Afternoon Slot

Alyssea was very tempted to just get the frozen Yougle, take them by the shoulders, and direct them off the piste. While Gryffindor hadn't been aiming for them at any point, one misfire would be all it took to accidentally hit them. Sure, it would probably be enough to knock them into the game for once, but if it didn't? Alyssea didn't really know what else to do. She hadn't encountered anyone freezing up since the beginning of their match in... well, never, until now.

Crisis aside, Gryffindor were still barrelling through their offenses. It was clear they wanted this done and dusted. They were close to it, too! If only Meiyu had hit Jessamine. For what it's worth, at least that miss kept all active Ravenclaws standing.

And standing they did, even with two Knockback Jinxes fired at Mylo after having gotten back up from an earlier spell. Mylo and Jessamine were definitely looking rough, but they were pushing through.

"Ravenclaw is still standing! I think that deserves a round of applause." Alyssea clapped. "You guys really do have some thick skin."

Did it have something to do with Ravenclaw's commons being at one of the highest points of the school? But that would include Gryffindor, too, since they also had their own tower. It was only Slytherin and Hufflepuff that had the school's basements. Something they ate? No, that wouldn't make sense either, since everyone ate the same things at the Great Hall every day. Just what...?

Ula took the Knockback Jinx square in the ribs, her mary-janes skidding across the piste as she got shoved back a pace or two. The hit sucked the air from her lungs, but the second she caught it again, she exhaled with a breathy laugh because she'd seen him—the Ravenclaw Rat—get absolutely leveled at the same time. Not just by her, but by the guy on her team (whom she still didn't know the name of) too. A double hit that made Ula's teeth flash.

She straightened with a slow, satisfied roll of her shoulders, her lip curling into a pleased smirk. He wasn't down yet—but he they would be soon.

Then she heard it. From the stands.

"QUEENIE... PRETEND THEY SMUDGED YOUR LIPSTICK, OR SOMETHING!"

Ula's left eye twitched before it zeroed on a fly zipping past her that, for some reason, reminded her of him. Pipsqueak.

She didn't turn her head—but her fingers flexed slightly around her wand, as if weighing the legality of a stray hex flying into the crowd, at the annoying, freckled idiot. She was going to connect the dots after this.

"Why is he allowed to speak?" she muttered to herself, dry as the Sahara desert.

Still—wand up, hair perfect, murder intended—it was time to finish this.

They were still standing, although Mylo knew that probably wouldn't last long. Both of the spells that had been aimed at him had hit, and although Jess's spell had connected she didn't seem fazed by it in the slightest. In fact she seemed to smile.

He knew they likely wouldn't last much longer, but he wasn't planning on giving up yet. As the longer he stayed upright the more practice they could get in, the more they got hit the more resilient they would be in the future, the more spells they fired the more powerful they would get and the more they dodged the amount of times they'd get hit would dwindle.

So Maisie's words to not give up had already been in their mind long before she shouted them at his team. Shooting the Gryffindor team a smile he got ready, after all this was just a game.

It became a consistent theme for Meiyu to gradually begin missing her targets, though, this time, her chosen target managed to dodge her attack and fortunately she'd been left unscathed. To her own demise, the longer the match went on, particularly with one raven stood on the piste, frozen for three rounds.

Rolling her eyes at the particular raven who threw nothing in their direction, Meiyu toyed with the wand, swiftly moving them between her fingers until she heard a familiar voice in the crowd. Craning her neck to find Aodhan, she scowled at him, given he'd already forgotten her name — turning back to face the opponents, she readied her wand once more.

The Ravenclaws were annoyingly resilient, still managing to stay on their feet despite their continued assault. One had even managed to launch a spell a spell back in their direction, though Edwin made no effort to who it had struck, simply glad that it had not been him.

After a moments pause, he regathered his thoughts and focus to the two standing Ravenclaws, long since having disregarded the third as a participant in the duel.

Once more, he tightened his grasp on his wand, ensuring that it was firmly within his grasp, and raising it, readied.

Afternoon Slot

"Strong work from Hemlock! A lovely comeback Flipendo that was!" Alyssea clapped. The spell had knocked Meiyu right to the ground, similar to Mylo's condition in the beginning. But even with the small moments of Ravenclaw making a hit, it was hard to come back from such a strong opening.

Then, that was it. The last Knockback Jinxes of the match made their mark and brought the birds to the floor. "Oh, but that's some short-lived success. Everyone stop!" Alyssea raised her wand arm, ready to fire any sparks spell in case no one heard her. "Hemlock and Atkins are down!"

This was, by far, the shortest duel Alyssea had ever witnessed. There were no plot twists or tables turned at any point. No, Gryffindor barrelled their way through it with terrifying precision and strength. Though, there might have been a chance if...

"Considering Crenshaw hasn't been in the game since the beginning, I think we've got a clear winner."

Alyssea gestured towards the Gryffindor team, mostly unscathed from the scuffle. "Congrats Gryffindor! A splendid game, indeed. Now, go get your wounds healed up. I need to sleep..." With one last clap, Alyssea yawned and walked off the piste. Finally...
