Predictably Failing PV Griffith

Hjørdis could feel the tugging sensation on the edges of her lip. They were aching to smirk as her eyes watched his behaviour change. He went from the casual, 'laid back', 'inviting' yet sarcastic approach to... well, flustered in matters of seconds. Her light blue eyes watched as he made every action to frantically move around but still could not escape the conversation. Unknowingly, perhaps, she had hit him right where it hurt - and she enjoyed, every single second of it.

She caught the coin that he threw back in her right hand without looking away from him, observing every action he made. The man backtracked quicker than she had anticipated. Suddenly deciding there was no need to write any letter or inform the Gryffindor Head of House, as he had previously insisted upon doing. It was not the threat of telling his 'manager' that had made him change his mind. Technically, she held the same position. Perhaps it was the situation that she had presented. Perhaps he felt personally responsible for the student's behaviour.

Game, set, match.

Was it a trick? Who knows. Hjørdis was, after all, the Head of the most cunning house. Perhaps it was. Perhaps it was not. For a moment, it would appear that he would want to know but he seemed to change his mind. So, she would not enlighten him on the situation. There was no need for her to. His expression gave away how he felt. Hjørdis simply nodded, accepting his defeat. She agreed to his solution. Every meal, for at least half an hour. It would show the students that he was there, present and hopefully approachable. He would be a better role model for the students as a result.

She had gotten what she wanted. It was, oddly, far easier than she had imagined it would be. He infuriated her more than she liked. But she was fully expecting this fight to be one that would continue.

"Bring the empty containers back to the kitchen when you're done," Hjørdis simply replied, as she gestured towards the food she had brought over that still sat in their boxed containers. She was not going to bring it back for him. As she spoke, she tossed the coin back onto the table as payment for his time to take them back, before he threw a tantrum about not bringing them - or worse, not eating the food in it.

She expected he would not bother to eat the food, to be honest. And if he did, he would act as though he did not in an attempt to annoy her. Sadly, it would bug her, as she had spent time providing it but Hjørdis would act like it did not bother her and this whole circle would continue till one of them snapped and eventually just attacked the other. Her words indicated that he ought to eat the food, to save them both the hassle but whether or not he did was now up to him. The student, if there was one, would not benefit from this action of his. The student would never know if he ate the food or not. Hjørdis would probably never know - unless she spotted the full containers in the kitchen or worse, the food thrown away in the rubbish bin. Either way, she was done with this conversation now.

She had gotten what she wanted out of it. That was enough for her. She had won - and the urge to smirk and gloat about it was brewing underneath her stony expression. Hjørdis had turned to leave whilst the sickle was still in the air. As the coin hit the table, spiralling for a few seconds before falling flat on it, she had left the cabin as quickly as she had come in. She was done with this conversation now, she had - after all - won.
