Gryffindor v Ravenclaw 1st Game Finished

They might have scored but Dympha couldn't help but to feel bad about it. Eris was out of the game. She turned away when she fell, hoping that a team mate would save her but that didn't seem to be the case. The Hospital Wing would likely be crowded after the match but maybe she could squeeze in to visit her Gryffindor friend for a moment. There was a flurry of movement from the stands. Even their fellow Ravenclaws didn't seem too happy about the Gryffindor's injuries. While she did want to win, it wasn't everything.

Even with her competitive streak, she knew that others were more important than the game itself. Still, Dymphna felt a rush of adrenaline when she focused back on the game. The Seeker was out so Neculai had a better chance. Find the snitch soon, she urged him on. She wanted them to win the game before either team suffered more injuries. Her eyes drifted around the pitch, ready and waiting for what would happen next.

Adam jumped out of his seat as he watched Eris plummet to the ground, wincing at the impact. He knew Quidditch could be a dangerous game, but it was still scary to see that sort of thing happen to someone you knew. She was on the other team, though, and they were in the middle of a game. What could he really do to help? He'd have to take comfort in the (assumed) knowledge that Hogwarts wouldn't let anything fatal happen to its students in a match.

Suddenly, the game had gotten a lot more intense. Quite a few people were misplaced from their brooms, and others had just barely dodged a Bludger. Ravenclaw was still ahead, mostly thanks to Lavinia, but the Gryffindors were definitely intent on not going down without a fight. If it kept up this way, he might be subbing in sooner than he thought. Jorah had already taken a hit -- if it wasn't for Ruthie, he might be on the ground right next to Eris.

Cecily zoomed by him on her way to finish her penalty lap, and he tried to give her a thumbs-up, but a subtle one. He was pretty sure that move she'd just pulled had been against the rules, and he didn't want to get caught condoning that in front of the professors. There was still a large part of him that wanted to believe that Cecily couldn't have done that on purpose, too. It was so blatantly foul play.

Adam kept cheering for Ravenclaw, but his shouts were maybe a little softer this time around. His team had the lead, no matter how they'd gotten it. Maybe now they'd pull back a little bit and play it safe, so no one else would have to get hurt.

Man if the game kept up this way Gryffindor had no chance. How in the world was she able to score 2 times in a row and when she scored the Gryffindor keeper seemed to be off the job. The real reason why Lavinia was doing so good was because of her mentoring by @Olphie Bercegeay the one and only amazing flying professor. She had given her so many great tips on how to beat the living daylights out of people but in this match it seemed like Gryffindor was doing that to themselves. They had players who had fallen to the ground and ones who had already thought this game to be over since they were willing to take penalties for their actions. Even if the other team had stopped playing she had not, she was determined to keep this up and win the game.

Raine grunted as she pulled Arlis onto her broom. Her split second decision had cost them. Sure they needed a beater to keep the bludgers away, but damn it all if they didn't need the snitch even more. But Arlis was closer to Raine and that's who she had to go for.

"You alright back there?" she would ask, hoping that the hard hit from the bludger wouldn't rattle the other girl too much. "If you can still swing that bat, which I'm hoping that you held onto in your fall, make sure those bludgers don't come at us." She truly hoped that Arlis kept a hold of her beaters bat. If she hadn't she may just be tempted to buck the girl off her broom. No need to have dead weight if they can't be useful.

When Professor B was talking about Eris in such a manner, Raine had to admit that she had to grit her teeth in frustration. She had wanted to fly over to the commentator booth and give the woman what-for. Who the bloody hell would want a damn autographed copy from some fake Quidditch Player after falling damn near to their death?! But now wasn't the time to concern herself with the crazy woman. Even with her extra weight, she needed to help with getting the Quaffle and with her other teammates doing laps, she was pretty much on her own.

"Hope you're ready for a ride," she would comment as she raced off, "'cuz we got some work to do, my friend."

Arlis knew what she had to do. Defend Eris. And she was going to do it, no matter what it took. the first bludger came and she tried to bat it away, but failed. Desperately, she threw herself in front of it, using herself as the shield. She grimaced but managed to take it. Breathing heavily, she was recovering from the first one when the second came. "Fer the love o'-" Angrily, she put herself in the way again, if only to give Eris a moment longer. but the force of being hit by both was too much. She spiraled down, preparing for the pain that would hit when she met the ground, but suddenly she made contact with something else, and she was going up again. Relieved for a moment, she managed to grunt "yeah… thank yeh" before looking around again. Eris. even after all Arlis had done, Eris had still fallen. Why me? Why was I saved? She could have had the snitch! But it was done now. Mumbling words of gratitude to Raine, she tightened her grip around the bat. There was still a game to win.

Cecily Quinn is taking her penalty lap. Bad girl.
Ruthie Greer is carrying a Jorah Moussa, and has opted out of Chaser actions.
Lavinia Cloven is attempting a Quaffle grab!
10+8=18.
Griseldis Edelhardt is taking her penalty lap. Bad girl.
Euphrasia Millie is taking her penalty lap. Bad girl.
Raine Sage carrying an Arlis Penrose, and is delivering her to her broom instead of performing Chaser actions.
Lavinia Cloven has obtained the Quaffle!
With two out of Gryffindor's three Chasers taking penalty laps, and on holding a battered Beater in the game, they were in no position to try for the Quaffle. As such, Lavinia Cloven grabbed it with no effort. She sped off toward Gryffindor's goal posts, which were a REALLY popular target today, and prepared to face off with Hugh Lowe.
Lavinia Cloven is attempting to score on Hugh Lowe.
10+4=14.
Hugh Lowe is on lifeguard duty, and has abandoned the goal posts.

Lavinia Cloven scores!!!
However, her mental prep to stare down the half-giant were pointless, as Hugh was not at all paying attention to the goal posts this time. All Lavinia had to do was fly right up to the goal post and casually toss it in.

SCORE!!! 10 POINTS TO RAVENCLAW!!!!

The Ravenclaw Chasers were dominating the field. Goal after goal. This was their time to shine for sure.
Both Hugh Lowe and Dymphna Teague are on lifeguard duty, and have abandoned their goalposts.
Neither of the Keepers seemed overly concerned with their goals. Still no one came for Dymphna.
Neculai Lazar is looking for the Snitch.
3+15+2=20. (DC is 18.
Neculai Lazar has spotted the Golden Snitch!!!

Lamik Fillestar is looking for the Snitch as well.
10+18=28(DC is 18)
Lamik Fillestar has also spotted the Golden Snitch!!!!!
Both Seekers were looking for that damned ball, and both were desperate, albeit for different reasons. Neculai, to bring the game to an end and clinch the win that Ravenclaw was headed toward, and Lamik in order to avenge the previous Seeker, and likely to rub the come-from-behind win in their faces.
As fate would have it, both of the boys noticed that flittering, glinting little thing at the same time. All that was left now was to see which one caught it.
Arlis Penrose has returned to her broom.
Emma Hill has used her Bludger Backbeat attack on Lamik Fillestar. Damage to be dealt: 650.
14+5+9=28 vs 3+13=16.
Emma's attack is super effective! Lamik is knocked from his broom.

Oh, but it isn't over. Ruthie Greer and Jorah Moussa have performed the Fusion Dance, and are sporting a Two Headed Dragon play. They have become.... Jorathie.
Jorathie has used an epic shite-load of math a Bludger Backbeat attack on Rainarlis. Damage to be dealt: 325.

8+5+12=25 vs 7(rounded up from 6.5)4=11.
The Bludger hits, and the battle of the fusions comes to an end. Raine has 375 remaining HP.
It seemed though, that Ravenclaw was not about to let up on their assault. Both Emma, and the two headed dragon Jorah and Ruthie unleashed a Bludger Backbeat attack on Lamik and Rainarlis, blasting Lamik from his broom. Did Ravenclaw even know what the word mercy meant?

Yes, of course they did. They just didn't have any.

Rainarlis was able to hold on and keep her Beater half on her broom.

However, Hugh Lowe was there to save the day! He caught Lamik as if he were a falling Quaffle. Lamik now owed Hugh a life debt.
Except maybe not, cuz the odds of him dying were staggeringly low. Gryffindor still had a chance to win this, if they acted fast enough.

So many chasers were taking penalty laps that Olphie couldn't help but boo as one Ravenclaw and two Gryffindors flew across the field. How lame. If they were true Quidditch players, they wouldn't have gotten caught on the first place. Meanwhile, both Gryffindor and Ravenclaw had players sharing brooms, so Olphie continued her boos. What was this, amateur hour? If these kids were truly concerned about the crowd's entertainment, they'd just punch their teammates off and get on with the action.

Or at least, that's what she would do. But Olphie never was much about teamwork. She only wanted glory. It seemed that, much to her vexation, these children had morals or some crap like that. Lame.

Thankfully, her favorite player of this match, Lavlav, was the star of the show once more - she grabbed that Quaffle once more. "It's like that ball is glued to her fingers!" Olphie shrieked in delight. "Someone better check her to see that she hasn't used the Gripping Charm on herself!"

What happened next shocked her beyond belief, and the loudest, most ear-piercing shriek came from the commentator's stands as she yelped in surprise. Olphie didn't notice that the Ravenclaw Keeper had also abandoned her post; she was too focused on yet another showdown between Clayman and Lover. But...where was that boy? The Flying Professor was lucky she was a woman of authority, as she blurted without thinking: "What are you doing, you idiot! Get back! GUARD THOSE GOALS! You're going to let her -"

Score. "Goal!" This was getting embarrassing; Olphie considered offering her expertise to the Keeper, or honestly, all of the team. But at least she didn't say that; Olphie would never be so rude. "That makes it another 10 points for Ravencl - oh."

Olphie observed a glint of recognition as both Ladsar and Finestar seemed to have spotted the snitch; however, the Ravenclaw captain smashed Filecabinet's hopes - literally - as she launched a bludger his way. The boy fell downwards, continuing the trend of this Quidditch match resembling a war zone. The Hospital Wing would certainly be filled with bodies; Olphie would have to sign quite a few "Get Well" cards.

Now she understood. "Apologies, Huge Dowry - you seem to be a smart lad, after all; third time's the charm for a good decision! Glad you and Mr. Fiststar are enjoying some bonding on your broom. Now get to action and save the game for you ferocious lions!"

Olphie couldn't help it; that impressive move made her hop out of her seat and do a little dance.  She whooped and hollered so ridiculously long and excitedly that even the disappointing result of Journie couldn't bring her down. All she had to say about the failed Two Headed Dragon was, "And a nice attempt from Giraffie! I ship it!"

Hopefully, the game would pick up again soon. Hug had made this round not a complete bore, but Olphie was looking for a bit more blood.

While Griseldis was doing her one-lap penalty, she knew a lot happened but she only wanted to finish her penalty as soon as possible. She could hear how the audience changed from cheering, booing to gasps of astonishment. Once she finished her penalty, she quickly turned around and saw the results.

The Ravenclaw team seemed they were winning at this point, but what truly mattered to Griseldis, was that her teammates are well and safe. Although Raine got hit by the Beater she knocked off from the last round, she was still able to help Arlis back on her broom, Hugh, their Keeper was able to save their seeker Lamik from the Ravenclaw captain's ruthless attack. She got to admit, Emma Hills was a terrifying Beater. Then Griseldis looked up at Lavinia Cloven, the Ravenclaw Chaser who scored three times for her team with such ease. The hands gripped tightly on her Shooting Star, staring at her strong opponent with a determined look on her face. It was time for her to shine as a Chaser!

I know there will be a chance that I might fail or succeed, but I shall never give up!

She needed to believe in herself...and her Gryffindor teammates!

As Lamik Fillestar fell, his life flashed before his eyes. This is it. The boy thought. This is when I die. As soon as he finished his overly dramatic inner monologue though, the seeker was cought. Looking in front of him to see who his saviour was, Lamik laughed. "Thanks, Hugh!" He yelled over the wind."Let's catch this stupid snitch!"

Jorah's voice only egged her on to fly further and faster than she had done before. Squinting, she was trying to locate the boy's broom when she noticed a bludger near by. Normally, she would avoided that pesky black ball as well as she could, but there was a new variable on the table: Jorah, a beater, sat behind her with a hand on her waist. It was lucky she had saved her best friend; it might have been awkward otherwise, but she would have done it anyway. After all, the team was family. As they rounded the corner, she saw Jorah saw Jorah tighten his grip on his bat. And that's when she did the daring thing and flew towards the bludger, ducking slightly as she did so. When she heard the unmistakable crack, she raised her head to watch Jorah's well-aimed bludger hit the other duo, Arlis and Raine. It wasn't enough to take them down, but damage was done. Still, she'd indulged in his fantasy long enough; it was time to return him to his broom or, at the very least, get on with the game.
