Aideen bit her lip. She could not pretend she hadn't seen that. That look that passed between them. As if they each wished they could be together right now, but they saw the other talking to someone else, someone that could / maybe even had replaced them. Was her existence ruining people's lives? After all, he and "Saskia" would have been much happier right now if she wasn't there in the way. "Um, I- look, I need to go."Interactions: @Lamik Fillestar Mentions: @Saskia Nicholson @Ayden White
Without waiting for a response, she turned and raced through the ballroom. Well, as fast as you can run when you keep running into other people and tripping over your dress. After a while, she found a safe corner where a large mass of people would hopefully hide her. But, she could somehow feel that he was staring at where she had gone with a hurt look on his face. Aideen had thought that maybe she could convince him to like her back, but that was before she saw Saskia. Lamik's heart was already with her, and even if she could she didn't want to rip them apart. Go! Go talk to her! Forget about me, I never mattered anyway! In fact, once you really got to meet me, I'm a monster, she thought, then turned her face away so she was looking at the wall.
Perhaps she and Lamik would always just be friends. Or not even that anymore. Why did she always have to do something wrong?

Birthday? Did he just hear that girl say it was the cat's birthday? Do people actually keep track of pet's birthdays? No- That isn't what he should be focusing on right now. As he mentally reproached himself, Jack failed to notice Kaegen slip away into the crowd. It was only when he turned back to look at Aurelia, did he notice that he was now just standing alone. From under his mask, his brow furrowed creating a rather unpleasant expression. Lucky nobody could have seen it. A flash of silver and white caught his eye, as he scanned the nearby area. "Hey! Wait!" He called. His volume level was most likely louder than it should have been. Stepping forward, he tried to make his way through the crowd in front of him. He could feel toes and shoes alike underneath his feet as he charged through the crowd. Failure was inevitable, sadly. He just couldn't keep pace with the other two.Interactions w/ @Aurelia Notrésvace @Kaegen Deathmote @Xailah Alptraum
His head turned on a swivel looking for the girl in white and silver. He cursed under his breath at his lack of perception. Why did he have to get all caught up in his head, once again? He fell still, as he continued to search through the mingling crowd of people. Nothing. He could feel annoyance starting to build up in his chest. Idly he pressed his thumb against his index finger causing a soft 'popping' sound. He never could stop himself from cracking his knuckles. It was a clear indicator of his annoyance and anxiousness.

It seemed like the amount of people in the room doubled in size by the time Rosie blinked once.
It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, but it made finding her friends ten times harder. And it was already difficult with masks. Most of the first years that had piled in, she didn't even recognize. A lot of them were oddly touchy with their dates. Did they not have go through the concept of cooties at year one? She just looked away. It wasn't any of her business! She smiled back at Dymph before she saw her look up.
Rosie glanced over her shoulder to see Quinn, towering over everyone as usual. He said good evening to her, and something else. In Irish, maybe? Rosie didn't know what it meant, but if Quinn was calling her it, she doubted it was an insult. She thought it was charming, if anything. Quinn was a big dork despite the height, and he was one of her best friends at the moment. She let out a little laugh when he asked if she missed him. "Of course, I wasn't waiting too long. I was hanging with Dymph! Do you know her? You should."
Her expression fell slightly when Dymph said she was leaving to somewhere else. "Aw, alright! Come find me later, maybe we can dance or something." Rosie sent her a swift finger gun before turning back to Quinn. She wanted to say hi to her friends, it was just everything was a little overwhelming. There was also the fact everyone was wearing masks, so they were a little hard to identify.
She turned to Quinn again, stretching her arms above her head. "Whaddya wanna do? You wanna eat? Dance? Find some people?" Rosie beamed, moving some of curls away from her mask. She turned around. "I'm still trying to avoid some people but... It should be fun." Her relationship with a few people was unstable. Rosie still got a little unsettled when she went around alone. But that was a whole other can of worms to open on a day that wasn't the ball.
But for now, Rosie was up for interaction with basically anyone, unless Quinn had other plans.

Charlotte's excitement only started to grow as she danced- she felt happy for the first time in a while. Everytime she was in James' company she felt happy, but this time it felt different. She had this feeling in her stomach that she couldn't explain- butterflies maybe, but it felt like so much more than that.
As she twirled, she caught her hands in James', looking up at him as he spoke, her face getting warmer and warmer with every word.
"I'm glad I met you too... You said you lost someone over all this but if they didn't stick around and trust you then what kind of friend is that? And us wizards aren't all that bad, you included." She nudged him, her smile faltering in the middle of her sentence. She couldn't imagine James hating the world they lived in now- he seemed so optimistic about things, but she understood, there have been some supremely shitty things that wizards have done but she couldn't think about that at the moment.
Charlotte was more distracted by the question he asked- in fact no one had ever asked her that. Her eyes widened and she nodded, her mouth opening to say something but no words came out- her wit had failed her once again. Regardless of that, her actions spoke for her as she place her hands on his chest and got on her tippy toes, trying to make her face level with his.

Eugenia couldn’t help but smile at the girl’s reaction. She seemed genuinely surprised that anyone was talking to her and Eugenia wondered if she would have preferred to be left alone. There were times when Eugenia felt that way and anyone who tried to start a conversation would quickly regret doing so. The girl’s response was enough to convince Eugenia that this was not the case.
“No, no one. I wasn’t even sure if I was going to come, to be honest,” Eugenia replied. She hadn’t had the chance to meet many people and there was no one amongst her list of acquaintances who would invite her to the ball. Eugenia was usually quick to make friends, but things seemed to be going much slower at Hogwarts than at any other school she had attended. It was probably because of how different the place was. Eugenia had never been to a boarding school, let alone a school for magic.
Once again, the girl made Eugenia smile, but this time it was because of the way she phrased her next question. Eugenia hadn’t considered the fact that some people enjoyed the anonymity of the event, the only reason she wore a mask was simply because it was a masquerade ball “Eugenia,” she answered. “And what should I call you?” Eugenia asked, deciding to go along with the option of secrecy, the girl was pretty well-hidden under that mask.
Eugenia scanned the room full of students, searching for something new to talk about. The room had gotten fuller since she last looked around it and the music seemed to get louder as the night progressed. As she watched, Eugenia thought about the many children attending the school and how different they all were. There were purebloods, half-bloods, muggle-borns, even students who weren’t completely human. There were people from all over the world, Eugenia herself being an example of one of them.
“Have you always know that you were… well, magical?” She asked.

She supposed there would be no more animals here, but perhaps she should go over and say hi. After all, she couldn't eat the whole snack table.
With one final, longing look at the table, she drifted over to the masked stranger and looked him up and down. His costume - well, outfit - looked quite sophisticated, but something about him seemed quite familiar. Regardless, she decided to ignore that and try to interact with someone new for the... third time that evening.
"Hey," she said with a little wave. "Have you tried those tiny snacks yet?" She indicated the snack table.
She definitely had seen him before; she knew that people were often discernable by posture. But who he was still remained an interesting mystery.
"Do I know you?" she asked, her mask shifting as she raised her eyebrows. "Wait, maybe I know your date or something. Are they here?"
Real smooth. Not that she'd been trying to get herself a date - she merely didn't want to interrupt him if he was waiting for someone. That could end badly.

“Thank you.” Duna signed. “I kind of assumed it was you.” She continued, before remembering she had to write stuff down for him. She mentally kicked herself as she pulled out her notebook and pencil.
‘I already knew it was you.’ She wrote.
Duna looked around as Pierre talked, taking note of the many costumes, ranging from creepy, like Pièrre, to cute, like herself. There sure were a lot of people, more than she’d ever seen in one place, other than the entrance hall. But everyone was sitting in there, here people were moving around and dancing. It was all quite overwhelming, not to mention most of the people ere were taller than Duna’s small frame.
Duna nodded absentmindedly at Pièrre’s words, not even realizing what she had just agreed to. It wasn’t u up Pièrre suddenly grabbed her and and pulled her along through the crowd that Pièrre’s words finally cought up to Duna. They were going to go meet some people.
Duna was always up to making new friends!

With Duna in tow, for she had answered all his questions seemingly in a daze, Piérre now made his way to the center of the room, looking over at all the people there. He saw many familiar faces, and quite a few unfamiliar ones hidden behind full masques, faces such as Maggie Parker, the pale girl whose cat, Schrödinger, if Piérre remembered correctly, he had pet, Katrina Walker, who was escorting someone, Brielle, Gem... who were cute as buttons together...
Everyone he saw either had a buddy or a date, and here he was, flying solo. Duna must be in the same boat as him, he hadn’t seen her enter with anyone else but herself.
Letting go of Duna and spinning in the center of the dance floor as classical music played merrily, Piérre threw out his arms and spun in a slow circle, laughing and forgetting his masquerade attitude. ”Isn’t it great?! Haha!” He called to the ceiling and the chandelier which hung overhead, dripping with diamonds and precious gems, which caught the pleasant light and scattered it across the floor.
Piérre looked at Duna, his eyes twinkling with a mischievous look. ”Man, I’d stay forever if I could. I’m glad I didn’t bring somebody with, otherwise I’d be stressing over them for the whole night!”
The sounds of shouting and a flicker of black caught Piérre’s eye as he saw the pale boy slip away from the corner he had been in initially and stand near the outskirts of the room. Another girl, dressed in an astounding getup followed, shouting after him to return. From the way she said it, Piérre didn’t think she was very happy.
A few seconds later, a pink flamingo strutted over to the two parties and asked what was going on. Piérre recognized the voice as the flying Professor, Miss Olli. Typical that she would show up as such an eye-catching pink apparel. She was almost as flamboyant as Piérre himself.
Piérre watched the scenario, confused. What could the boy being chased have done to provoke such a vehement reaction against him? He didn’t look like much, just a small, thin child who could be mistaken for having shingles. The hunch of his body seemed to show that he was not keen on interacting, and there was something in his vermillion eyes which seemed to cause the shadows to animate, if ever so slightly.
A subconscious chill passed Piérre, even though it wasn’t rippling directly from the boy. He was far too familiar with this race. There seemed to be a lot of them around him, from the incident of the train, Professor Aleck, and now this boy, who was nameless and unknown to Piérre.
The race of Dhampires. They were so interesting to him, and yet, they provoked an unintentional fear. Piérre didn’t blame nay race for being frightful, though. True, it was a part of their nature, but yet, it came at the price of the person knowing it was something they would have to live with for the rest of their life.
Piérre looked back to Duna, who was still just as cutesy and lovey in her bunny outfit. He didn’t know how Duna felt about it, but between Piérre’s intrepid nature and his nasty habit of getting overinvolved in every matter, he felt almost required to observe and learn more about the matter presented to him.
”Hey Duna, why don’t we go over there?” Piérre jerked his head towards the small group. ”Someone seems a little upset... Maybe we can help?”
Whether or not Duna responded positively or negatively Godmod was permitted, Piérre would gently take her wrist and guide her over to where the small scuffle was located. He stood nowhere near the girl who had yelled at the Dhampire boy, preferring to appear as a neutral party, even though he was close to both, and he nicely straddled between the two, ready to step forward at any given moment.
Piérre looked between the two parties before with a deep breath he too, entered the fray. ”Why are we so upset? Isn’t this supposed to be a party?” Piérre looked between the girl, the Professor, and the Dhampire boy. He knew nothing of the Blossom Ball or of the the chaos that had taken place that night, and so he had no idea that who he was currently confronting was an instigator of more than one danger.

in which maggie parker goes on a date with grayson ackley and leaves... well, you'll see.Maggie wasn't surprised to see that all her friends were becoming increasingly occupied with their dates- she would've been the same if she knew where her date actually was. She scanned the room, looking for the one and only Grayson Ackley, who'd asked her to the ball during dance class.
She remembered, however, how she'd promised Dale a dance, and her search was cut off as she did so. She instead looked for Dale, who she soon spotted among a crowd of familiar faces. Lark was there too, and judging by the blush Maggie was able to spot from a mile off, they'd agreed to go together. As she approached, she saw Lark and Elzabeth leave, probably to get drinks or something, and Dale adopted a lost, uncomfortable expression. He was now left with Koko Riddle, who had set him on fire once, and a stocky Illvermorny student Maggie didn't know.
Deciding to play the role of "heroic savior from awkward situations" she approached the dwindling group, smiling politely at the Illverrmorny student and Koko before looking to Dale.
"You still up for that dance? It'll be quick- I don't want to keep my OTP apart for too long." she laughed, holding a hand out as an offer to Dale.RPING AS Owen Morrison - text color #B45F06interacting with @Dale Kurt, @Lark Flaer, @Koko Riddle, @Elzabeth Gillan

Maybe he was just being polite, but he seemed like a genuinely nice kid. Moments after he introduced himself as Dale, a girl Dale's age showed up. She had blue hair, and a thick accent, making it a little hard to understand what she was saying. He hung back a little as more students appeared, feeling a little awkward. He gazed across the room to his friends, who'd each coupled off into pairs- meaning that it'd probably be even more awkward if Owen went over there, because he'd have to deal with them eye-fucking the entire time.
He seemed to have spaced out, because once he was back in the real world, Dale, Lark, and Elzabeth were nowhere to be found. Okay, now it was really awkward. He glanced at the girl, Koko, he thought- who was the only other one left.
"Hey," he began, "I'm Owen. I'm- er, from Illvermorny."

This was unfortunate. What was even more unfortunate was the fact that some hideous pink creature had come to break it up. Seriously, no one had bothered to tell this poor woman that they looked like a marshmallow Peep that had been abandoned in the Kids Craft section of Michaels. Or a lawn ornament. Or both.
She kept her distance, but her eyes remained glued on them, as she backed further into the room, and the sea of people. And they accuse me of being absolutely mad. She would keep her word. She said she would not stop Aurelia from pursuing the sickly boy. But if the pursuit led out of the party, she would be close on both of their heels. The whole thing was silly really. This all could have been prevented. If Kaegen hadn't crawled out of whatever hole he lived in, and if Aurelia could think of people other than herself; everything probably would have been fine. But no. Nothing can just be fine can it? Xailah turned to her feline companion, the teeth on her Cheshire
