Raine gaped like a fish as she watched Arc shrink further and further into his clothes. His shrinking didn't stop until his robes completely swallowed him up and Raine had to stop herself from crying out in shock as her friend disappeared right before his eyes. Stepping closer to the pile of clothing, Raine knelt down and poked it.
"Arc?" she called out softly. "Ar-are you alright?"
The reply she would receive was not one that she would expect.
"Arc...Arc I can't...I don't understand. Y-you're a...a baby! How did this happen?" Raine looked around them and saw the fallen, half-eaten apple. Her face went through quite a few expressions in such a short time: Worry. Shock. Understanding. Anger. Frustration.
"Damn it, Arc! That damn apple had a shrinking solution in it, didn't it? I told you not to eat it! I told you that we should have continued through the doors but no! You just had to eat the damn apple!"
The girl put her face in her hands and let out a groan before looking up from her hands and glaring at the baby that was her friend. She noticed the tears welling up in his large eyes and she sighed as she moved to pull him onto her lap. "Don't cry. I-well I did mean to yell at you. You were foolish to eat something you had no clue about. It's a bloody maze for Merlin's sake. But...I'm sorry for making you cry, Arc." she apologized, thinking that it was her tone of voice that made her friend cry. She wouldn't know that it was his own frustration at him being a baby that was making his emotions wonky. She hugged her tiny friend to her own body, and that was when she noticed that he was naked causing a slight blush to appear on her cheeks. She had never seen her friend naked before. Not even when they were little kids...well...younger than what they were now. Even as a baby, Raine didn't think Arc would have appreciated her staring at his little bits. It wasn't as if he was her baby brother...but that thought made Raine swallow the slight embarrassment she was feeling and just think of her friend as her baby brother. She's helped her mum wash his little body all the time before she came to school. This shouldn't be any different. Grabbing her friend's robes, she wrapped him in the large fabric and stood up with him in her arms. Looking down at the apple, the girl kicked it hard to the other side of the field before turning to face the gate that was waiting for them.
The two pre-teens would walk through the gate together, one carrying the other.
"Arc?" she called out softly. "Ar-are you alright?"
The reply she would receive was not one that she would expect.
Raine blinked owlishly as she stared at the baby before her. Her friend's once long hair was now short and sitting on top of his head. His once long fingers, almost like piano fingers, were small with tiny nails that were sharp as baby nails tended to be. His once mature eyes were now wide with the child-like innocence that all babies have and his facial features were much smaller than before. Raine fell to her butt as she saw her friend sitting up in the robes around him, babbling to her. But as it was with her baby brother, she couldn't understand a thing that Arc was saying.“Ta ta buh ta da!”

"Yeah, yeah. I don't know what you're saying but I know we need to get out of here," Raine said as she moved toward the gate with her infant friend. "And just so you know, when you get back to your normal size, I'm punching you in your chest for being so foolish.""Ma tah, ba da da"

ReducioI apologize for the super long delay. I forgot about this honestly and thought I had replied months ago. I'll try to keep up with the replies better.

Baby Arc felt the urge to cry. Perhaps his attempt at getting her attention, a way to get Raine to help him. Hopefully the girl's maternal instincts would kick in at the sight of a young baby. Then again, she was probably far too young to even have any maternal instincts. It was probably more like sisterly instincts at this point. Raine had worked out that the apple was the source of everything, that it contained a shrinking potion of some sort. But her snapping at him did not help.
Arc was conflicted in whether he should cry or go towards the apple. He really wanted to continue to eat the apple. Making an attempt to crawl towards the apple was stopped in vain as Raine picked him and pulled him onto her lap. His little arms would stretch out for the apple. If he did not get it, he would likely start to cry again. He needed the apple. It would help him, he knew it. The apple would fix this, it definitely would. Arc believed that with an unwavering passion but he could not tell Raine that. All he could do was reach out towards the apple and cry if she did not allow him to hold it.
Raine thought that his crying was because she yelled at him. She held the baby on her lap and hugged him before realising that her friend was completely naked. She wrapped him in his robes, which were now more like a blanket than clothing.
Ignoring his desire for the apple, she picked him up. Whether or not he managed to get to the apple before she carried him out of the graveyard was yet to be known.
Either way, the pair managed to get through the gate and found themselves in another room. The room was not as bright as it had looked from the other side.
They were on the side of a cliff. At the end of the cliff, there was a long thin, wobbly bridge. If they looked down from the cliff, they would see nothing. It was like looking into a black hole. A shadowy abyss. Raine could not see how far the cliff went - or if it was even a cliff. Perhaps the ground just looked far away but was not. Perhaps the bridge was the only thing stopping them from falling into the abyss, lost forever. Who knew?
On the other side of the bridge, she could just about make out another rocky cliff. It seemed to - at the very least - connect to something. Above them, everything was black. In fact... it was black all around. The sky, the walls, everything. Were there even walls there?
All they could see was a small rocky patch that they were on, the door they came out of hovering in the space behind them and the bridge ahead. Everything else was full of a darkness. Looking up, they would see lightning clouds hovering in the air, like a dangerous thunderstorm waiting to strike.
If either of them moved towards the bridge, lightning would strike down somewhere on the bridge. Every single step they took towards it, a bolt of lightning hit it. Every time, without fail. The bolts seemed to be attracted to the bridge ahead. But what choice did they have?
