I mean, yeah, it probably would have. Only reason it didn't is because well, he was already dead. It was a test, yes, as Avery said, however a stab is a stab.Lili Wagel wrote: 16 May 2025, 01:26 So if, hypothetically, he had fainted, it could have maybe not killed him?

Basically, yes. Though, since he had many other very bad injuries caused by a variety of different things I don't think I can say on here, so it could be a possibility that it had killed him. Though, in John 19:30, the Bible says that Jesus said it is finished as he breathed his last. This happened before he was stabbed in his side, so that's why I don't think the stab killed him and that he actually fainted. There is also the topic I mentioned in an earlier post about a Roman soldier and many others that didn't believe he was God's son and actually mocked him admitted that he was the Son on God.Lili Wagel wrote: 16 May 2025, 01:26 So if, hypothetically, he had fainted, it could have maybe not killed him?

Alright! The topic that we just discussed is called the Swoon Theory. This is quite a popular topic, and that's why it's important to understand what the topic is and how to respond! You all did amazing! (feel free to continue with the Swoon Theory if you have any more questions!)
Now, the next question:
How do we know that Jesus' disciples didn't sneak into the tomb and steal Jesus' body?

A) it was guarded...
B) That stone was HEAVY. They probably couldn't move it if they tried. They trusted him to do his will.

Yep! Also, if the guards would have fallen asleep, then they would have been killed, so the disciples had no chance to even get to the tomb! That answer was actually what I was thinking!Graci Laren wrote: 16 May 2025, 01:39 A) it was guarded...

Have you ever seen that skit, "what if Jesus' resurrection was a hoax?"Avery Gray wrote: 16 May 2025, 01:36 Alright! The topic that we just discussed is called the Swoon Theory. Avery Gray wrote: 10 May 2025, 21:21 I'm going to kick things off with a question, so I can see where we all stand on this issue and Hikari and I can know what to teach you guys.
Question: How do we know that Jesus actually died on the cross? What if he actually fainted since that makes logical sense?
Note: I do not believe this, but this is what my apologetics teacher told me is a popular question.
Not that we currently have living proof that he did die on the cross , well do we have the Bible which states basically that happened BC & AD , We know from the bible that is prophecy , and for our sins , which is basics things that have been said by many people , we also know that he had done many miracles in his time , walking on water , raising the dead , and many more , Jesus's death is also understood as an act of atonement , as which means he paid the price of humanity so others could be reconciled with god , as when he was stabbed in the side , the man that stabbed him was half blind , as when Jesus blood touched him , it had healed his eye sight , guess what he also started to believe in god , the other two men on the cross , one believed in crist as he said the other didnt but in that moment " are you not Christ? Save us and yourself " the one that ' beloved ' had said , " Do you fear god? We are being justly punished and this man has done nothing " the second the if had said , the one that didn't believe , the second theif also had said " Christ , remember me when you enter your kingdom. " jesuses responded back with " I tell you , today you will be with me in Paradise. " he said to the second theif , its both easy to give your life to god and doubt but most people choose to doubt our lord instead.
Its also stated that when he went to the mountain to pray to his father he wept
It took me forever to write this.
