HOTTOGO open

Monday Morning | March 3rd
He wasn’t sure what he was going to do today. He was exhausted, had rolled his way out of bed and just wanted to sleep. However, he wasn’t getting that luxury. He opened the drawers and grabbed his clothes. Honestly, if he didn’t match, he did not care. He was no fashionista nor was he a uniform-wearer.

He nabbed a random outfit; neon yellow shorts with a lego batman t-shirt. Both of which were pajama pieces. He grabbed his wand and stared forward in annoyance and exhaustion. He tried to jam it into a pocket, but after a few unsuccessful tries, he looked down and realized that the shorts didn’t come with pockets. He just jammed it into his shorts, in between the underwear and the shorts itself. Hopefully it wouldn’t fall, he didn’t want to go searching for it.

He walked out of the hufflepuff dormitory and made his way into the corridors. He saw a few ugly expressions as they looked him up and down and in all honesty, it wore him out to have to see these faces critiquing him or looking rather confused. Just let him be weird. Comfortable. Not everyone wants to wear a black cloak all day every day.

Clark stared at the portraits and the stone wall lining the floor and he just was out of it. He was not exactly sure exactly what he was doing, why he was out there but he was for some reason, wandering the halls. Did he have class today, maybe. Did he want to go to class? No. It’s a lovely monday morning. Oh, that’s right he needed to go to the great hall.

Or, he could go find someone else to pick on.

Humming quietly under her breath, Kaitlyn skipped out of the dungeons. Her satchel bounced against her hip, and her wand was tucked behind her left ear. She clutched her sketchpad close to her chest as she moved. Before she attended class that morning, she desired to sketch something in Hogwarts. Perhaps one of the portraits? Or maybe a suit of armor? She never paid attention that much to the suits of armor to determine if there was anything different about them. Or, she could find one of her favorite things to sketch: plants!

For now, the young Slytherin was content with roaming the corridors … at least until a suitable option came to mind. Maybe she’d get some inspiration from around the castle? More likely, she hoped something exciting would come to her mind for her to draw. As much as she liked magic and liked the castle, there were only so many architectural wonders she could sketch … before they started to grow old. Sadly, the young artist was already at that point. It was such a shame!

After skipping gracefully around a corner, Kaitlyn spotted a boy close to her age … staring at the portraits. If her memory served her, he was in some of her classes … so another second year. The young Slytherin was often pretty quiet during class, even if she knew the answer. There were very few classes she was willing to speak in, namely Herbology. She tilted her head to the side, curious why he was staring at the portraits. Yet, she was also the type to maintain her politeness.

“Hi,” Kaitlyn greeted him shyly, politeness in her voice. Her blue eyes noticed the character on his shirt. “I liked playing those games,” she continued. Did she care that he was out of uniform? Not in the slightest. Frankly, she wished she was out of uniform, too.

He stared down the Corridors and heard a voice that greeted him, pointing out his own shirt. "Game?" He asked, his cluelessness hitting him hard as he did not even know that there was a game for a bunch of yellow plastic figures with stickered on clothes. "What game?" He thought for a second. "Like.. morningolollypoppy?" He was referring to Monopoly, an older game but good golly no one ever plays that, especially not in his house. Or well, his Hogwarts House either as far as he was aware, but he could just be completely blind.

Hmm. This girl was a bit interesting. He didn't recognize her. Then it hit him, this girl, he must've seen her at the glass sanctuary they call Herbology. "Hello.. who be you?" He asked, his voice less violent and more out of curiosity. "Are you.. in Herbology?" He questioned.

The goblin starting to ramble, "You know, I broke into the Herbology Greenhouse twice! I'm practically hailed as a hero! I got a temporary boyfriend out of that too, but you don't ever hear about him because I moved on." Was that important? No, it really wasn't. It was like rambling about something no one cared about at the dinner table when all you wanted to do is just shove your face full of food.

He smiled, then with a dark look on his face, a shining smirk, he whipped out his wand from where he had stored it and pointed it at her. "Oh, the things I could do."

Hearing the confused response from the boy, Kaitlyn tilted her head to the side but didn’t say anything at first. She listened to his confusion … even up to his attempt at pronouncing monopoly. It was frankly hilarious, but she was taught to be polite to others and to behave in accordance with the etiquette from St. Ann’s all-girls Catholic boarding school. After a few moments passed, she finally answered him. “You mean mon-op-o-ly,” she sounded out the syllables carefully. No judgment was in her voice or condescension. Rather, she tried to be helpful … if possible. “Yes and no. Um, it was played mostly in your hands … the character would run around …” she mimed playing on a controller or a handheld system … unsure how much she had to explain.

“My name is Kaitlyn Connor, and I am a second-year Slytherin. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance. May I ask for your name?” Politeness rang in her soft voice. “I am, indeed. I like Herbology,” she confirmed with a nod. That might have been hard to believe with how much she valued her appearance. Yet, she made it work out on her own.

“I broke in once, too. However, now, I will go in when I please to help tend to the plants. I’m sorry, I haven’t heard of a hero that breaks into the greenhouse … But, it’s good that you found a boyfriend that way … even if it was temporary. I’d love to find a girlfriend like that,” she smiled. She liked plants, after all, and would love to find a girl that liked plants as well. A date to a garden would sound lovely, in her opinion!

Noticing that he whipped out his wand, Kaitlyn slipped her wand out of behind her ear and pointed it at him in return. She deprived him of any emotion or reaction, giving him a blank look in return. “Are you sure you want to do that?” She asked in her same airy tone. Kaitlyn Connor might have been shy and would prefer to help people, but that didn’t mean she would let anyone walk over her. She had a backbone, even if she didn’t always show it.

He rolled his eyes. "Yes. That's what I said. Monopoley." His tone dripping with more of a sarcastic tune than a simple and respectful one, like he should have had.

He didn't know what the girl was talking about, some weird handheld game? You can't play handheld games! It's not possible! They're half the size of a card table, maybe even more than that! It's impossible! He still held the wand in his hand, keeping it in her own vision.

He looked at Kaitlyn with disgust, the expression clear on his face. "You broke in.. and now you help with the plants? Disgusting." A traitor to wizardkind. Absolutely no one should be touching dirt.. except for the trashy wizards, like Prat. God knows that horrid gremlin deserved to clean after everyone else.

Oh. This girl wasn't looking for a boyfriend like most girls he chose to interface with. Interesting. He squinted his eyes with doubt, before drawing closer to her. "So.. you don't want a boyfriend? No one like.." He paused dramatically, to flex his non-existent muscles. "Like me.." He let his eyebrows raise and lower itself several times.

He grumbled, feeling like he sucked. Gosh, if he couldn't get Alyssea, why would he get a Slytherin? "Petrificus Totalus." He stated, the full body bind curse.

Despite being brought up with etiquette training from her muggle school, Kaitlyn was by no means an expert at social interactions. Rather, she was quite bad at it … in her opinion. She had tried to spell out the name of the game for him … monopoly. If he didn’t want her advice, who was she to correct a second time? Even though she wasn’t at Hogwarts for that long, she long ago abandoned the notion that the other students would be polite back to her … there weren’t that many interested in doing so at no fault of their own.

It wasn’t lost on her that he failed to say his name. Kaitlyn shrugged at his response to her admission about the greenhouse. “I don’t find it disgusting. The plants have feelings, too,” she replied. She frankly didn’t care if other people found it disgusting that she liked taking care of the plants. She wasn’t the type of girl to hate getting dirt on herself … despite being pretty.

A frown formed on her lips, and Kaitlyn immediately shook her head. “I didn’t come over here to reject you,” she replied quietly. “I like girls, not boys. It’s nothing against you,” she shrugged, running her fingertips over the hem of her skirt. “I’m sure you can find a girl to like …” She trailed off.

It came as no surprise that the boy fired a spell at her. Frankly, she would have been surprised if he didn’t. That was a foregone conclusion when he felt the need to take his wand out at her. She couldn’t control that fact. All she could do would be to control her own actions. In this case, she chose not to respond with her own spell.

The fully body bind curse hit her in the shoulder. Kaitlyn immediately fell to the ground, her body completely tense, unable to move.
