed PV Andy Loggins Mixed blessings? Pt.2

“You do know that Ravenclaw’s animal is an eagle, right?” Gem asked, smirking. “But ravens are cool, too. I’m not a Slytherin, but I like snakes.”

He watched Andy as he explored the Hospital Wing, nodding as he listened to the Ravenclaw talk.

“Yeah, potions is great. I don’t quite like the dungeons, though,” he shuddered a little. “Unfortunately, as a Hufflepuff my dorms and common room are in the cellars, which are a little too similar for my taste.”

He thought for a moment, before answering his question.

“Like I said, I enjoy potions, but charms is all right, too. Maybe DADA, or herbology. Now that you’ve given me a recommendation, I might try flying, too!” Gem added, smiling at Andy.

“So, since you’re a senior, is there anything I should know about?” he asked, a little playfully.

“I mean, obviously not cheating methods. More like… topics? Are any of the teachers different? That sort of thing.” he elaborated.

“If I needed cheating tactics, I’d bet I could make a few functional ones if my own.”

Hope that worked. Best to fit in with the others, keep in time and don’t fall out of step. Perhaps we could be called friends. Technically.

When the boy corrected Andy, the boy felt a little confused. Was the Ravenclaw animal really a eagle this whole time? What is the point of calling a house Ravenclaw if it has nothing to do with Ravens? Then, Gem asked Andy about stuff he should know. Well... technically I am not a senior yet. I am only a second year, meaning almost nothing changes in the next school year for you. But for me, I am going to be a third year, and know I can actually enter Hogsmeade legally... Don't ask. And also, I will be able to chose 2 new subjects to add onto my schedule. The boy said, regretting that he blurted out that he entered Hogsmeade illegally a couple times by using a fake permission slip. Tactics, on the other hand, I can tell you a little about. First and foremost, just listen to your professor's lecture and ask questions if needed. That is what a professor is for. Second of all, try asking classmates for help or take out a little chunk of your time to study a little in the study room. I, as a Ravenclaw go to the study room always daily. That should be enough info to help the boy out on his Hogwarts journey... hopefully.
